#Savage Wolves & Dangerous Deals by # Danielle Annett is a contemporary romance novel. And it's a fun book. It also includes a shape shifting male..... ❣️ Great for the holiday weekend.
Thank you for the advance copy,

Such an interesting concept that this book was originally published as a contemporary book that turned into a PNR. I love shifters/wolves so much so I was eager to jump into this book. I thought the book was interesting overall and had a fast paced plot. There wasn't much substance there, but it was an easy read.
I really enjoyed this and I’m going to have to go read the first book in the series now, although this can be read as a standalone , but I still think I would have enjoyed it more having read the first as there are characters it’s clear are from the first. I loved the characters and the addition of a baby , although I’d have liked more about the pregnancy covered, overall, a fun and interesting read, definitely be continuing with the series
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
This is one of the better wolf shifter romance stories that I have read. I loved how the characters quickly felt like family. That is one of my favorite things about this book. I loved how personable the characters feel, even the supporting cast. I loved the hint of danger and darkness. I especially enjoyed the ending. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
I requested a copy of this book and am voluntarily writing a review.
This series has certainly improved in my opinion, the first left me feeling a little deflated and disappointed with the author. This instalment had the original characters and then some new ones. The story was a little more mature and was about their developing relationship in an unexpected situation. To be honest this was light on the supernatural elements, except from the wolf tendencies but a definite YA high school romance that was fun to read and I raced through it. I look forward to the 3rd in the series when it comes.
This one would be 3.5 stars for me. I had issues with how Jordy treated Jo and his overall attitude. Yes, he softened up some when he found out about his son but by this point I had my impression of him. Mainly it was the intimate relationship with Jo. I did like the secondary characters a lot. The mother/boyfriend story line seemed like it was going somewhere and then fizzled. A bit convenient for Jo to move out timing. This was my first in this series but I would pick up more just to see the other stories.

The gist of my review:
A user on GoodReads described this book as a ‘palette cleanser’ to tackle after an in depth read and I couldn’t agree more. It was a fun and easy read that I found really refreshing.
Jo and Jordy the two main characters have a very intense and passionate love life that left me pinning for their happily ever after.
The author did a really fantastic job of incorporating paranormal elements in the book that didn’t subtract or interfere with the plot, but made it all the more engaging.
I don’t really have anything negative to say about the book
Characters: 5/5
There are a few distinct characters in this book but I’m only going to talk about the two MC’s.
Jo (Joaninha):
Jo is a really great character. Being a teen mother while attending your last year of high school is difficult on all fronts. I think the author really captured this for readers and it made you sympathise and really root for Jo as a character. She was a fantastic mother to her child and did everything in her power to put herself in the position that she could provide for her baby. She displays some very real and challenging emotions that is experienced by any woman that’s ever had a child and it made me respect her as a character all the more. I think anyone would really like her.
Jordy:
Jordy is our male MC and love interest. He’s one of the school’s tall, dark and handsome bad boys and he comes across as a real prick in the first little bit of the book. His opinions about women and the way he spoke to other female characters was appalling, however he goes through a very lovely change after discovering that he’s the father of Jo’s son. He’s extremely protective and he becomes extremely devoted to both his relationship with Jo and also becoming a father to their son.
Plot: 2/5
Admittedly, there wasn’t really a plot to follow in this book, we more get to see the relationship bloom between the two MC’s. As negative as that sounds, I really enjoyed the progression of this book and I think readers will like the spicy romance elements and the fantasy elements.
Writing and Setting: 3/5
The POV was captured in first person and this changed repeatedly between the two main characters. Jo and Jordy’s ‘voice’ in their respective chapters were particularly distinct from one another so, as a reader, you knew exactly which perspective you were in without having to check. A lot of authors can lack in this area and their stories lack because of it.
This book is the second of a series, however it can be read as a standalone. I would recommend reading the first book because some nicknames and events would have more meaning behind them.
Enjoyable paranormal story of Joaninha, a teen girl who gets pregnant from a one night stand at a party with a stranger only to run into him a year and a half later at her new school Hellbound High. Jordy is an alpha wolf and is furious that Jo kept his son from him even though she didn't know who he was. Jo has enough trouble as a single mother without him making it worse. Can they work together and overcome their differences? Hopefully for the sake of their son.
I wanted to like this book. I am not a prude by any means, but this book, while appearing to be a YA novel is NOT a YA novel. I found it very hard to ready about literal teenagers having intense adult sex. Do I think they do? Yes. Do I want to read about it in that context? No. I think there may have been a way to write the sex scenes so they weren't so graphic because..teenagers, but this book did not do that at all. Also, while I appreciated how mature the heroine was with her baby, and the involvement of the father and "pack", I thought is was unrealistic for most teenagers. My daughter read many of my paranormal romance novels while in high school, and was very mature for her age, but I think I would have steered her clear of this book.
I liked this book. I love paranormal especially shifter books. The fact that it was shifter made the younger age romance more believable since they tend to marry/mate/have kids young.
Jordy and Jo were so cute. I loved their developing relationship. They met at a party, Jo wanting to break out of her shell and do something normal girls her age were doing, she ends up having sex with him and getting pregnant then disappears. 18 months later she sees him again at school and their relationship develops from there. I did feel like I was missing something in this book. It was just to easy and slow at times for everything to come together. I also felt there were a couple of story lines in the book where we were left hanging. All in all this was a good book and I will read more from this author.
I received an ARC copy from the author through NetGalley for an honest review of this book.
I got this book as an ARC and I’m glad I was able to.
I had just finished reading another book which had dragged and taken longer to read than i thought it would.
After opening this book as a “pallet cleanser”, I was hooked and had to finish it. There were some moments where I felt like I was missing pieces but I put that down to maybe not reading other ones prior?
The story was good, if not a little random and out of no where at times; the lingo very eye rolly at times also. But otherwise an enjoyable read.
I really liked and appreciated the author writing the translation for some words instead of leaving me to guess or Google for myself what they meant. It was great to not have to stop reading to find out meanings.
Overall I don’t have anything really negative to say. It was a pleasant read ❤️
I received this Book from Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.
It started of and I felt already uncomfortable. The protagonist is mentioned to be 16 (“just recently turned 16”) and then there is a really explicit smut scene. For someone older than 15-18 that feels quite strange to read about. Further on it continues with this rather explicit way of writing, which wouldn’t be bad, if the characters were at least 18.
Besides that, the characters feel a little flat, we know about the trauma that has been experienced, however the relationship between them does not seem to adapt into that. Also for him to immediately accept being a father and starting to be responsible does not really match with his former self so that is a quite massive jump.
All in all you can read it, it reminds me a little of a story from a certain app, and you have to be able to not think about the protagonists age, when you read the rather detailed parts.
3/5 stars.
A entire community that seems to accept sexual harassment and abuse as good. There is nothing romantic about any of the men. More than a bullying romance.
oh my good where do I even start. This was such a fun read and to be fair a lot better than I expected.
This book had me the moment HE SMELLED HER NECK IN POSSESSIVENESS IN CHAPTER ONE. I knew it was going to lowkey read like a fanfic from that moment on and honestly I love it.
I was expecting this book to be quite trashy (not necessarily a bad thing, I've enjoyed my good share of trashy books) but I was quite surprised. The concept of shifters isn't new, but the way Danielle chose to develop it with Man and Wolf being two entities within each other that don't necessarily agree or react the same way to everything, or how you have to calm your wolf down or they get exited... I think she explored it in a really original way and I really enjoyed it.
I might say that the characters are a little bit basic and I know there is supposed to be tragic stories in both their past but I still felt they were a bit two-dimensional. However, the writing of the POVs is in my opinion so spot on. I could totally tell which character's POVs was happening at the time even without checking the chapter's name just by the writing style. I love how both of them had their own personality that totally came through through their POV.
It was also super fun to read about a teenage mom and lovely to have more diverse characters. Although lowkey weird to read about 17 year olds having sex being a bit older lol
Overall, I'm actually going to give this a 4 star because it might not be perfect but this book fully kept me wanting to read it and really entertained me, and that's what they're made for in the end!

