If you are looking for an uplifting holiday book with charming characters and a fantastic setting, this is the book for you. I loved Ivy and the town she relocates to after her divorce. A charming tale that was an easy read packed with holiday cheer. I plan to purchase a copy for my mother-in-law who has a love for all things Christmas.

I’ve never seen a Hallmark Christmas movie but I have a tradition of reading the equivalent every year starting on Black Friday. I call it “binging on Christmas fluff” (hence the shelf name). This book (at 224 pages, I think it’s technically a novella) fits the bill quite nicely. It was a quick and easy read, low on annoying miscommunications and high on scenic twinkling lights. I liked that it’s a closed door romance (while I’m generally fine with spicy scenes, they can sometimes be a bit awkward in Christmas books). There’s a cute dog, plenty of snow, and a buff dude with butterscotch-colored hair dressed up in a Santa suit. What more could you want?

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from St. Martin’s Press in exchange for an honest review.

I love everything Mary Kay Andrews writes, and her Christmas pieces are some of my favorites! [Appropriately named] Ivy buys a little farmhouse sight-unseen post divorce and discovers a little note in a Santa suit left behind in the closet of her new home. The note and the suit end up helping her connect to her new community - this novella-length story will be the perfect holiday read, light and uplifting. I am grateful to #NetGalley for the opportunity to preview #TheSantaSuit and am planning to reread it during my Christmas vacation! Loved this sweet holiday story!

What a sweet and precious way to start the holiday season! I absolutely fell in love with Ivy and Ezra, and let’s not forget the Santa Suit! I loved that there were perimeter characters that were just as vital to the story as the main characters. And I loved that the author created a little “Christmas Magic” with this novella! Love, Love, Loved this book and hope that everyone else has the chance to read it this holiday season!

Thanks to St. Martin’s press and NetGalley for the ARC of this book.
Following her divorce Ivy buys a farmhouse known as Four Roses, site unseen, in a small town in the mountains of North Carolina. What she didn’t know was this house was famously know as the Christmas house too. The Rose’s were an extremely generous couple who dressed as Santa and Mrs. Clause every year. When she arrived at the house with the realtor Ezra she finds that the house is full of the former owners things. Amount those things she finds Bob Rose’s Santa suit. She finds a note from a little girl in the pocket that sends her on a journey to find out if her wishes came true. I don’t think I’ve ever read a Mary Kay Andrew’s book that I didn’t like. This book goes on Sale on Tuesday September 28,2021.

The Santa Suit
author: Mary Kay Andrews
St. Martin's Press
Mary Kay Andrews' deep appreciation for the beauty and preservation of historical homes and objects is evident in her novella about the legacy of a vintage Santa suit discovered by Ivy Perkins in the closet of a rustic North Carolina farmhouse. As December snow covers Ivy's recently purchased Four Roses Farm in white winter beauty, this story of legacy and love will wrap you in warmth like an heirloom holiday quilt.
When Ivy gingerly unties the ribbon on an old hidden box, a luxurious, red velvet Santa outfit is revealed, along with soon to be seen possibilities for Christmas wonders and miracles. The newest resident of Tarburton, North Carolina is compelled to trace the suit's origin as she settles into her home, exuberant with the promises of a fresh start in the quaint community.
As Ivy is immersed in the joys of a small town preparing for Christmas, she and her dog Punkin warm up to new friends and neighbors. Her real estate agent, Ezra Wheeler, steps in with many kind, neighborly gestures at all the right times throughout the season. The project of tracing the history of the Santa suit deepens Ivy's connections to both the people and traditions within her surroundings.
The Santa Suit story has a welcoming holiday setting with memorable characters. I would love to stroll around the festive town square in December, sampling candy from Langley Sweets and cookies from women's church auxiliary booths while listening to locals singing carols. With mystery surrounding the Santa Suit plus the appeal of an old-fashioned Christmas, this book fulfills wishes for a holiday book of heritage, hope and love.

Are you looking to get your heart warmed along with all the Christmas feels? This is the book to curl up with. Ivy is settling in to her broken-down farm and loving every minute. She is consumed with curiosity about that child's note to Santa all those years ago. Looking for answers she meets the locals and starts to make the community her true home. Her real estate broker, Ezra, is the handsome, helpful Christmas gift she didn't know she wanted.

