I received a preview of How Sweet It Is by Dylan Newton through NetGalley and Forever Publishing in exchange for my first impression.

In the first four chapters, we meet Kate Sweet, an event planner who specializes in the "Wow" factor. Her childhood bestie reaches out to her to help plan a book launch of a dark, mysterious and HOT author, Drake Matthews. Their first meeting turns into a catastrophe and Drake fires the entire marketing team as well as cancels his book and upcoming movie... and then the preview ends! What a great tease, because now I need to know what happens!

Seeing as this is a sample I am intrigued to read the rest of the book. Kate is a wedding planner turned event planner who is helping throw a book launch for mystery writer Drake Matthews. At their first meeting it takes a hilarious turn for the worst and what I can assume Kate and her friend/coworker Imani try to salvage their opportunity with working for him.

This book is a little tropey and exaggerated, but it's still a cute and fun read. Kate Sweet is a premier event planner, specializing in weddings and happily ever afters. When her best friend convinces her to plan a book launch for her clients, she doesn't expect it to be a spook-tacular event for a horror author. Their first meeting goes horribly wrong, and I'm really interested to see how they will recover from it.

The characters seem fun and quirky, and pretty likeable, and the premise is pretty cute. The only thing is that everything that happens just seems so exaggerated it seems almost like a farce. Kate's fear of Drake's Victorian Haunted House and Vicious Doberman seem really over the top and somewhat out of character from the super put-together girlboss she was earlier, and it seemed like it happened primarily to push plot.

Other than all the tropes and over the top actions, I'm excited to see where the story will progress

Kate Sweet is an event planner who loves to create happily-ever-after moments for her clients' weddings. Her best friend Imani needs help and convinces Kate to take on bestselling horror writer Drake Matthews' book launch event. However, the second the pair meet, things begin to go wrong.

I found this book to be fascinating - I loved the way that this story has started to build out, between the glimpses from both Kate and Drake's points of view. I especially enjoyed how Kate and Drake perceived the people around them and how that affected the way they'd behave. I found myself gasping at the cliffhanger at the end of chapter 4. I can't wait to see how Kate and Drake work together.

Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for the preview.

Netgalley gave me the first 4 chapters to read of Dylan Newton's How Sweet It Is. I can tell right away what was soppose to be an easy side job for Kate Sweet, will become much more than she bargained for. I can't wait to continue reading about Kate, event planning for the famous writer Drake Matthews. Kate finds him super attractive but can she get past his ego? Or the ego we have been lead to believe he has? I can't wait to find out.
I liked the storyline this far however some of the events that take place seem abit exagerrated and even far fetched. I still liked it though.
Thank you Netgalley for my ARC of How Sweet It Is by Dylan Newton.

I received a preview through NetGalley. I loved the premise of the story, and the matching of two unlikely characters--horror novelist and event planner. The beginning felt a bit flat, because I feel like event planners are a bit over done, and it took me awhile to be drawn in but I really enjoyed Drake. I would've been more captured starting it closer to the meet-cute and then filling in some backstory given in Chapter 1 and 2 with a few lines of dialogue between heroine and the friend who set her up with the job. Once the two of them meet, the meet-cute is funny--maybe slight bit over the top. But I'm intrigued by Drake and may have read more about him and seen how this unwound. Things got more interesting in Chapter 4. #HowSweetItIsAPREVIEWChapters14 #NetGalley

I loved the first 4 chapters of this book! The characters were engaging and I love Kate and Imani’s friendship so far. The story sucked me in right away and I left me wanting more.
There were a couple typos, but nothing serious that would take away from my enjoyment of the book.
The humor light and charming, which is right up my alley. I will definitely be finishing the rest of it when it is available.

Thanks to NetGalley for this preview ARC! This is my honest review based on chapters 1-4.

I absolutely flew through those first 4 chapters! Kate Sweet is an event planner, known as the "Queen of Happily Ever Afters", but has been recruited by her best friend to organize a Book Launch Party for the "Knight of Nightmares," Drake Matthews. At their meeting to discuss the party, their meet-cute ends up in a nightmare-ish, but still hilarious, turn of events, and we are left with a huge cliffhanger!

I can't wait to get my hands on the full novel!

***I was given the Preview for this title, via Net Galley.***

Kate Sweet is not just an ordinary wedding planner, but she is well known for her "Happily ever after moments." While her Mom is begging her to start up classes again to become a Doctor, Kate is about to throw a Book Launch Party to help her best friend and the author Drake Matthews.

Drake Matthews is known as the "Knight of Nightmares." His books are known for being creepy, and horrifying. She has never thrown an event like this, but she is up for the challenge.

Will this be the event to send her career soaring? Will it get her Mom off of her back? Will she have a new love interest?

I am was hooked right away with the writing and the premise. The main character is very likable, and so is her best friend. I loved the way they interacted, even in just the small amount of chapters I had. I am hoping when I pick this book up, that it continues to be this great, and I'm hoping for a "Opposites attract." type of love story?

My rating is for chapters 1-4.

This book follows an event planner, Kate, who typically produces picture-perfect weddings. She is called by her friend to plan a book release event for Drake Matthews, aka the Knight of Nightmares.

These four chapters had me hooked! I liked the writing style, and Kate’s character is extremely likable. They also left us on a cliffhanger, so now I’m dying to know what happens next!

A good preview. The description for How Sweet It Is had me intrigued. Kate Sweet is an event planner who works to create memorable "aww" moments for her clients. While, Drake has been dubbed the King of Nightmares for his horror novels and plans to release his tenth book. When they meet, their meet-cute moment is more of a nightmare which leaves me interested to see how the story will continue. This book seems like a fun read full of laughs and romance.

REVIEW FOR THE PREVIEW OF HOW SWEET IT IS BY DYLAN NEWTON

I devoured the first four preview chapters of this book.
The plot takes us on a journey with Kate Sweet's, a successful event planner and Drake Matthews', a horror writer meet cute - and I suppose their romance.
I really enjoyed the set up of the characters, the writing and editing style was right up my alley.

I have a knack for heroines, who are event planners - don't ask why, I just enjoy the colourful side of their work. And it is a plus, that I got a similar vibe of the characters, as I did with my favourite book from last year - Beach Read. The heros share similiraties, as do the heroines. Their dialogue was smooth, witty, and I think there will be great banter between them.

If you like the tropes: sunshine - grump, opposites attract each other, workplace romance, I think you should definitely check this one out!

The first four chapters have me completely invested. This story is adorable, well written, and the characters are extremely likeable. I’m already rooting for them! I love that the book dives right into the plot and almost immediately gets right into the promise of the premise. What a great, easy, fun read so far - it definitely brings both the Rom and the Com. Cannot wait to read the rest!
