I enjoyed this story with all the characters within. The main characters were Vanora Deverell and Trent Melbyrne.

Vanora Deverell doesn't want to travel with her father any more while he works. Her father is a farrier. She want to stay in one place than traveling. Plus she also not happy that her father plays at the faro tables. But this time at the faro table her father lost a lot and the owner want her instead of the money that he owes. They get way but so they see that owners men.

Trent Melbyrne owns a ranch. He and a friend on in another town looking for a horse to buy. While there they decided to go to the festival that the town is having. While there he see a young boy that seems strange. This strange boy win the target game. He not happy and decided to find this young boy and talk to him.

This was a fun shorter read. It had action, adventure and suspense throughout. It had a few giggles within.
