Wanted to like this, but it fell flat a bit. I'm familiar with the French mindset, and while this book did align with it a lot, there was also an angle of 'wanting' to please the American audience - for example, advice telling the reader to go for love always (sounds very romantic and very French/liberal/romantic, but you cannot just say this without knowing what the consequences could be)
The author also came across a little full of himself sometimes - could be French chauvinism, but it was a bit of a turn-off (for example when he had a woman describe in detail what sort of wonderful lover he is!)
This only took me about 40 minutes to read. It was mildly interesting, but I didn't learn much I didn't already know.
Thank you NetGalley for sending this arc for an honest review!
This book was actually quite spectacular and intresting. I’m suprised I didn’t dnf judging it was the norm of the stories I normally read. It was really enjoyable to see the difference in how Americans vs French do things differently do yo culture. Now i will have to say this book contained very realistic topics such as how to have seggs and what not so I advise if ur intrested and curious to open up the book. It was a fun read, like a documentary. It definitely was a good use of my time to learn something new.
An interesting read. I would have hoped that it had more of a French perspective of relationships. A quick and helpful read regarding all types of relationships. I enjoyed it.
More than anything, this gave great insight to some of the cultural differences between the US and France. Working with students who study abroad, I think they would appreciate this as a resource to not only see an American perspective. The author is very blunt about a lot of things and while I think some people will disagree with his advice oh, I think that's exactly the point and what makes it interesting. Worth a read if you are interested in working on your relationship
This book was aj incred8bly easy read, shirt and sweet. It was in the form of letters being writtej to the author and his blunt but well thoughtout respnses. I loved seeing his answers, and the perspective of a French man who has lived in both France and America. My favorite thing was seeing him time and again mention seeking therapy. It is good to see someone advocate for mental health and couples sometines need the hemp of therapy to understand each other's perspective. It was a good read, just incredibly short.
Great read if you’re a Francophile like myself. Also if you’re into books about relationships and love.
I have no words for this book but wow
Guy Blaise gives amazing relationship advice from a Male perspective from his own experiences which is just amazing
I feel like i really gained a lot of love, being open during sex and all that wonderful stuff. What i also loved is a glimpse of how the French did love which was such an eye-opener.
I loved this book dearly. Safe to say it's joining the books I'll be recommending for a while
This was interesting to see the male perspective and further, the different perspectives between cultures on some common questions. While I'm not sure I would buy this in book form, just due to the subject matter and thinking about whether I would pick this up more than once, this would make a fantastic podcast that I would love to listen to. I liked the conversational tone of this book. Well presented and very articulate.
I thought this book sounded interesting and entertaining, so I requested it. And boy, I am glad I did! I loved this! Some of it was funny without it intending it to be, but I really liked this different perspective - and who doesn't want to be a sexy French woman - if only on the inside :)