This is my first read of a Mary Kay Andrews novel and I really enjoyed her writing. It is a short book, perfect for the busy holiday season when we just want to take an escape break.

The Santa Suit is just the book to get into the Christmas spirit. All the characters are believable. Book Tour for The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews arriving on the 28th!
If you’ve been with me for a hot minute, you know Christmas is a season for me, and I absolutely love it. So, when I saw MKA had a new holiday release I was ecstatic. And can we talk about this cover? I love it!
.
MKA did not disappoint! I loved this one. It gave me all the wonderful holiday vibes - snow, peppermint (PSL what?!), holiday lights, closed door romance, and a family mystery. The mystery was so well done that I was surprised by it - it goes to show great a writer MKA is. This would be perfect on Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas or on Netflix. I’m not picky - just give me all the Christmas 🎄
.
The hugest thanks to St Martins Press and NetGalley for the advanced readers copy, for my honest review.

The Santa Suit was an enjoyable small town Christmas novella romance/mystery with a surprise ending. After a tough divorce, Ivy relocates herself and her pupper Punkin to a new state to start over. Small town living, making new friends, helping the community, some amateur sleuthing, and a second chance at love is what awaits her. A cute heartwarming Christmas read.

This was such a heartwarming story of a woman who got divorced and moved her whole life to a tiny town. She bought an old farm that ended up having a lot of history and meaning to the town. Ivy ended up being exactly what the town needed!

The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews
The Santa Suit is a sweet novel about moving, family and starting over when everything seems to have gone wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed this book except for a few minor details. The random swearing and the sex scene were totally unnecessary as neither added a single thing to the story.
This is more of a novella than a novel yet the character development was good and the characters were compelling and likable. I took one star off of my rating for the language and sex, although neither was excessive, neither was needed.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and Netgalley.

Newly divorced Ivy Perkins is ready for a change. She bought a charming farmhouse sight unseen and moved to a small town from Atlanta. While unpacking the house she finds a much loved velvet Santa suit with a note from a small child in the pocket—a request for her father to be found. This begins the search for an answer to this mystery, and a series of new friendships and beginnings for Ivy.

I absolutely loved this sweet story of second chances and beginning anew in small town life. The story was well written and a fun read from beginning to end. Another reviewer suggested this book as a good stocking stuffer, and it will definitely be on my list when I pick up gifts this year. A must read for the holidays.

After reading a few long mysteries and a serious memoir, I was ready for some light chick-lit reading and this book was perfect. Such a sweet story with good characters and some unexpected surprises that made me feel warm and fuzzy - - and in tears!

A perfect book for Christmas.

The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews is a wonderfully charming Christmas book that I really enjoyed. It is the kind of story you come to expect from this author. I was only introduced to Ms. Andrews several years ago and I just love her work. It is a novella so it will be a quick read.

While the story may be a quick read, the feelings are deep and the characters delightful. The setting is splendid taking place in a small town with endearing and quirky characters. Ms. Andrews has a way of making her characters come to life. You are drawn into the characters emotionally and this story even has a little bit of mystery thrown in for good measure.

The Santa Suit is heartwarming and to me that is perfect for a Christmas story. Consider adding this book to your holiday reading list. Mary Kay Andrews never disappoints. My only complaint was that it was over too quickly. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.

I would like to thank Mary Kay Andrews, St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Fresh on the heels of a divorce Ivy buys an old farmhouse sight unseen. When she arrives she is dismayed to discover that the previous family left the place fully furnished and full of belongings. Sorting through cupboards and closets Ivy comes across an old and beautifully made Santa suit. In the pocket she finds an old note from a child who’s Christmas wish is for her daddy to come home from the war. Ivy’s interest is piqued and she sets out to discover what happened to this little girl and her family. This mission thrusts Ivy into the thick of small town Christmas preparations and traditions when she was planning to lie low and ignore the holiday. With the help of a new girlfriend and her ever helpful, handy and handsome realtor, Ivy sets out on a Christmas mission.
With a little bit of mystery and a little bit of romance and a lot of Christmas atmosphere this book has everything a seasonal read needs.
Thank you to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
