A good start for a devotional book for a girl. As a mother of 3 girls and a Christian I am always on the look for a suitable devotional books for my girls. At first I was not impressed with this one, mostly since I am not a fan of Anna and Elsa, neither are my girls. However, the format of the book is very appealing: a short intro to engage, a thought to ponder and a passage in the Bible to read. I would though prefer to have separate books for ages 7-9 and 10-12 instead of 8-12. My oldest girls are 9 and 12 at the moment and the differences between the ages require development appropriate reading. And honestly speaking I found this devotional book not challenging enough.
Thanks Netgalley for a great devotional for young girls. Will use this as a way to get our youth to share their faith.

I am reviewing a copy of God Hears Her For Girls through our Daily Bread Publishing and Netgalley:
God Hears Her For Girls is a devotional crafted for girls between the ages of eight and twelve.
This devotional reminds young readers that just how we talk about our personality with others, our Creator has some very important things to share about your identity as well, such as we are royal, daughters of king of the universe, we are beloved
In this devotional the young reader is reminded the importance of not storing up our treasures on earth, where they can be destroyed instead we need to store them in Heaven.
The reader is reminded too of the importance of not giving up when God sets us on a path.
The book goes on to remind the reader too that just as our bodies have many parts, so does the body of Christ. The reader is reminded too that God’s love is a free gift. The importance of acting in faith rather than fear is also highlighted in this devotional.
The 90 devotionals in this book will help the girl in your life grow in her relationship with God while tackling everyday challenges like confidence, bravery, and grace. Watch as she blooms while she hears from God and learns He longs to hear from her too!
I give God Hears Her For Girls five out of five stars!
Happy Reading!
What a perfect gift for girls! This is just like the adult devotionals, only made for younger girls. I love that the devotionals are geared toward the younger generation.
The set up makes it easy to follow. Every devotion begins with a bible verse, goes into a story where girls can connect, poses a question, has a short prayer, then ends with further reading suggestions.
Great gift to give anytime!
I read God Hears Her for Girls with my nine year old daughter and we both were impressed with this devotional. The passages are short enough to read one each night. The vocabulary and covered subjects were age appropriate. My daughter was able to grow her faith through reading this book.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion.
God Hears Her for Girls is a 90 day devotional by Our Daily Bread geared toward 8-12 year old girls. Each devotion had a Bible Verse at the beginning of the devotion, a question to make you think about what you just read, a prayer, and a Bible reference that corresponds with the devotion. I loved that the devotions were short, age appropriate, and assists the reader in their relationship with Jesus. This devotional would be great for families to read together with the daughters/granddaughters in their lives. This devotional would be great for churches to hand out to the 8-12 year old girls in their congregations. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book! I highly recommend this book and will be telling those in my Faceboook group, Kids Ministry with Ms. Leslie all about it! (This review is also on GoodReads.)
God hears her for Girls is a devotional for girls between the ages 8-12. It’s a simple, straight forward devo with verses and or biblical story. Ending it one with a simple closing prayer.
Each day will ask a relevant question to the discussion which could easily be journaled. I would not buy this for anyone older than twelve because it might not hold their attention. The appendix gives a fair description of how to have a relationship with God.
Thanks Our Daily Bread Publishing via Netgalley.
This is the book I needed going into middle school.
God Hears Her for Girls is the perfect combination of reconciliatory and sympathetic lament for pre-teens everywhere. This time in your life is hard enough-- you're going through so many changes and are tested in so many ways. The authors provide 90 (!!!) devotionals to help you get through any of these challenges. Even as someone who is well out of tween-dom, it was surprisingly reassuring going through page by page to see all of the topics the reading covers.... like you're not alone in your fears and struggles.
God Hears Her for Girls is a great extension of the original God Hears Her, for an incredibly vulnerable group who can use all the help they can get. I'd put this up there with some of those American Girl Doll stories (you know the ones-- financial literacy, how to make friends, and so on and so forth) for girls who just need a little reassurance every now and then. And hey, who doesn't?
