This is a sweet book filled with magic, love, deception, loss, restoration, delicious fudge, a village of unique characters, and an old house that literally lights up the neighborhood. Lots of different threads to follow as the story progresses until all is set aright at Christmas time, as it should be.
Such a wonderful, feel good story of Christmas miracles. When a young divorced woman buys an old fixer upper that used to be known as a popular Christmas house in a small, quaint town, it seems like everything is going wrong, which turns out to be further from the truth. I love Mary Kay Andrews books, and am very grateful for this advanced copy through Netgalley!
A fun, sweet holiday story with a lot of heart, humor and a small mystery. Reminded me a little bit of Andrews's Weezie and Bebe mystery series, not because of the mystery but because of the wonderful, downhome, related characters. Newly divorced Ivy Perkins buys an old farmhouse and moves to a new city. She finds an old Santa Suit among the belongings left behind an old letter to Santa in the pocket of the suit. She sets out to find more about the family and makes some new friends in the process.
This story was heartwarming and simply delightful! Ivy Perkins is divorced and moves into an old farmhouse she bought unseen online. While clearing out some stuff she comes across a lett written to Santa by a little girl. The letter touched her and she decides to look into it. She quickly makes new friends and makes progress in finding the little girl. I love this author and all her books and this one did not disappoint!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a cute book this was! I loved every ounce of this book! It was so heart-felt and perfect for the Holiday season, despite not reading it then.
We begin the book with Ivy discovering her new farmhouse along with her dog, Punkin, as she bought it after her divorce without seeing it. Can you imagine? An investment that large without ever even seeing it? Boy, did Ivy get more than she bargained for! A handyman that lives "next door", who doubles as her realtor, a community to support her and not just a house, but a home.
This was such a feel good story. I loved the nostalgia and the community camaraderie in this book. The discovery of all of the nostalgic items was so sweet. Mary Kay Andrews simply has done it again! She keeps throwing me curveballs.
I received a free ARC through Netgalley.
I wasn't sure I was in the mood to read a holiday story at the start of summer, but this was a lovely story about Ivy who is getting a fresh start after a messy divorce by buying a 106-year-old farmhouse that she's only seen online. Who hasn't thought about chucking everything and starting over from scratch in a new town? A delightful story about self-discovery and a little romance to get her over her ex-husband. It was sweet enough to make me tear up a time or two, but wasn't too mushy.
St. Martin's Press I could seriously give you a kiss right now!
Thank you NetGalley and SMP for giving me a chance to read this advanced ebook!
I'm going to keep this short and sweet.....
Christmas Magic is a small town?! Yes please!
The Santa Hat will have you all in your feelings!
I just loved and enjoyed this story. Its absolutely amazing and the characters are so enjoyable and likeable!
And of course Mary Kay Andrews sure knows how to write the perfect book and holds your attention throughout it all!
If I'm being honest I didn't want it to end! You will breeze through this delightful book and not want it to end!
I will post to my Goodreads and bookstagram account closer to pub date!
This was a sweet little Christmas story & had all the components of a MKA story that I love - strong female character, going through a significant change, etc. I did think at times situations were a little too obvious or wrapped up too neatly. But part of that maybe trying to fit the story into a novella format. Overall, a fun, quick read!
The Santa Suit is a sweet little novella that is fun for the holidays. I didn't really engage with any of the characters, and it was a slow read, but with some editing I think this will be perfect for the holidays.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC for an honest review.
A light, happy, and uncomplicated book. The perfect novella for the Christmas season, complete with happy ending. Andrews always does a great job of setting the scene.
Fun, easy, feel good story. I would categorize this book as a beach read even though it takes place right before Christmas. Girl gets divorced, buys a house in another state and gets involved in the small town. While I didn’t get a good picture of the main character you do get a good feel of what the house she buys is really like. I guessed how the story was going to end and who the Rose family really was. If you follow the story closely it wasn’t hard to figure it all out. Very predictable but enjoyable.

This book by Mary Kay Andrews is a beautiful Christmas story that had me captivated right from the start!! The characters are very likable and I was invested in them immediately!!!
Ivy moves to a small town in NC after her divorce. She buys an old farmhouse sight unseen. Her real estate agent, Ezra, is new to the area too and they start spending time together. Ivy starts meeting people in the town and even offers to help a struggling business.
Ivy finds a Santa suit in the house with a note in the pocket. Will she be able to find three person who wrote it??
This is a great Christmas story!!!
I received an early digital copy,
Such a great story! This would make an AMAZING Christmas movie. Not super cheesy or sappy, and not a predictable plot like most other Christmas love stories. Touching, heartwarming, and full of pepperminty Christmas cheer!
As always Andrews does not disappoint! This book was a fun, engaging read that combined romance, a little mystery and humor. Such an enjoyable read, during the holiday season, or any time of the year. But make sure you set aside an afternoon because in the Andrews’ tradition, once you start it you won’t want to put it down.
OK, Hallmark and Lifetime. This one would make a cute holiday movie.
We often associate Mary Kay Andrews with wonderful summer reads, but this is a great holiday book.
Ivy Perkins moves from Atlanta a the small North Carolina town. Newly divorced, she has purchased the old farmhouse originally belonging to the Rose family — dependent totally on photos on the internet and a home inspection. She knows she’ll have to do some work, but just how much she’s yet to discover.
Her real estate agent meets her with the keys, and Ivy realizes that nothing has been removed from the house. Her furniture is supposed to be coming in a couple of days, so she’s got to get busy cleaning out everything from clothes to kitchen items. In her cleaning, she runs across a box holding a beautiful Santa suit. A note hidden in one of the pockets draws her attention, and Ivy decides she has to know what happened to little girl who wrote it.
Even though Ivy was really not expecting to make an entrance into her new community so quickly, her quest to find Carlette leads to new friends, all of whom help her and she, in turn, helps them.
It’s a quick read that you will not want to put down.
A feel-good story to brighten your day. Holiday magic, romance and mystery to dive into with some hot chocolate (although since I read it in the hot summer it was ice tea!). This is the first Mary Kay Andrews book for me but it won't be the last.
Thank you Mary Kay Andrews and NetGalley for the chance to read this wonderful novella.
This book was just what I needed. I didn't plan to read a Christmas story during a heat wave, but it was perfect. I love all of the characters. A little Christmas magic is never a bad thing.
This was a sweet story, though it didn't have much of a plot. However, it did have charming characters and a compelling protagonist, which I can always count on in Mary Kay Andrews' writing. If you're looking for a quick, uplifting book, this one definitely fits the bill.
A quick cute story about how life works in mysterious ways. Sometimes you just have to follow what your gut tells you and take a leap of faith. Mary Kay embodied this in a sweet and quirky way.
