I really liked The Siren, but just couldn't get fully into The Prince. Soren was just a little too cruel for my taste.
What can I even say? These books—this world of debauchery—consumes me when I’m inside it. That’s part of Tiffany’s power, I guess. She’s created these deeply complex, broken and wonderful characters that I simply can’t get enough of. I will admit that I’d lost my excitement over this series—for a minute—but as soon as I cracked open the first page of this, it sucked me right back in and reminded me exactly why I love what she does. Because Tiff’s books aren’t just about the kink. They’re about so much more.
And I think it’s the more I love so much.
Not gonna lie, I was a bit put-off by so much Kingsley in the beginning, because knowing what I knew about The Angel, I expected The Prince to focus more on Nora and Wes. Which really means my greedy self just wanted more Wes. But now that I’m finished, I’m glad I got to see so much of Kingsley, to get to know him better. And of course, more Søren. Young Søren, even. I fell for the Priest in book two, and my love for him just grew throughout this book. Because while he may play hard, he loves even harder. It's easy to see why everyone he meets is totally enamored by him. It's easy to see why those who love him do so fiercely and protectively. I have to say that of all the characters I've ever read about, he's the one I would choose to meet if given one of those "If you could have lunch with any character from a book" kind of scenarios. It would scare the hell out of me, but I still think it'd probably be the best lunch I've ever had.
So yeah, once again, Tiffany blew me away (and I swear these references aren't intentional). She's got a gift I hope she continues to share with all of us. And I’d also like to say that I’m really glad I waited to read this until now, because if I’d been met with that ending a year ago, I would have thrown things. Lots of things.
