How Sweet It Is, is an adorably humorous novel about an event planner and an author. I've always loved stories about event planners so I was excited to meet Kate who even has the same name as me. One of the first things I noticed was Kate's best friend Imani; I love that their friendship will play an integral part in the novel and will be another relationship to root for. I love the awkwardness Kate and Drake got themselves into because it was humorous and endearing but it didn't give me secondhand embarrassment, which I appreciated. I wasn't ready for this book to end and after that cliff-hanger, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to wait until July to read the rest of the story.
If you're looking for a humorous, easy-to-read romance with an endearingly awkward romance between people who get off on the wrong foot; this is for you.
I haven’t read anything by this Author but Wow! This storyline leaves the reader wanting to keep exploring what happens next, I would love to read the whole book, not just 4 chapters!
There is serious undercurrent between Kate, Blake & the main characters-mystery, sexual tension & the need to know more! Please write more!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Great start to a story that promises to be funny and romantic and fast-paced. I enjoyed the premise of the horror writer ho is more than his stereotypical image meeting his match with a wedding planner roped into planning his next book launch. Original and fun, I'm looking forward to the rest of the book.
I received a preview ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Reading this preview for me was a joy and I look forward to the release of the book . Yes it does seem as if it is going to be boy meets girl and the fun they will have on the way to maybe ending up in a relationship who knows .
From the preview cover which is fun and bright and what could be the first 4 chapters it has me hooked, Wanting to know more about what is going to happen infact I have added it to my book wish list on Amazon. It seems it is going to be a lovely summer read a page turner. A light hearted book which will help you relax and escape with some fun thrown in as well . For fans of this type of book I would highly recommend it .
3.5 stars to start!!
It seems like it's going to be a cute and fun read and hopefully I like it more as I read on. I'm intrigued about this horror author who seems like he's gonna be a total cinnamon roll, and I love love love having female friendships and I'm glad it's playing a role in this book, Imani and Katie seem really fun and I'm excited to read more!!
This seems like a fine book, but it just didn't seem like anything special to me. I think the whole wedding planner romcom is overdone, the writing was nothing outstanding, and Kate was irritating to me. Romance, especially non-queer romance, isn't really my genre, so to enjoy it I need a book that really wows me. Unfortunately, the first four chapters of this book really didn't. It seems like a novel that will get lost in the sea of literature without much of a trace.
*** I read the first 4 chapters of this book via a NetGalley preview. ***
This book promises to be a winner. Event planner and horror author, who each clearly have things to prove to the world about their chosen career paths, are brought together to work on an epic book launch event. The chemistry is wonderful. I laughed out loud twice. And the preview left off at a point that has me hungry for more! I will definitely be buying this book on its release day!
4 stars to start... Here’s hoping it goes higher once I’ve read the whole thing!
