A quick, fun read with plenty of twists to keep it interesting with the mischievous Cookie and the digging. Good start to a new series.

This book is okay. I thought it was slow and it seemed to go on forever without actually going anywhere. The ending was a surprise.#DiggingUpTrouble #NetGalley

Lexi is running the family bookstore while her parents spend the year traveling. Having returned to Confection, Lexi lives in her grandmothers old house with her dog, Cookie.

With the annual Garden tours coming up, the local gardeners aren’t happy with Cookie. It seems she’s been digging holes around town wherever a rose bush is located. But when Cookie leads Lexi to a big hole in her neighbor’s yard this one is bigger and contains the body of her next door neighbor. Now Lexi is in the hot seat as a suspect and she must clear her name unless she wants to go to prison for a murder she didn’t commit.

The first book in a new series set in Oregon, I found the setting, characters, and whodunit quite enjoyable. There’s so much excitement when a new series in launched and holds great promise, and this book provides just that. Looking forward to the next entry in this series.
