A quick read with kind characters, a sweet romance, and a lot of lucky coincidences - so, a perfect holiday read that will make a heartwarming Hallmark movie.

This was a short, sweet read perfect for the Christmas season! It was warm and I enjoyed the characters. I would have liked to learn more about a few but I know that would have changed the book into something else entirely! 4.5 stars. Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for the complimentary digital review copy of this title.

A sweet little hallmark Christmas movie book! I really enjoyed it but it was a super quick read. I felt like all the storylines were on extreme fast forward. I still enjoyed it but wish it was more developed.

Such is the stuff of a Hallmark Christmas movie...I can just see it now. Who doesn't love a single gal moving into an old farmhouse, finding Christmas, friendship and love? Ivy Perkins didn't expect to find all of that when she buys The Four Roses farmhouse, sight unseen. She is starting over after a divorce and just trying to find herself. What she finds is a lovely old Santa suit with a note in the pocket that peaks her interest. What she finds is a love interest in her real estate agent/ handyman Ezra. (Love the name) What she finds is a town full of friends.

This is a great Christmas read. You just feel good reading it. There are no unseen obstacles thrown in the way of the happiness. You feel like you are in the sweet town of Tarburton. You feel like yes, you could watch this movie on repeat every year.

Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for a gifted copy of this book.

In the pocket of the suit, Ivy finds a note from a little girl asking to bring her father home for christmas. Ivy goes on a quest to find out who this little girl is and her story. Along the way she starts to fall in love again, make new friendships, learns how kind people can be, and finds out the true meaning of christmas.

What a heartwarming delightful festive story. Just the type of book I needed this time of year while the world is still in such unrest. I was sad to have this story end.

This was such a magical, light-hearted read to kick of the holidays with! A newcomer in a small town, Ivy is the new owner of a farmhouse that is quickly falling apart. Very much outdated, Ivy sets out to slowly fix it up. But there’s more to this old run down place than what meets the eye. Ivy comes across the old owners Santa suit and soon discovers more about this small town and the magic that is Christmas.

This book was everything I could ever imagine. A divorced women needs a whole new start, and she decides to move and purchase this old while farmhouse. When she gets there, she realized that it needed a bunch of repairs, but it is furnished. She finds a Santa suit with a letter in it. She loves it so much that she is determined to find the owner.

This was the right amount of Christmas magic and love. The perfect book to start the holiday season off with.

The Santa Suit is a really cute story. It reminds me of a Hallmark movie.

I really admired Ivy’s character for her ability to jump into something that is out of her comfort zone. And the town’s characters seemed like great people.

The only complaint I have is the ending. It kind of ruined a lot of the book for me.

This book was such a perfect kick off to the holiday reading season. It had just the right amount of romance, mystery and Christmas magic to put me in a cozy, festive mood. I love a good small town story and enjoyed the seeing the shared histories of the characters develop across the story. Ivy fit into her new town perfectly, and I appreciated her honest determination and kind heart; I especially loved her interactions with those she grew close to. A deliciously sweet, quick read all wrapped up neatly in a big red Santa hat.

Thank you NetGalley for my copy of The Santa Suit! Longtime Mary Kay Andrews fan here! This was a fun Christmas book and I feel like it needs to be made into a Hallmark movie. I loved the setting with the old farmhouse and the cast of characters that went along with the story. I would love to see more of Phoebe in another book! There were a few details about NC life that weren't quite true, but it's fiction, so not a huge thing at the end of the day. 4 stars from me! Definitely recommend it for a fun, sweet holiday story.

Thus starts the quest to find the little girl who wrote the letter. Along the way she make friends in this small town and finds her way to love. This book is SO CUTE.

I'm not a big holiday book reader - but I love me some MKA and this little novella packs an adorable Christmas punch without too much cheesiness thrown in your face.

It's a little bit magical, has all the warm and cozy vibes, some mystery, some romance, and is a charming starting over story. And there's a dog :)

The perfect balance of everything you could want in a holiday story!

A wonderfully written story wholly embracing the magic of Christmas. After buying a farmhouse without seeing it she is ready for work and to be alone, but the amount of junk that was left behind is more then she bargained for. When she discovers an old Santa suit in a closet with a note written by a young girl wanting one wish for Christmas she is determined to find this girl. This brings her into town and into a special Christmas with more people and community then she had wanted, but may very well be what she needed.

When Ivy buys an old furnished farmhouse, sight unseen, she gains more than just a place to live.

This is a sweet, light hearted Christmas story. A much needed change from the Holocaust stories I’ve been reading.

Thank you to Mary Kay Andrew’s, St. Martin’s Griffin and Netgalley for sharing this ARC with me in exchange for an honest review.

The Santa Suit is a Hallmark movie in novella form. I know I just said this about The Holiday Swap, but it is even more true for The Santa Suit. You know the plot, just exchange firefighter with real estate agent.

Mary Kay Andrews tries to include not just romance but an uplifting, heart-warming storyline. Unfortunately, The Santa Suit is not so heart-warming and even less romantic. Instead, it is a shallow story filled with convenient coincidences, overly helpful neighbors, and people who seem to never work.

The Santa Suit is more contemporary fiction than romance. The romance was as nonexistent as the main character’s heating. (Ivy was apparently not as concerned about the freezing temperatures and heating in her house as she was with a random letter she found written 20+ years ago.) There was no chemistry, no courting, just all of a sudden kissing. She could have just tripped into his arms and melted into a kiss, and it would have been about the same. We all knew it was going to happen; I just wanted some chemistry and actual rapport built before it did.

I realize I sound a bit like a Scrooge, but this book has such high ratings. I was hoping for a bit more holiday magic and depth and a bit less luck. Ultimately, I found that That Santa Suit had nothing of substance within its 224 pages. It could have benefitted from at least 100 additional pages and some more descriptive writing. I am not a fan of super descriptive writing, but Andrew’s writing in this book was similar to if I was trying to write an unbiased, fact-based report for Congress. I have never read anything like it within the pages of something fictitious. If you told me that The Santa Suit had been rushed to publication, I would not be the least bit surprised.

Overall, The Santa Suit was a disappointing read that was meh at best. I think it has potential, but that potential was left unfulfilled. I do not see myself recommending this to anyone unless they need something super shallow filled with rainbows and Santa and luck.
