Fly Home to Me is a clean, Christian, romance story set in Phoenix, Arizona. Piper, a journalist, and Gabe, a fighter pilot are the main characters. Piper struggles with a lot of fear and a lack of trust due to loss in her past. I believe the author, Chalon Linton has written a good story of growing in faith and learning to let go of controlling all things of life. Piper was a bit flaky to me and I wasn't able to really identify with her. Gabe is a fun and charming character who challenges Piper to come out of her box and start living again. Depending on your like or dislike of Piper will most likely determine how much you enjoy the book. I would recommend giving it a read as not everyone has the same reaction to every character.
This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone. Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy of the book. The opinions stated in this review are completely my own.

I loved this book! It drew me in from page one. Piper loves her job and living in Phoenix, Arizona, she never wants to leave. Piper has had an issue with being left behind, ever since she lost some family members. When Piper meets Gabriel, who serves in the military those issues of being left behind surface once again. I loved this book so much. This is the second book in the Flying in Live series, it can be read as a stand alone novel, but you don't want to miss out on reading both books, they are so good.
I live near an air force base, so like Piper it isn’t uncommon to see a man in uniform around town. While it is never fighter pilots— queue disappointed sigh— the airmen are quite dashing when they are in their blues.
Fly Home to Me is an sweet clean read about faith, loss, and learning to love again. Piper Holland’s past heartache led her to a lonely life of keeping others at a distance. With the help of family, friends that never give up, and the charming Gabriel Orsini, we watch her grow and learn to love again.
This is an extremely clean book that I would recommend to any Christian reader. While there is a message of learning to listen to God, and a small number of church scenes, I would also recommend this to those simply looking for something clean and sweet. You can pick up a copy July 2.
Thank you Chaplin Linton and Covenant Communications for a solid introduction to NetGalley. I look forward to my next reads, and will definitely be keeping an eye on what else both have to offer.
I enjoyed this story and appreciated the pride and love for the military. However, I really struggled with the immaturity of the main character, Piper. I am glad she was in therapy and getting some things taken care of but she was a bit selfish and self involved.
I was provided with an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This modern love story is set in Phoenix, and gives the reader a (little) taste of air force life. The main characters are very well-developed and have realistic struggles. Gabriel (air force pilot) is pretty close to perfect, some hang-ups for him might have added more excitement, but overall he is just a fun person to get to know. At times, Piper got on my nerves, but I found her personage to be authentic. I know people struggling with similar issues and appreciate the way she is portrayed. The likable, supporting characters are very well integrated into the story (and there are quite a few of them) without it being too much. The writer is obviously very familiar with air force life and she has done an excellent job of weaving that information throughout the story, making it an interesting read. I tasted some real life experiences there. Piper’s media background is fleshed out in such a way that the reader feels involved in the publishing process, very nicely done! The issues of loss, hurt and forgiveness are important topics in this book. If you’re into fashion, you’ll enjoy the elaborate descriptions of every outfit Piper and Gabriel wear on their different outings. I selected this book because of its setting, I used to live in Phoenix. Some well-known landmarks are mentioned, but this story could have taken place anywhere so don’t read it because of the setting! Overall, this is a relatively quick and pleasant read with problems one can relate to. It’s a clean romance story with christian values. Thank you NetGalley and Covenant Communications for providing me with an ARC!

I am reviewing a copy of Fly Home to Me through Covenant Communications and Netgalley:
Piper Holland has no patience for a traffic jam, the dry cleaners is going to close soon and she is going to need her luxury silk blouse when she pitches her theme to the editors of the magazine she works for. But after seeing what caused the traffic jam, she can’t help but feel a little guilty a man in a military uniform is gallantly pushing a stalled vehicle off the road. After that her rush to the dry cleaners seems far less important. But when the handsome Good Samaritan crosses her path again, she realizes fate is giving her a chance to redeem herself.
Gabriel Orsini is a fighter pilot stationed at Luke Air Force base and he seems to be the perfect man, and an assignment at the magazine offers Piper the perfect chance to get to know him better. She knew her Day in the Life: Hometown Heroes article was tailor made for the big hearted pilot. It doesn’t take long for the interviews for the article enter the territory, Piper soon realizes she has fallen for Gabriel, but her tragic past has taught her one thing: everyone leaves. And the transient lifestyle of a military man leaves her no doubt that Gabriel will eventually abandon her too. With her heart on the line, Piper must decide: is the risk of loss worth the possibility of forever?
I give Fly Home to Me five out of five stars!
Happy Reading!
What a beautiful story. I loved the relationship built between these two. There was love and heartache. Chalon Linton did an amazing job building the characters and the story in a way that made it so you didn’t want to put it down! Well done!!
This was such a fun read. It was fun to learn a little more about the air force and some of the terminology used. I really liked Piper and seeing her growth through the story. She really was able to overcome her anxiety with help from her therapist. I do wished that I got to see some of the conversations with Piper's therapist because I felt like she was mentioned often for someone we never met. Gabe is a total swoon worthy pilot hunk. I do wish we could of got a little bit more deep with his feelings on his dad. I definitely enjoyed this read

