I really liked this book! I always enjoy a book about friendship! I loved the characters in this book. The author did a fantastic job! I felt like I was a part of this story. I was easily able to imagine I was a part of this book.
Three women who find their lives going in directions that they hadn't planned on. Sometimes unexpected things turn into unexpected blessings. I enjoyed reading about how these women changed along with their live circumstances, some more gracefully than others.
This is a wonderful story about three very strong women who after a birthday weekend each find that their lives are going to change due to events that take place during that weekend. They all find their lives going in directions that they never thought were possible. Each will find new strengths that were always within them that they did not know about. Sometimes โaccidentsโ can turn out to be blessings in disguise! Thank you to NetGally and the publisher for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
The ladies in my buddy read overwhelmingly loved this book. I didn't. It was too much like a Lifetime Movie for me. While I enjoy a Lifetime Movie once in a while, I don't want to read one. Unpopular opinion.
The book focuses on Cass, an alcoholic, who finds herself pregnant with her dead boyfriend's (Ben) baby. (He died from drinking.) Cass cleans herself up and ends up living with Ben's brother, Scotty, a professional baseball player. They are very different people, but you know where this is going. I appreciated that this book attempted to give voice to those who are in recovery. Alcoholism is such a difficult disease.
I'm in the minority here, but this book just didn't resonate with me. I felt that Jess and Liz were both a little spoiled, and Jess was holding a grudge with her parents for the way she was brought up. However, as always, it's easy to change your entire life and career when money isn't an object. Coming from money provides that level of comfort and so for that I felt that both their changes seemed a little too easily for them.
The writing was good and it was an easy read, however I really just didn't feel the story was genuine. Many others loved this book so don't let my review sway you from giving it a try.
The Happy Accidents is at its heart a book about friendship and growth. After a weekend of adventure all three ladies face the consequences of their actions. These characters and situations are complex and relatable. This read would make an excellent choice for book clubs. Lots to unpack and discuss.

Sisters Jess and Liz and their childhood friend, Chloe, take a weekend trip to a Connecticut Resort Casino to celebrate Jessโs birthday.
Jess convinces the other two to agree to an โadventure pactโ where they will throw the dice, and each accepts the first adventure opportunity that comes their way.
As they return to their regular lives, each sister will face a significant, life-altering consequence because of what happened during their weekend.

I love reading books about womenโs friendships and how the bonds these relationships create support them through the challenges they face in life, even if they follow different paths.
In Happy Accidents, we follow three women as they learn how the worst situations sometimes offer an opportunity that ends up being the best thing that couldโve happened. I enjoyed each womanโs journey as they worked through their individual challenges that many women can relate to---family needs vs. individual, career risk/reward decisions, and authentically living life to the fullest.
One facet of womenโs stories often used is tying a womanโs happiness and fulfillment to children. I do not doubt that having a child is the most important and rewarding relationship a woman can have but I wish it wasnโt used so often as the best way to live a fulfilled life. Even so, I appreciated the good intentions around this sub-plot and its resolution.
This book will resonate with many women and would make a fantastic Book Club selection for all genders. After a summer of romances, I embraced this novel with open arms and am already looking forward to her next book.
What a amazing journey this book brings you on. Two sisters and a best friend. Sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone is a good thing and you see what your true calling is. That is what how this book made me feel. If you never try, you will never know if itโs more then you can handle. You get a feel for 3 different lifestyles that are relatable to us all. A 5 star must read. You will love the characters and your heart with hurt and be full.
I received a advanced copy by the author in exchange for a voluntary honest review.
It all began with a girlโs night out where Jessie, her sister Liz and her best friend Chloe decide a little fun is in order and where better than a fun filled night at the casino. Choices that were made that night are about to change not only the present but the future as well.
Three woman all at different stages in their lives as one is recently divorced and struggling in her career, one has a successful career that is about to come crashing down and one is a married stay at home mother. Their lives will never be the same as they are forced to re-evaluate every aspect of their lives and discover what will truly make them happy.
The characters are relatable and there are certain to be aspects of their journey that will appeal to everyone in one way or another as they are forced to acknowledge if they are truly happy with their lives or worried about upsetting the status quo.
The Happy Accidents by Jamie Beck
Thanks so much to @writerjamiebeck @amazonpublishing @letstalkbiikpromo for the e-ARC copy of this book!
The story is told by three different womenโs points of view. I really enjoyed the female characters. This story was about the women working through life decisions and challenges. I liked how they supported one another as they dealt with the fall out of each of their actions.
This was a quick and enjoyable read that I would recommend!!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC!
This was my first novel by Jamie Beck. While I did love her writing style, I didn't enjoy this one as much as I had hoped. Honestly, the three main characters really annoyed me particularly Liz. I also didn't really love the storyline about Liz being a talk show host. I just found that cheesy, and something I was not interested in reading about. I just thought the "bad night out" would've been something much more dramatic than losing 5,000 gambling, and worried about your career because you had a drunk moment caught on tape. Maybe I am just so used to reading thrillers, I was hoping for a bit more darker of a storyline or "secrets" that the 3 main characters shared. Sadly, this one wasn't for me.
I loved following along with Jess, Chloe and Liz. I love watching how their families grow and how they intertwine with each other.
The growth of these 3 women is such a good story. The writing is spot on!
I finished this book full of so many emotions. It, quite simply, made my heart happy. THE HAPPY ACCIDENTS by Jamie Beck grabbed me from the beginning as I followed three very different woman as they dealt with the consequences of one night. Jessie has had a rough year, and for her birthday all she wants is to have fun with her sister and best friend, asking them both to be open to whatever adventure came their wayโฆwhich sounds good, until those choices force them to re-evaluate their paths and future.
Written in alternating viewpoints, I enjoyed seeing how each woman handled the consequences and changes their one night had on their futures. It was also interesting to watch as each examined their ideas about themselves, their pasts, and what they thought they wanted in their futures, and I loved how they helped each other cope with the changes and decisions. Beck wrote a wonderful story and created interesting and nuanced characters to inhabit it.
This is my first read by Jamie Beck and I am extremely glad I picked it up. Now that I have discovered her, I will be checking her backlist and watching for her next one. Grab a beverage and your favorite reading spot, curl up, and enjoy!
Thanks to the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the novel. All opinions are my own and freely given.

