A cozy mystery author moves with her boyfriend so he can become the headmaster at a new school at a remote location in the middle of nowhere. Not quite two years before, a young couple disappears from a pool party. She gets pulled further into the mystery as someone starts mysteriously leaving her clues. She teams up with the girl's mom as they gradually work out what happened. It becomes more and more obvious as the book delves into the story, although I was surprised by the mastermind. I also found the ending a little unbelievable, but I'll leave it at that as not to spoil the book. Happy reading everyone! She's a good author and I read this one fairly quickly.

Twisted and creepy - you’ll want to sleep with the lights on after reading this one! I couldn’t even read it before bed - but I’m a scaredy-cat!

This was amazing on audio, highly recommend !
Tallulah and Zach are young parents, who went missing after a night out partying. Tallulah led a secret life that her mom starts to piece together after that night. She won't give up until she finds what happened to her daughter. When novelist Sophie moves to town with her husband, she stumbles upon a hint of what happened that night, and it feels like fate. Sophie is in a bit of a writing rut, and focused her attention on solving this missing persons case. Especially when one of the hints is something she wrote about in the first novel she ever wrote. Sophie and Kim work together, determined to find out what happened. They know there are a few people that have an idea what happened that night, but why isn't anyone willing to help ?
I went back and forth on listening to this on audio and reading it on my kindle. The audio really helped me get a feel for how the different characters would sound, and made reading it even more enjoyable because I could hear the different tones and attitudes as I read. I loved the different POV's in this book. It is a multi timeline so we get views on what happened the night of the disappearance, what led up to that night, and modern day. It made me really think back to my teenage years and how little you really tell your parents, and how scary that can be if something were to ever happen to you. My biggest fault with this is that when Sophie comes into the picture, she seems to piece so much together so quickly, and it amazes me that the things she finds weren't discovered by the police. This kept my intrigued the entire way through, even though it did feel a tad long. I really enjoyed the ending, although I think I expected a little bit more from it after all the anticipation and build up. One part did actually bring tears to my eyes because it made me so happy and emotional for two of the characters.
This was my first Lisa Jewell and I'm super excited to read more from her going forward !
Thanks to Netgalley and Atria books for my digital arc in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. I'm always hit or miss on Lisa Jewell books, but this one knocked it out of the park for me. It reminded me of the feel of The Perfectionists by Sara Shepard which is an excellent story. It kept me intrigued the entire time I was reading it, and I didn't want to put it down.

This book was fantastic!! This story is told in three different times periods which I think is an excellent way the author devised to keep you on your toes. It does not get confusing, it's told brilliantly. This book is a page turning, get your snacks and drink, cozy up and just read book because you will not want to put it down! Tallulah leaves her baby with her mother to go out for a night out. However, she never returns. The reader is then basically on the case to solve this mystery of where she went. Unravelling clue by clue you get closer to the truth until you are brought to the nail biting conclusion. This so far is my favorite of Lisa Jewels that I have read.

I think I need to. admit that Lisa Jewell's writing is not for me. I have tried multiple of her books and they don't work for me.

Good thriller about a young woman that goes missing and her mother that won't give up. Great setting and characters and a twist at the end that was not predicted.

TW: bullying, child abandonment, gaslighting, toxic relationships, cheating, murder, teacher/student relationship

What I Liked:
• The writing style just sucks you in
• I was engrossed in the plot
What I Didn't Like:
• It always feels like I'm reading the same plot over and over with Lisa Jewell
• The ending lost me
• Some of the characters come off as annoying
Overall Thoughts: I seriously was engrossed with the plot of this book. Lisa Jewell just knows how to write a thriller that keeps you wanting to know what's going to happen. I thought the plot was written so many times though. I always feel as though I have read the same story from the author. It reminded me a lot of And Then There Was None - A missing daughter- a child.
I did drop off a star because the ending was easy to see who it was. I find it so hard to believe that as a writer that Sophie wouldn’t have known that when she saw the sign "Dig here" it wouldn’t have made her think of her own book. She wrote the book, its not like she read some book so that would explain her not remembering it.
It drove me up the wall with Zach and Tallulah's relationship. Was Zach and asshole - yes! Was Tallulah leading him on being wishy washy - yes. Just tell him you are done and be done, but she goes back and forth over and over. She is cheating on him rather than just telling the truth until the very ending. Blah.
Also the ending just seemed so far out of there. Like Charlotte kills Zach and they lock up Tallulah, then take off to a boat for a year just riding around with her hostage in the boat. I just don't get it. She had already killed someone why wouldn't her mother had just thrown her from the boat. They could have covered it all up and gotten away with it, they had no ties to the girl other than her being at a party and one "witness" who said she heard them say something, which with money could be swept away. I don't know it just seemed…….dumb.
Final Thoughts: If you read a lot of thrillers (raises hand) then you might be able to guess who did it (raises hand) and that might make the ending blah for you. Still a solid and great book.

