The Brenda Novak books I have read thus far have all been amazing! She was becoming another beach read go to author similar to Elin Hilderbrand for me. The plot of this one was a little different than those yes, but I assumed that because I enjoyed her beach reads so much this one would be a good fit for me. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. I wasn't aware this was part of a series, therefore I felt I was missing some parts of the back story. I also had a hard time connecting with the love story as well. I understand loving someone from a distance for years but my goodness dude just say it already! It kind of felt slow and drawn out. This almost read like a novella fleshed out to be a full scale book and it shouldn't have been. In the future I think I'll stick with her beach reads as those truly have my heart.

This was an okay read. I found out after reading this is a part of a series but honestly, I was able to read it as a stand-alone and I never felt lost or as if I was missing something. I just for some reason couldn't connect with this one. I've read a couple of her previous reads and I enjoyed how she writes engaging characters and plots but this one just didn't do it for me.

Fans of Brenda Novak's two series (Whiskey Creek and Silver Springs) with delight in this crossover novel, as the next Amos brother from Whiskey Creek finds love. However, if it's been a while since you read the original novels introducing the Amos brothers, you might feel a bit out of the loop because main characters, Natasha and Mack, have a long history introduced in an earlier book. It's easy enough to pick up the pieces, but a lot blanks had to be filled throughout the novel. Still, this is a treat for fans of both series.

In terms of storytelling, the romance felt a little lacking because it all hinged on the characters finally giving into feelings that have existed for years. They gave into those feelings seven years ago (highlighted in a novella) but that didn't work out, so now she's leery and he's finally ready to connect. The romance felt too much like a given rather than watching them fall in love. Mack's relationship with her son, though, was great. Another problem in the book, however, was the plot seemed to go off in a few too many different directions. First it's Natasha moving on and dealing with the fallout of a divorce and tragedy at work, which is how she ends up in Silver Springs. Then it's about her son's paternity and fighting with her ex. Then another tragedy happens (no spoilers as to what) and suddenly she's back in Whiskey Creek and Silver Springs and the ex-drama has been completely forgotten. I expected some additional drama after the Whiskey Creek resolution, but nothing came. I don't think this book does the Silver Springs series justice, feeling far more like a Whiskey Creek novel.

As a whole, I'm glad I read this novel. It has the romantic charm I've come to associate with Brenda Novak and I appreciated the attempt at blending the two series. There were a few flaws in the storytelling trying to do too much, but it was worth the read.

I did not finish this book because once I realized that it was part of a series I lost interest. I kept feeling like I was missing something. The writing is good and the author is someone I would definitely read again so I am giving it 4 stars for those reasons.

I had reservations about this book.
I mean the Mack has already broken Natasha’s heart TWICE. I was really worried he’d be unlikeable and she’d be a push over.
I should have had more faith in Brenda Novak. She is a gifted writer and makes this work.
There is so much going on in this novel … starting over … single mom … a shooting …
You won’t get bored. LOL
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest review.

I Loved this book! I love how Brenda Novak brought Whiskey Creek and Silver Springs together in this amazing book! I did find a typo in the epilogue. Tash says she's 7 months instead of 7 weeks.

I loved this story, the characters everything really. It is one you will not want to put down. I read it in just a couple hours because I could not put it down. Yes this is book 8 in the Silver Springs series but it can be read as a standalone. I have not read them all. It also ties in with the Whiskey Creek series, which I have not read all of them yet either. I loved getting to go back to both Whiskey Creek and Silver Springs while reading this story. As always the author gives us great detail into her towns so you can feel like you are there with the characters.

Natasha Gray is a pediatrician who is moving to Silver Springs to take a job at New Horizons Girls & Boys Ranch as a nurse. Her practice and her marriage has completely fallen apart and she is in need of a new start. This job is a starting place for her and her son to rebuild their life.

Mack Amos and his brothers took in Natasha and her mom after their parents were married for a short time. Natasha always had feeling for Mack that went beyond step-brother/family but at the time thought Mack was not interested in that way at all with how he kept pushing her away.

The characters go through a deal of struggles and turmoil that may just break every bond the Amos brothers had with Natasha because of her mom.

