Another fun read by Mary Kay Andrews! This is a perfect read for Christmas (or anytime if you love Christmas as I do. The Santa Suit that Ivy finds as she digs through all the stuff left in the old house she buys sight unseen leads to solving a mystery with unexpected consequences.

I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Ivy lost her job and her home when her husband hooked up with her best friend. She needed a new life and moved from Atlanta to a small community up north. Once she arrived, she found her farmhouse needed lots of work. Her experiences in fixing up the house were entertaining. Rummaging through the boxes left behind, Ivy discovers a Santa suit. The suit brings about the magic of Christmas and all the love, kindness, and community it brings to that special time of year. This is a wonderful book about the spirit of Christmas. Great characters, a community you would love to experience, and a mystery to be solved.

A cute, second chance, love story to get you in the mood for Christmas. New house, new town, new friends and a cute realtor male friend, might just be the things to help Ivy Perkins move on from her divorce and begin a new chapter in her life.
This was the first book I read by Mary Kay Andrews and it was amazing. To me it was a quick read because I wanted to know what would happen. If you are looking for a second chance romance centered around Christmas time, this book is for you.
I graciously received an advance e-copy for review. All opinions are my own.

If you're looking for a sugary sweet holiday read, look no further. This book is a Christmas themed romance complete with costumes, candy, decorations, and a remodel of an old farm house. So if you spend your time watching Hallmark Channel & Lifetime Christmas movies with a dash of HGTV, then this is the book for you.

Anyone else picturing this as a holiday Hallmark movie starring Candace Cameron Bure as Ivy? It’s a cute holiday novella with a dash of romance, friendship, and family tying it all together with a nice twist near the end. It’s a quick read and good for anyone who wants to read a story that restores their faith in others.

This is an excellent and heartwarming read from one of my favorite authors, Mary Kay Andrews! I honestly wasn't sure what to expect because this ones a lot shorter than her usual books but I think I loved it DESPITE the lower page count! Maybe even more? It's just absolutely perfect for the holiday season and I can't recommend it enough!

This book is absolutely fantastic! If you like your Christmas books to have all the elements of a perfect little Christmas with trees, a town full of friendly people, a little love match or two, and of course some snow you need to get this book and read it as soon as you possibly can!
I'll tell you just a little more about the book now but I'll do my best not to ruin a single thing for you.
Ivy Perkins has recently gotten divorces from her cheating husband. What's a girl to do? Well this girl packs up all her things, including her dog Punkin and her new little baby chicks of course, and moves into an old farmhouse. Thing is, she's never actually seen the house in person. She bought it from what she saw online so technically it's sight unseen but heck with it, this is her fresh start! When she gets to the farmhouse, known as The Four Roses, she realizes that it needs just a little more work than she thought it did. Plus, the family before her left almost everything there so she's got some sorting to do.
While looking around she finds a Santa suit in one of the closets. It's quite old but quality work. In the pocket of the suit is an old letter. It's a letter from a little girl asking Santa to bring her father home. This letter really sparks her interest and sets her off on a journey around the town to try to figure out who the little girl was who wrote it. She wants to know if she got her wish or not. Through this letter Ivy begins to piece together the mystery and she also makes some great new friends along the way.
Now, as all that is going on the realtor who sold her the house, Ezra, has been helping Ivy out quite a bit. He's going above and beyond the usual to help her fix up her place and make her feel more comfortable in her new home. She starts to depend on him quite a bit but is still hurt from what her husband did so she's definitely not looking for anything more than friendship. Right?
This book is so great for getting into the holiday spirit. Granted I read this right at the end of June but it worked for me because, well, Christmas in July of course!
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes the feel good happy adorable Christmas books that may have some touching moments but in the end leave you with a smile on your face!

*****Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher, I was able to read an advanced copy of this book.

This sweet Christmas novella is worthy to become a Hallmark Christmas movie for sure: second chance romance in a small-town setting with a little bit of magic thrown in. Appealing characters make the reader root for their requisite happy ending. Not much conflict or tension in the story, but readers should enjoy reading it in front of the fire with a cup of cocoa and the Christmas tree twinkling in the background!

A charming story that combines a mystery note found in an old Santa suit, a search for the person who wrote it, reuniting people who had been lost to each other for many years and romance. What more can you ask for in this sweet, heartfelt book.

A sweet and uncomplicated novella is just what many of us want to read right now. Ivy Perkins is recently divorced and unemployed, so she buys a farmhouse sight unseen, leaves the city, and starts her life anew. As she goes through the contests of the farmhouse, she finds a Santa suit that contains a note with a special wish from a child. Did the child get her wish?

The setting in a small town and the kindness and charm of its residents add to this heart-warming story. I thought it might be a predictable Christmas-y romance, but Andrews adds a nice twist of Christmas magic to make it uplifting and leave you smiling.

Thank you to Net Galley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC of this story in exchange for my honest review.

Mary Kay Andrews does it again! Proving herself not only the Queen of the Beach Read but also Queen of the Small Town Christmas Romance. I loved this book and all of the characters and I hope there is a follow up to it!!

Ivy moves to a small town, to a house she bought, sight unseen. Ezra is the real estate agent who sold her the house. Christmas is around the corner. There is a mysterious letter to Santa. New friends, new loves, and family. As always, MKA delivers another feel good story. There’s mystery and fun. It makes you want to keep reading until the end. I hope that there are future stories with Ivy and Ezra.

I really enjoyed reading The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews. Ivy has recently divorced, left her job, and bought an old farmhouse in the mountains of North Carolina. I was initially intrigued by this book because it is set in my area of North Carolina and it is written by an author I always enjoy. While the actual town is fictional, the area is real and the characters represent so many people I know. I am hoping that The Santa Suit may be just a taste of more novels to come about Ivy, her friends, and her neighbors.

I love Christmas stories and this one didn't disappoint. Of course you have the standard Christmas stuff but there is also a plot twist you won't see coming. Grab yourself a mug of hot chocolate and be prepared to be caught up in the lovely story.

This was the first time I have read this author and I must admit I loved the story. I am usually reading mystery/thrillers but this one although out of my genre, was a heartwarming story for all to read.

When Ivy Perkins gets a divorce she needs a clean slate. So she ups and moves to a small town, buying a falling-down farm. But like most small towns she finds friends in everyone including the real estate agent. Since the previous owners left a lot of their stuff, she goes investigating, finding a Santa Suit....with a note in the pocket...and then the mystery begins....who does it belong to? Who is the little girl who wrote the note? and so Ivy digs deep for answers to questions.

A surprise ending, make sure you have tissues and a lovely story. Thank you #Netgalley for giving me this ARC...make sure this one is on your list - release date September 28, 2021. #fivestars

This cute novella is a great light read with a Christmas backdrop. Readers who are looking for a feel-good Hallmark movie type of vibe will enjoy this book, although it is rightfully marketed as women’s fiction rather than romance. It has a charming small town setting, complete with an annual downtown Christmas festival.

I enjoyed this sweet story of a woman starting over by buying an old farmhouse in a small town. She is kind and quickly makes an assortment of friends. It's a bit like reading a Hallmark Christmas movie.

I liked the characters and the kindness they showed each other. I wanted to buy an old farmhouse and fix it up after I finished.

There are some adult situations at the end that might not be appropriate for young readers, but nothing R-rated or embarrassing. Overall a mostly family friendly tale that will make your heart ready for the holiday season.
