Wanted to like this book. It sounded cute and romcom-y, and the gorgeous cover sold it well. However, the execution didn't deliver. Sarah is engaged - I knew this going in. But Sarah is still engaged, her fiancé none the wiser, and she sleeps with Michael on the fair night... Nope. Couldn't get past that. It took Sarah from a sympathetic character dealing with a monster-in-law and a mamma's boy to a character who buries her head in the sand, consequences be damned. I knew she had to end with Michael - it's a romance, after all - but I genuinely thought anything with Michael would happen once she broke up with Amir. Not the case! And Michael, whose fiancée cheated on him, had no qualms or questions sleeping with a woman who was just the previous day engaged and didn't in any way tell him she broke it off? That seemed hard to swallow, too.
So, execution did it in for me, sadly
Although I liked the writing, I'm not a fan of people falling for other people when they are in another relationship.
Especially when that person isn't a bad person, I'm not talking about his mother that is another story.
He could stand up a bit more to his mother but otherwise the fiance doesn't seem like a bad person.
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook a cute women's fiction romance. Cute cover. Recommend
I know we read romance stories to escape reality but the idea of Sara falling for someone else a.k.a Micheal whilst having a fiance that wasn't awful and was supportive doesn't sit well with me.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
really like this Maggie Wild book. cute, romantic and all the feels. would read it again.
Thanks netgalley and all for being allowed to read this book.
Like watching a Hallmark movie!
Cute and adorable book. The characters and the setting were simply charming!
I enjoyed this book but not as much as I hoped to. It was a bit slow in places and much better in others. I am sure that others will really enjoy this and go looking for more novels by this author,
but I am afraid I wont. I still feel that this is worth 3.5 stars
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC
I really loved this book and regret how long it took me to get along to it - so consider this review the push you need to put this at the top of your TBR list! It was cute and light-hearted, whilst offering sincere and thought-provoking reflections on relationships, class and happiness. I can't wait to read other Hope Valley Romances, and I hope Sarah and Michael will make an appearance!
Simply You by Maggie Wild is the 1st book in the Hope Valley series, and my first book by this author. Once I started this book I could not stop. It was a quick read that kept me rooting for Sarah, and the man I wanted her to chose. I look forward to the next book in the series, and I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a sweet romance will some humor, you will not be disappointed.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This had a lot of potential for me, but something didn't sit right with me for some reason? I think it was because of Sarah's fiance. I felt bad for him.
Simply you was such a cute read.
Sarah is a run away bride from London. But she is more so running away from her future mother in law. He fiance insisted that his mother's overbearing tendencies would pass but Sarah just doesn't want to do it anymore.
I love that Wild focused on Sarah finding herself. Her independence, her confidence, a new look on life. Such a fun and heart-warming read. I anticipate the next book in this series.
This meet cute rom com is set in the darling English countryside. I received this novel as an advanced reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't. While Sarah's in-laws do sound horrible, her fiancé seemed like a very nice person. No matter how conflicted Sarah felt about their relationship and how fundamentally different they were, Sarah's fiance was very supportive. Sarah should have been honest with him from the start and while she didn't technically cheat, she definitely had an emotional affair. If her fiance had been a genuinely horrible person, I could have overlooked it, but because I think he was really nice I couldn't. It made Sarah's and Michael's relationship feel a little icky to me. I wish Sarah's trip had begun after the engagement was already over.
Loved this so much! It was a bit slow at times but I fell in love with the story and characters by the end!
ARC received from Netgalley for an honest review. Simply You is a cute and romantic short story. Sarah is bicycling and comes across an inn in a small town. While there, her bicycle becomes stolen. She discovers new friends and even starts to fall for Michael. Michael is a local farmer and his sister runs the inn. The bad thing though is that Sarah is engaged and has already postponed her wedding due to her future mother in law taking control of everything.
It was good to finally see Sarah take control and decide what she wanted. I like the outcome and the epilogue.
This was a DNF to me. Honestly the writing was wayyyyy too descriptive. I was just waiting for something to happen. Also I think I misread the summary, I was under the assumption that the main character had ended things with her fiancé not just taken a break so that made me a little uncomfortable to be honest.
Thank you for the opportunity to review.
This was short fun and sweet.
A cute little story about learning to choose what's important and what's not.
The thing is... it was too short and I feel that hurt the story because it lacked deep so I couldn't connect with the characters.
If this was a bit longer I think I would've enjoyed more. Still it was a good fun book.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
Sadly this book did not work out for me. It was a bit interesting around 13% in but then it kind of fell flat and i did not feel the characters chemistry.
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC for an exchange of an honest review.
It was an enjoyable read. I really liked this. It was a fun quick read.
Simply You was a quick but fun read! The story of how Sarah's life became brightened up by something and someone and the moral of choosing what's best.
This a journey of not finding a prince charming but finding true happiness whether its a person or a place, in Sarah's case its both! Love how the events turned up pretty well and how the characters blend in with each other perfectly. Hope is a cozy place and somewhere I would like to visit too.
Even if this novel is just a quick read, there's a lot of swooning and smiling when there comes a part where you're just going to smile of how cute they are and how they still don't realize the right thing to do.
Eventually events turned up pretty well as I said and a lot better than what I am expecting! Perfect novel to read and finish in one sitting only to smile and swoon at the end!
