I am all for Christmas romances, and this one was delightful, giving me all the right feels! I would love for this book to be made into a #hallmarkmovie ASAP! Ivy is looking for a fresh start after her recent divorce. She purchases an old farmhouse, sight unseen, and hopes for her new beginning. While cleaning out, Ivy finds an old Santa suit with a letter inside. She quickly starts to wonder about the story behind the letter. This book had a good mix of mystery, holiday, and romance vibes.
Thank you, St. Martin’s Press, for my complimentary copy for my honest review.

This was such a fun story revolving around an old Santa Suit. Newly divorced, Ivy, moves into an old farmhouse that isn't exactly what she was expecting. Luckily her real estate agent lives close by and offers to help her out. When she find the old Santa Suit, along with a note in the pocket, she decides to investigate who wrote the note and if the Christmas wish came true.
This book gives you all the feels and is perfect for setting the mood for the holiday season. I would love to see it made into a Hallmark movie. A great story with wonderful characters.

I received a complimentary digital review copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I picked up The Santa Suit after enjoying another book by this author. It was exactly what I was expecting for a Christmas romance and I was overall happy with the book for the majority of the time I was reading.
This book follows main character Ivy, who has gotten divorced in the past year and decided to buy an old farmhouse in a small town completely different from where she was to start a new chapter. There's a love interest, some Christmas cheer etc.
Early in the book, Ivy starts renovating the farmhouse she has purchased and notices one of the doors have what looks like a mezuza on it. This is a little weird in the book, because we learn that the people who lived her previously were the epitome of Christmas, having the most decorated house, dress up as Santa and Mrs. Claus every year, but I let it slide to see where the story was going.
Then, right at the end of the book, when everything is revealing itself a conversation occurs between Ivy and her love interest about how he had been looking into the history of the farm house, and wouldn't you know the people who lived here were Jews. From there the book concludes by talking about all the Chsirtmassey things that the couple had done and how great it had been from the community.
As a Jewish reader, I do not understand why this needed to be included. Why do you need to have the two people who are the epitome of Christmas to this town be Jewish, but give no explanation for why they are observant of one Jewish custom (mezuza) but then celebrate the holiday that pretty much overturns the whole religion? Overall it felt like adding this in was trying to make it seem like the only important holiday is Christmas and all religions need to follow it.
Have you read this book? Did I miss something important?

I adored this book. Mary Kay Andrew and a holiday book in one? Yes please. This book had all the charm that her typical books have but an added extra with the holiday theme. The only negative was that it wasn’t long enough!

I opened my holiday reading with a bang! The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews is heartwarming and perfect for the season. I loved Ivey and her strength in taking a chance to start over, deciding what she wanted and going after it. How many people would decide they want to buy a farm, away from everything, then purchase it sight unseen? That has the potential for going very wrong, and while things do, she finds more strength and purpose. When she finds the Santa Suit and the note, her heart and curiosity about solving the mystery lead her to find the best parts of a small town and finding her place in it. Ezra’s place in all of it is the star on top of the tree.
This was a wonderful start to the holiday season. Grab a copy, some hot chocolate, a cozy blanket, and read in front of the twinkling lights.
Thanks to the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the novel. All opinions are my own and freely given.

I feel like Mary Kay Andrews can do no wrong. Even though I read this book outside of the Christmas season, it brought me there, which I loved. The characters and storyline had a bit of mystery to it, which i loved. A feel good story.

The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews is a fun Christmas story that I loved. Mary Kay Andrews is one of my favorite authors, she can write mysteries as well as romantic comedies. After her divorce Ivy Perkins buys a farmhouse, Four Roses, without seeing it first. While cleaning out the farmhouse which was full of stuff, she finds a Santa suit, with a note in the pocket. All this little girl wanted was her dad home from the war. Ivy was determined to fine the child to see if she got her wish. I found this book to be filled with Christmas spirit, and I highly recommend this book and this author, you won't be disappointed.

Ivy has just gone through a messy, devastating divorce. She wants to start all over and decides to purchase an old farmhouse, sight unseen, in a rural small town area. The actual buildings don't really live up to the picture online, but she will just have to work on restoring everything. The real estate agent is also an excellent handyman, so Ivy feels a little better. Ezra helps Ivy find help with things his handyman skills don't cover.
Even though the family of the deceased owner have taken a few things away, many items have been left behind. Ivy hears from townspeople that the couple who lived in the farmhouse took Christmas very seriously with lots of lights, decorations and they even were Santa Claus and Mrs. Santa Claus every holiday season. Ivy finds the Mrs. Santa Claus outfit and it fits her perfectly. When she pulls out the Santa suit there is a letter from a little girl that piques Ivy's curiosity. Can she find this little girl from long ago and renew her own Christmas spirit?
I know when I open a book by Mary Kay Andrews, I am in for a special treat. This beautiful novella charmed me from the very beginning. I am writing this a couple months before Christmas. This is one of the best Christmas tales I have ever read. It reminds us that Christmas is about more than the usual rush and activities and more about caring about others, becoming part of new traditions and showing love in many ways.
There is something extra sweet about small town holidays and their special celebrations. I'm a sucker for small town tales across different genres. It is really lovely that more authors are writing Christmas books than ever before. After the past couple years we truly do "need a little Christmas" as a popular song tells us.
If you only read one Christmas book this season, it needs to be The Santa suit.