This book was just what I needed to read! Fly Home to Me is the first contemporary of Chalon Linton that I have read and I really enjoyed it. Fly Home to Me is the second book in Chalon Linton’s Flying in Love series. I haven't read the first book yet, but I don’t feel like you need to, Fly Home to Me was still really good!
Piper Holland has her life in control, but a chance encounter with Gabriel Orsini, a fighter pilot stationed at Luke Air Force Base changes everything. Piper and Gabriel’s paths cross again when she asks him to be part of Her “Day in the Life: Hometown Heroes” article. As they spend time together, Piper finds herself falling for Gabriel. But can she let him into her heart knowing that he might leave her? As they fall in love Piper will have to decide if taking the risk of loss is worth the possibility of forever.
I was kind of on the fence regarding Piper, I liked her and I didn't’ at the same time. I had mixed feelings, but as I read more about her she grew on me. I did however feel really bad for her. She was trying to find her footing in life, and she needed to be in control. I could relate to her in a sense and I wanted her to be happy. It was sweet to read about her with Gabriel, he helped her relax and enjoy life. But Piper had to learn to trust God and to jump hoping that she could fly.
Gabriel, Gabe, was a lovely character. He was a bit of a flirt but he cared for Piper. It was fun to read about them interacting. He jumped in headfirst with Piper and it was sweet to read about their relationship progress. He tried so hard to win Piper’s heart and to be there for her. I just really liked him, he was easy going and kind.
Piper and Gabe had such a fun relationship! He helped her relax and look to God. Piper had been struggling with life, and Gabe was steady. Fly Home to Me was such a fun contemporary read about characters living in life. I really enjoyed the pace and just the everyday feel. I also really liked reading about Piper’s brothers. They had such a nice relationship, but Piper did have to learn to forgive and to let people in.
Fly Home to Me was a really good book! I would definitely recommend it! Fly Home to Me is a clean, contemporary romance with hints of religion.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.
Book was slow and did not grab my attention. The storyline kind of dragged out. I did not end up finishing the book as it was so slow.
I throughly enjoyed this story. I loved how real and understandable the characters are.
Piper is still suffering from the deaths of her parents and brother. She feels lost and left behind, especially with her other brothers continuing on with their lives and her best friend marrying her ex-boyfriend. Working with a therapist, Piper is trying to overcome her feelings and learn to let others in and be spontaneous. She has worked hard to make her life dependable and her surroundings planned, until she meets Gabriel. Gabriel is a fighter pilot for the sir force, his life is anything but predictable. However, Piper cannot deny their chemistry and how they fit together perfectly.
I loved the character development and I am looking forward to reading more stories by Chalon!
This was such a tender love story! I loved the characters Gabe and Piper. Gabe is such a steady rock for Piper, and I love that he is patient with her. His service in the Air Force has a soft spot for me as well.
Piper has been thru a lot. Letting go is hard when it feels like you barely have a hold to begin with! But she did it! Her growth was so good to see.
Thank you Covenant Communications and author Chalon Linton for the opportunity in reading this tender story!
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Piper leaves work and encounters a good Samaritan on her way to pick up her dry cleaning. She decides to pay for his bill. Gabriel calls her to pay her back. She decides to do a story about him. I enjoyed the chemistry between Piper and Gabriel.
FLY HOME TO ME by CHALON LINTON is a well written romance novel with great characters and a good Christian message.
Piper Holland, having lost her parents and one of her brothers in a car crash, is working through her fear of being deserted by those she loves with prayer and therapy, when she meets Captain Gabriel Orsini from the Luke Air Force Base. As she chases away anyone who tries to get close to her, we wonder if this will be the case with the handsome and kind pilot?
It is a story about overcoming fear, forgiveness and learning to put other people first.
It is altogether a most enjoyable read and one I highly recommend.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Covenant Communications. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
When is love worth the risk?
A compelling story of fear based in loss and working to move through it towards a better future. Piper lost both her parents and one brother in a car accident. Shortly afterwards another brother marries, her last brother moves out of state and she also, loses her best friend. Piper clings to everything familiar even more than before, pushing away anything that might have even the possibility of causing change or new loss. She pushes away friends, boyfriends, and new friends. Then she meets Gabriel, a fighter pilot stationed at the nearby air base. Going against all she has held to, she decides to allow this charming, fun pilot into her life. What will happen when the realities of military life begin to affect her? How can she choose between stability with predictability and the regular changes with the unpredictability required of life in a military family? I received an early copy and this is my honest review. Although this is second in a series it is completely a standalone and can be read as such. That said I highly recommend both this and the first book.
