This was such a weird book for me. The friends to lovers romance aspect was really cute! Watching their story unfold was truly beautiful. The addition of the Game of Thrones style TV show being a backdrop was what made it odd to me. Granted, I love video games and any book that includes a nerdy character ARC is my jam. The odd thing about this one was how entwined their lives were with this particular show. It just didn't ring true to me. There's Fandom, then there's FANDOM. This is probably just a me thing so I don't want it to put anyone else off from the book. These are just my personal feelings about the book. Overall it was a great read and I look forward to more works from the author in the future!
I received an advanced copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you to NetGalley, Kensington, and Tash Skilton. ❤️
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me a free advanced copy of this book to read and review.
This was such a sweet friends-to-lovers book that spanned through college and now given them both a second chance when Nina & Sebastian are put forced to confront their pining feelings for each other. After their favorite show that brought them together canceled it also somehow abruptly finished their friendship, so when the show gets a reboot; they’re bothe surprised to see the other working for their fav show ANS to geek out. That also means that Sebastian has to finally tell Nina how he feels about her.
I loved how it explored Sebastian’s need for friendship that he thought he needed to give so much of himself of his relationships & friendships that it would make people like him. I really connected with his growth as he stood up for his self. Nina also grew in not realizing that her relationship with Sebastian is not like her parents and needs to allow herself to stop comparing.
How wouldn't love a Hollywood Ending. That is what i love most. great read and enjoyed all that i had read. This was good from beginning to end. Yeah!!

Tash Skilton was a new to me author, but no longer, she is now a to be read author. I loved Hollywood Ending..
It was not the best. I liked it well enough to finish reading it but didn't really care for the story, i did love all the movie horror stuff.
⭐️⭐️/5 Stars
DNF at 36%. I just found this was such a slow story and I did not connect to the characters. Not a book for me.
I really liked the premise of this book, but I was not able to get into it like I would have hoped. Despite Nina and Sebastian having been friends for many years, I did not feel a connection between them. I was intrigued by the idea of a shared love for a TV show bonding them, even after they had a big falling out as friends, but even this did not provide them with the chemistry that I would have liked to see.
this was such a nice and cute read! I absolutely loved the lightheartedness and the characters that were so well formed. I am a sucker for a good second chance/ friends to lovers romance and it was definitely that!!
During college, Nina and Sebastian bonded over their love of the fantasy TV series, Castles of Rust and Bone. But at a party, as the series was cancelled, their friendship abruptly ended and they went their separate ways.
Five years later, Nina is doing social media for the streaming service that broadcasts the show, and Sebastian is a PA to the production company involved in the Castles reboot.
They bump into each other at a LA studio and decide to reboot their friendship too.
This was a cute friends-to-lovers story with peeks into the worlds of TV production and fandom.
I enjoyed this romance about two super fans of a fantasy TV show (think Game of Thrones) who both end up working on the show’s remake.
Nina and Sebastian were best friends in college, they watched their favorite show together and were inseparable. Everything changed in their relationship after the finale episode, and now the two haven’t spoken in years.
Nina and Sebastian both wanted more than friendship from their relationship in college, and when they see each other after 5 years, time slips away and they relate to each other just like they used to. They still have issues to work through, however. Sebastian is insecure and worried that everyone around him will leave, and Nina is afraid to let go and trust. They need to tell each other how they really feel but they’re getting in their own way.
I liked the way the author had them work through their issues, and I loved the other characters, who were quirky and memorable. The behind the scenes making of a TV show was interesting to read about and made a great backdrop for the story. There are genuinely funny parts too, which made the book even better.
I recommend this book, 4 stars. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
The story of Nana and Sebastian. They missed their chance in college, so will it work out for them now they meet again years later?
A fun read!
First of all I really love this cover. I was really hoping I would absolutely love this one… I thought it was okay. I felt like the story was missing something, but overall a good and quick read.
I wanted to like this, since i had liked Tash Skilton's previous books but this one turned out to be a miss for me. In all honestly, the only character I actually liked in the end was Millie. Now SHE deserves a story. Sebastian and Nina both lacked character development for me. And overall I really just did not like Nina. She has more issues than Vogue and needs a therapist. There were a couple of amusing parts, mostly based around the fake GoT type show. But overall this book dragged on. I just hope their next collaboration is better.
A solid rom-com for those who love Game of Thrones, fan-fiction, and behind the scenes glimpses of pop culture. The writing is a bit clunky, but I enjoyed our main characters and I love the authors' knowledge of TV and current culture.
I was given an advanced copy of this text by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This was a good book, but a pretty generic romance. I was hoping for a bit more (as was my wife) which made this a disappointment. Skilton can do better.

I received a digital ARC from NetGalley and Kensington Books in exchange for an honest review. Nina and Sebastian met in college, bonding over their love of the show "Castles of Rust and Bone." Senior year they throw an epic series finale watch party which ends up doubling as an end of friendship event. Five years later, Nina and Sebastian find themselves miles away from their alma mater, unbeknownst to each other, both in LA. And both working on different aspects of the top secret CoRaB reboot. Their paths cross, and they've both missed each other so much they decide to put the past in the past and start right where they left off. The problem is, they both have, and had, feelings for each other but it never seems to be the right time to share that information. Now that Nina is crashing at Sebastian's apartment while looking for a place of her own, how long can they keep up the pretense of just wanting to be friends?
This book had a lot of great aspects. I enjoyed the deep dive into Hollywood and fandom, how peeking behind the curtain can often ruin a much loved piece of pop culture. I appreciated the sibling relationships each had and how vastly different they were, Sebastian being very close to his sister while Nina and her sister, not so much. I loved Sebastian's journey to find his worth as a friend and human. But ultimately, this book just wasn't for me. There was so much build up to very little pay off. It was about 70% development, and then everything was very sudden. There was a side plot having to do with Nina and her father that had no real resolution other than a line in the epilogue. The chemistry between Nina and Sebastian built up but then when the match was struck it was the smallest fire ever and the result didn't match what had been growing between them.
I LOVED THIS ONE! I feel like this would make the cutest Netflix movie. This book follows Nina and Sebastian through their long standing friendship, love for one another, and ups and downs of their lives. I found myself wishing for certain resolutions of the plot, but the true ending was so much more emotional than I could have imagined. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for a copy of this book for an honest review.
While a clever premise, it would have been nice to have some romantic comment in the first 2/3 of the book, and not have it go from 0-60 in the last third.
This was just… okay.
This was a cute romantic comedy type book with a Hollywood setting.
From the description
All through college, Nina and Sebastian were sentence-finishing, secret-sharing BFFs, and absolute super fans of Castles of Rust and Bone. It was the kind of show—and the kind of friendship—that demands you’re all in, for the plot twists, the unresolved sexual tension, the weekly coup d’etat—and ultimately, the heartbreak.
I enjoyed this because I love the romantic sort of Love Rosie vibe between the two protagonists and also it was fun having the Hollywood vibe and fandom thrown in as well! Very light and cute! Would make a cute movie as well