This is a continuation of the Hellbound series, with a new couple- Jo and Jordy. Though this is classified as paranormal romance, I think this is more like new adult romance or contemporary. Yes, there’s some issue with Vampires that continue from the last book, but for the most part, it’s easy to forget there’s much paranormal going on. There’s teenage pregnancy, family issues, trust issues, and meeting in the middle; but the non romance really takes a backseat in this one. This was a fun second book in the series, and I look forward to reading future installments.
I was really conflicted about this book. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down, but...
The description of different powers at the beginning wasn't very good and it took me a while to work out what she is.
Also the relationships between the main characters was very frustrating and ...ah
This could be because I'm not a teenager and never did the whole drama thing, I dunno, i just found there was no evolution, the was just bam happy family, eventually.
This book started off with an interesting premise but slowly lost me as a reader. The relationship between Jo and Jordy lacked the romantic tension in many aspects throughout the novel. Even in the beginning where they first meet up to have the eventual one night stand there was not much build up to it that left me invested in their relationship. They had small banter that I wished was expanded. Another weak point of the story was Jordy as a character. He was very one dimensional and portrays this alpha sexual male with no depth whereas Jo had a lot of strength as a character. We see her as a new mother, a friend and a lover as well as woman with a supernatural power but this only showed how wide the gap was between the way these two were written.
Overall I believe the book showcased an interesting concept and was entertaining for a light read despite criticism on the characters and relationship development.
This book definitely reads more like a contemporary romance than a paranormal romance. Yes, there are a few aspects of a paranormal story like shifters, packs, bit of vampire drama etc but it really didn’t add a ton to the plot. Obviously it changed a few things from a contemporary setting but for those who want to dabble in some paranormal romance, this would be a good stepping stone. You could easily replace parts of the story with gangs etc. and the book didn’t overly focus on the paranormal bits.
The book was very well written though. I think the author did a great job focusing on the main characters and showcasing their emotions and stories with their POVs. The story was really focused on their relationship, while “introducing “ other characters and opening up an opportunity for books focused on them. I say introducing because this is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone. The first book focused on a different relationship and I’m assuming other books within the series will as well, while also giving glimpses of previous and future characters.
Some parts of the outside paranormal world were mentioned but the story didn’t go too much in depth with those aspects. Just enough was talked about to give some basic knowledge and world building. I think enough was explained that for someone without a lot of experience with paranormal books they would have been given enough information.
I think a tiny issue I had is what happened with the FMC’s mother, I was just hoping for a bit more closure. Not the main focus of the book of course but just to see what happened since I was hoping for a better/different ending. Also, not a huge deal, but I feel like the book cover didn’t really make sense with the story at all.
Overall I think this was a well written book with a cute storyline that would be a great stepping stone for those new to the paranormal romance genre.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of the book to review. This review is my own opinion.