This is more than just a romance story, It is a story of a suspense, turmoil, struggles and forgiveness. If you are looking for a story that is going to give you all the feel then this is for you! This author will always give you stories that will take your emotions for a ride.

This is the third novel that I have read by Brenda Novak. She is an author who has a talent for writing engaging characters and plots. Those who enjoy women’s fiction may want to read this one.

This time, the primary protagonist is Natasha (Tash). For reasons that readers will discover, her childhood was not easy. Now, Tash is an adult. She thought that she was just where she wanted to be. Tash completed medical school, married and had a son. As the novel opens, many things are falling apart. (No spoilers although it is hard not to include them). Tash is doing her best to readjust and adapt.

Another primary character, Mack, has known Tash since she was in high school. What will happen in their relationship? There will be at least one surprise (again no spoiler so will not stay what).

In addition to telling Mack and Tash’s stories, readers spend time at Tash’s job, with her son and more. They also follow some plot strands that have to do with Mack’s brothers. Read the book to find out more.

In my opinion, this novel has a subtext about who and what makes a family. Also think about who finds whom as per the title.

All in all, another good read from this popular author.

WARNING: Many reviews and the book descriptions on sites like Amazon tell things that I was careful not to include in this review. Also note that this title is part of a series. I have not read the other entries and did not find that to be a problem.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Dr. Natasha Gray moves to Silver Springs with her 6 year old son, after losing her medical practice. Her longtime friend, Mack insists on helping her. Natasha has been in love with Mack most of her life and wants him to leave as quick as possible, so she can hide these feelings. But he remains to help her and her son.
I really felt sorry for Natasha in this book, having to deal with the loss of her practice and the verbal abuse from her ex-husband, as well as some extra drama and emotional issues going on.
I absolutely loved every second of this book and could not put it down once I got started with it.

When I Found You
Silver Springs series, Book 8, Whiskey Creek series, Book 11
Brenda Novak, author

Whiskey Creek meets Silver Springs as Natasha Gray and her six year old son, Lucas move to her new position at a school for troubled youth. Mack Amos, her long lost love has agreed to help her move. Hopeful of beginning her healing process after loosing her medical practice and her marriage in Los Angeles, things grow even worse for her, as her mother is arrested and Mack's father fights for his life. Will Mack and Tasha ever find their happily ever after or will this new crisis finally seal their fate?

Brenda Novak does it yet again with a well told story of two, broken lost young people from two very dysfunctional families. I highly recommend this novel and all the rest of the Whiskey Creek and Silver Springs series.

I was gifted an advanced reader copy from Netgalley, the publisher and the author. I leave this review of my own volition.

So getting into this book I thought it was gonna be a fluffy summery starting over second chance at romance kinda thing. It wasn't that way at all. I mean Natasha was trying to start over when a nurse at her practice messed her over and then her husband chose that time to call quits. Thankfully she had her Mack around to help her out but never expect him to look for more then just helping her out. There was so much to enjoy about this book there was plenty of family drama going around and its understandable. Things can be seen as wrong and confusing and there was so much drama when it when it came to the relationship between Mack and Natasha. Then there was her ex and sons situation there's a whole mess with that. Poor Natasha can't seem to catch a break but at least there is Mack helping her out on the way. Overall I really enjoyed this book there was so much going on that it pretty much kept me hooked.

When I Found You by Brenda Novak is the eighth book in the contemporary romance Silver Springs series, but it can be read as a standalone. Each book in the series features different main characters and not only have a missed a few, but have read them out of order with no problems. Natasha Gray is moving to Silver Springs with her son to start over. Her marriage has ended as well as her paediatric practice. She hired a nurse practitioner who endangered patients lives, and even though she is in prison, Natasha still feels responsible. She has taken a job as a nurse at the New Horizons Girls & Boys Ranch hoping to get back on her feet. Her sort of stepbrother, Mack Amos, helps her with the move and to get settled in. Years earlier, Natasha was in love with Mack and still has feelings for him, so wants him to move on quickly. What Tash doesn't realize is that Mack has feelings for her.