i absolutely adored this story. i couldn't put it down & couldn't stop thinking about it for days.
this was actually my first Lisa Jewell book and i'm definitely adding every book of hers to my list. this was a slow-burn mystery but from the first page on i was obsessed with getting to the end. i can't say enough good things about this entire story. - the writing style, the creepy vibes, alternating timelines & multiple POVs. i really looked forward to Tallulah's chapters. lets just say i was definitely in a reading slump for about a week after this reading this book
5 stars all around.

This was my second Lisa Jewell book. Like the first, I did enjoy this book. The darkness was a bit intriguing, while the relationship between Tallulah and Scarlett, and Scarlett and her mother, were a little disturbing. The pain and agony that Kim faced on a daily basis was heart-wrenching. I will be on the lookout for more books in the future from Lisa Jewell.

I love books by Lisa Jewell. She did not disappoint with this one. This thriller had so many twists it kept me guessing to the end.

I love a Lisa Jewell book and The Night She Disappeared did not disappoint. I couldn't get through it fast enough to find out what happened.

Lisa Jewell once again gives her readers a great thriller which doesn't end until the very last page! However, I feel the book was very slow reading and eventually skipped to the last 5 chapters.

The Night She Disappeared by Lisa Jewell is so good!! I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery thriller! The characters presented to us are a great balance of lovable and totally crazy. The story develops quickly and seamlessly with lots of interesting twists. Told on three different timelines and points of views, there are many pieces to come together at the end! But it is done very well!

This book took me a while to pick back up after a long reading slump, but once I had the hard copy BOTM, I devoured more than 75% of the book in one sitting. Great story/mystery!

I've been looking forward to reading this one ever since I first heard about it! I really enjoy Jewell's writing, so when my book club voted this one as out winner to kick off the year, I was ecstatic - especially since our group doesn't tend to gravitate towards mysteries.
Jewell's latest book follows two timelines - though they really aren't chronologically all that far apart. They both center around Tallulah - a young mother who went missing in June 2017. In the fall of 2018, Sophie moves with her boyfriend to Upfield Commons. A mystery author, she soon learns about the two teens who went missing and feels herself pulled into investigating their disappearances. Clues are literally buried here as Sophie starts digging. Alongside that timeline, readers get a a view of the months leading up to Tallulah and Zach's disappearances. The teen couple, living with Tallulah's mother, Kim, are not exactly living as happily as it may appear from the outside. Readers also see Kim, starting from the night of the disappearance and beyond and share in her devastating loss as she also balances her own grief with caring for her young grandson.
All of this makes it quite the page turner! I really liked all of the characters. Scarlett Jacques, at the center of the fateful night, provides an interesting character who led to some interesting discussions amongst my group. The book provides an interesting view of motherhood. One thing that many of us agreed on, though, was the ending felt a bit abrupt. It would have been nice to see more from the characters at the end... Still, we all enjoyed it and I know that I am not the only one looking forward to reading more from Jewell in the future!

Thanks Netgalley for a copy .
Not my favorite Lisa Jewel novel it didn't hold my attention like her other books but I still will buy her books.

The Night She Disappeared.... you just may be one of my top favourites by the Lisa Jewell now! What an interesting read and such a different concept for this wonderful thriller. I had also read this one with Tandom Collective and made it such a great experience with the buddy read aspect!

I received an advanced digital copy of this book from the author, publisher and NetGalley.com. Thanks to all, for the opportunity to read and review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
To read Lisa Jewell is the be completely wrapped into a world where nothing is what it seems. The Night She Disappeared is an amazing whodunit that will keep you guessing until the end.
5 out of 5 stars.

I am a lover of anything Lisa Jewell writes but I could not put this one down! I loved all the surprises and the multiple of point of views kept you on your toes! Great plot and character development. Give this one a shot!