This quote sums up THE HAPPY ACCIDENTS by Jamie Beck perfectly! Itโs a quick and enjoyable read about three childhood friends who let loose one night at a casino and end up turning their lives upside down. I found myself rooting for sisters Jess and Liz and their best friend Chloe, as they deal with the fall out from their impulsive actions and start transforming their lives to become more fulfilling than they could have ever imagined. An overall great story of steadfast friendship, being true to yourself and not being afraid of change!
What a heartfelt little surprise this one turned out to be. I read a lot of thrillers these days and every now and then I need something a bit more straightforward, and this hit the spot. Here we have three very different women (two sisters and their friend) all on different paths in their lives. Jess is a free spirit, an artist, and definitely walks to the beat of her own drum. She is recently divorced from the love of her life because she didn't want to become a mom, which they both agreed to but he changed his mind along the way - and she's reeling from the breakup and possible regret. Then we have her younger sister, Liz. Liz works in the morning tv show industry, but has a very public drunken rant about her unqualified co-host, which derails her career. She is very used to caring about what people think and appearing to have it all. She's at a crossroads and not sure how to move ahead. Lastly, we have Chloe - mother Earth. Amazing mom, loving and supportive wife. However, she is feeling unfulfilled and perhaps a tad restless and resentful. She's ready for a change in her life and to do something for herself, but where is her support? One birthday weekend and life takes a turn for them all - and they get to forge new paths in life.

Sisters Jess and Liz and their good friend Chloe celebrate Jessโs birthday at a casino. That night they make pack to follow their dreams. Prior to this night, life had taken an unexpected turn for each of them. Their lives had not turned out as they had originally anticipated.
This fateful night out impacted their lives and those closest to them in so many ways. At first it seemed like a night of regret, but in the end it turned out to be the catalyst for change that they each needed to better their lives.
I really enjoyed this womenโs fiction, the characters were well developed. The bonds between the three women were strong and something all females should strive for. Marriages and careers take different paths but friends can be there to support these turbulent times.
Most women will identify with one or all of these women. I highly recommend you add this book to your TBR! It was a quick read and I found myself compelled to come back to it each time.
I enjoyed this book, which revolves around three women: Chloe, the only married one, and two sisters, Jess, a free-spirited artist, and Liz, a host of a network morning show. After making a pact to be uninhibited, all three make decisions that negatively impact their lives. Without giving anything away, the resulting fallout of their actions and how each woman grows and deals with the impact is the heart of the story.
As a male reader of romance and womenโs fiction, I am greatly interested in how men are portrayed in these types of literature. Iโm always looking for the romance in womenโs fiction books, and the men are portrayed positively in Chloe and Lizโs stories. Chloeโs husband eventually becomes supportive of the โnewโ Chloe, and Liz finds happiness with a partner in her new business venture. Jessโs experiences are different. There was a split with her long-time husband (I judged neither at fault), but Jessโs later experience with Josh shows him to be an unlikeable character. Thus, I had no problem with how Ms. Beck portrays the male characters.
I heartily recommend this moving story of the personal growth of the three main female characters. An excellent story!
I received an ARC from NetGalley, am voluntarily reviewing the book, and the opinions expressed here are my own. Although I purchased a copy of the book when the book became available, the review is based on the ARC.
Two sisters and their close friend have very different plans for their futures and very different expectations for their lives. What happens when these three women find their futures in flux and their best-laid plans gone astray? And how can one night out change so many lives?
Jess, Liz, and Chloe find their lives completely changed after one night of casino adventure. What first seems like a disaster for all three women becomes an opportunity for each to examine their choices and create new lives for themselves under their own rules. They each face obstacles with the people around them, but they learn to lean on each other and their own self-belief.
This was a quick read and a good reminder that our lives arenโt set in stone. I loved the closeness of the three women throughout the book. What a wonderful thing to have lifelong relationships that continue to support us through major life changes!
Thanks to Netgalley and letโs talk books promo for the gifted copy.
This was an enjoyable and quick read. I got irritated with the characters but still kept coming back to the book wanting to see what was going to happen. This is the equivalent of a movie you get sucked into on tv- a lot of fun.