I enjoyed this newest Silver Springs story. Natasha (Tash) is such a sympathetic character. She has had a hard life from the time she was a young girl. She pulled herself up by her bootstraps to become a pediatrician and begin her own practice, only to get knocked down again, but she is not giving up. Mack is a swoon-worthy hero. When he finds out what has happened to Tash, he steps up right away to help her. Their past is revealed throughout the story and it explains a lot about what is happening in the present. I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Tash and Mack grow, but it wasn't an easy one, with their complicated history. Then there is her son, Lucas. He was adorable and it did not take him long to get attached to Mack. He was a typical six year old wanting attention, love and time. This was an emotional second chance story with complex characters. There were a few bumps in the road to their romance, and at one point I thought it was all going to fall apart. I was sure I knew what was going to happen, but there was a twist that had the story going in a different direction. There was also another storyline happening in Whisky Creek (a different series) that has Mack running home. A lot is happening in this one, but Brenda Novak ties it all together in a wonderful conclusion. There was also a short prequel which further shared information from Tash's and Mack's past, which I enjoyed. I will definitely continue reading stories from Silver Springs. I definitely recommend this one to those who enjoy contemporary romance, stories about small towns, and second chance romance.

Brenda Novak is quickly becoming one of my very favorite authors to read. I just love her characters, storylines, and writing style. When I Found You sucked me right from the first page. This is the story of Natasha and Mack. Their family drama gets in the way a few times, but they've finally found their way to each other. This is a book of forgiveness, trust, family, friendship, and love. It is full of swoon worthy romance scenes and offers a couple sub plots that keep the drama going. I would definitely recommend this book and all of the Whiskey Creek and Silver Springs series titles. I consider When I Found You a must read summer 21 read! Grab it and hit the beach, you won't regret it!

When I Found You by Brenda Novak is the eighth book in the contemporary romance Silver Springs series. Now as with a lot of romance series the main characters in each of the Silver Springs series change in each new novel so they can be read as a standalone if choosing to do so.

Natasha Gray has just hit a low point in her life and is hoping that the move to Silver Springs will be the fresh start that she needs. Fresh off a divorce with a husband she never really loved and having just lost her pediatric practice when a nurse endangered patients lives Natasha needs to completely reset and to focus on a new job and her son.

Helping Natasha with her move to Silver Springs is Mack Amos, the one man Natasha had truly fallen for but never could have. Mack is the youngest son of a man Natasha’s mother had once married and is several years older than Natasha so the relationship had always been taboo but there was that one night seven years ago that Natasha will never forget.

Brenda Novak is an author I discovered a few years back and immediately wanted to go back and read all of her work as I loved what I had read. Of course I haven’t actually been able to do that just yet but have read quite a few of her extensive catalog and always love them. The characters seem to come to life and I’m always pulled into the story and When I Found You was much the same experience. I’ve not read all of the Silver Springs series myself and of course this read fine on it’s own and was really enjoyable.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Brenda Novak has done it again. This is a great book. The two main characters are Nastasha and Mack. Nastasha has had some terrible problems. Mack tries to help her with everything. They work to solve her problems and find love.

Natasha Gray is trying to move from under the dark cloud that has been hanging over her life. She's survived an upbringing by an addict mother, a bad marriage, and a horrible event at her first professional job. She has a young son so she keeps moving forward. That's why she's now in Silver Springs. Her job will be as nurse of the local school for troubled youths. When Mack Amos (from the Amos family in Whiskey Creek!) offers to help her move she gladly accepts. Long suppressed feelings between the two are soon out in the open but can they clear the hurdles of the past to finally be together? As you might imagine there will be plenty of obstacles in their way.
I liked this story and am glad that Brenda Novak tied up a (very big) loose thread from the Whiskey Creek series. I look forward to the next book in the Silver Springs series.

There hasn’t been a book written by Brenda Novak that I haven’t loved, so it is no surprise that I loved When I Found You, too. The one thing that stood out the most to me about this book were the characters. I was completely enraptured by them and was hooked by reading about them and the story. Intricate relationships; whether they be personal, professional, old, or new; create a novel so engrossing and engaging that I found myself reading far longer than I should. I happened to see how much was left of the book and felt disappointed that there was far less left than i thought. I was intrigued about the DNA test and everything that happened surrounding and leading up to it. I have always found this area to be controversial yet very interesting. There were so many different layers and stories within stories but it all linked together and blended perfectly. I really enjoyed reading this book.