This is a fun, light book about starting over. Ivy, who is recently divorced, moves to a new area. Upon cleaning out the contents of the new house she find a Santa suit with a letter in the pocket. She is determined to find the person who wrote the letter. Since this book is centered around Christmastime, expect a miracle to occur. I highly recommend this book!

The Santa Suit by Mary kay Andrews
This was a cute holiday short read about a post divorce woman who buys a house sight unseen to rehab. This is a common premise for this author and maybe not a good idea for someone who does not know what a monkey wrench looks like and cannot seem to do anything around the house herself except paint. But she finds friends and a man right away there is a very touching ending. it was a quick enjoyable read.

Cute story of starting over. Friendship. Sting women. Obviously set during the holidays and it has a Cottage that needs mending so perfect setting.

Ivy Perkins is newly divorced and wanting a fresh start. She steps outside her comfort zone and buys a farmhouse, sight unseen, in a quaint town. When she arrives with her dog Punkin she is surprised when she is met by the real estate broker, Ezra Wheeler. He is very helpful and explains the history of the house which was left in a state of disrepair. The Four Roses Farmhouse belonged to the Rose family known for their kindness and generosity especially around Christmas.
As much as Ivy wants to maintain her independence she realizes that she needs to accept the help of her neighbors. She meets a girl Phoebe at the diner who shares her online romance situation seeking advice. Although Ivy started to feel overwhelmed by the unexpected renovations needed, she slowly begins to find her place in town and with her neighbors.
She finds a box in her closet left by the previous owners with a Santa suit in it along with some other memorabilia from the past. She is intrigued by her discovery and seeks to learn more about the people who lived there.
It’s a delightful story that is easy to read and perfect to raise your holiday spirits.
Thank you to NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read and review this book. My reviewed is my honest and unbiased opinion.

I love a story with a little bit of Christmas magic--- and The Santa Suit has just that! A little bit of mystery, a little bit of small town charm and a whole lot of romance blend together wonderfully to make this a fantastically fun Christmas read... the perfect blend of heart and whimsy. I personally love a hood Hallmark-like Christmas tale and to me, I couldn't help but feel this one had all the makings of a great one--- and I mean that as the highest compliment possible.
Now, because I do tend to review primarily Christian reads, I will say that this doe not fall into that category. That said, it is a fairly clean read. There is a little bit of language throughout, but not a ton. There it is also quite clear that the romance takes on a more physical aspect, however, it's all off the pages and not graphic at all, so for me personally I didn't have any issues with that.
Overall, I found this to be an enjoyable and quick holiday read that fans of holiday romances are sure to enjoy!
**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

A fun Christmas book where everyone has a problem that comes together in the end. The perfect book to read on a cold afternoon as there is a story there without all the fluff.

The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews sets the scene for the upcoming Christmas season with a delightful tale with new beginnings, New friendships, and discovering hidden secrets of the past. The importance of giving of yourself and your time is centerfold as mysteries unfold and romances develop. It was a great read.

As always, I love everything that MKA writes and The Santa Suit was no exception! This was such a cute and light hearted Christmas novel and it put me in the mood for Christmas trees and hot chocolate. I would highly recommend it to those who love MKA and if you’re looking for a fun Christmas novel. Thank you netgalley for my free copy.

Such a good Christmas Novella. The Santa Suit follows the story of newly divorced Ivy Perkins, who buys a farmhouse, site unseen. She is desperate to start a nee life and The Four Roses sounds like just the place to do that. The house hasn’t been emptied and she is surrounded by the previous owners, memories. She gets a bit melancholy with all the changes & the holidays coming up. While cleaning the house out, she finds a Santa Suit at the top of a closet, in the pocket of the suit, there is a note, wishing a little ones father comes home from war, at Christmas. Finding this note sets Ivy on a path of finding out who could have written the note. She goes to town and starts her research. While figuring out this mystery Ivy starts to heal and find peace. The town fits her and things are going well. Will Ivy find the owner or the letter? Can Ivy and her real estate agent become more than associates? I really enjoyed this one. Mary Kay Andrews I’d one of my favorite authors and this story didn’t disappoint.
