I loved how all of the stories intertwined by the end of the book and all of the twists and turns we took to get there. I love that Kim never gives up on Tallulah. Overall, this was a great mystery and I will definitely read more of Lisa Jewell's books in the future.

Thank you for the early access to this title. Lisa Jewell's books are always hero titles.
The Night She Disappeared has a wonderful cover and almost sells itself! I am doing well selling this as a Halloween thriller. Does not disappoint!

The Night She Disappeared is a mystery/thriller. I've read the author's last 6 books. So I was really looking forward to reading this new book.

This book takes place in the UK and is divided into 5 parts.

The story is divided into 3 timelines. One timeline starts in June 2017. The second starts in August 2018. And the last starts in September 2016. We have 3rd person POVs of Kim (a 40 year old grandmother), Tallulah (Kim's 19 year old daughter) and Sophie (a 34 year old cozy mystery writer).

I don't always love multiple POVs and timelines. But in this case I think that it worked. The back and forth between these timelines made for a very intriguing book. I enjoyed reading about Kim's struggles and I really enjoyed reading about Sophie and what she was figuring out in 2018. For me the least exciting POV was Tallulah's (although it definitely got more and more interesting).

The book is about a young couple that goes missing. And I really enjoyed learning more about what happened. I particularly loved the amateur sleuths in the book trying to figure things out.

I think that the beginning and ending were the strongest parts of the book. Parts in the middle were a bit slower. But overall this was a very fascinating and entertaining thriller.

This is the latest release from this bestselling British thriller writer. Her previous books include "The Invisible Girl", The Family Upstairs" and "Then She Was Gone". This new book is another thriller and is set in a small village in England. We meet Tallulah, who is 19 years old and lives with her 1 year old son Noah, her mom Kim and her boyfriend Zach. One evening Tallulah and Zach go out for a date, leaving Kim to babysit and never come home. Kim contacts the police and they learn they were last seen at a large home belonging to a friend of Tallulah's, but supposedly left there around 3 am. We also meet Sophie, who is a semi-successful mystery author. She has moved to the village with her husband when he takes the position of head teacher at a private boarding school. When she finds a clue about the missing teens buried beneath a 'dig here' sign in her garden, she becomes involved in the case. This is a great recommendation for fans of domestic thrillers as it is a very entertaining read.

This was my first Lisa Jewell book, recommended to me by my mum actually, and I'm so grateful to Atria Books for the copy.

We're introduced to a cast of characters in the first chapter, which opens on 16 June 2017. We meet Kim Knox, loving mother to nineteen-year-old Tallulah Murray and grandmother to Tallulah's son Noah. She's babysitting for the night while Tallulah and Noah's father Zach Allister head out on a date night, one from which they'll never return.

The book then transitions back and forth through multiple time periods over the course of a few years, during which the story is told from three points of view. One of Jewell's strong suits, I've read.

We hear things from Tallulah's perspective before she went missing, her mother Kim's after the disappearance, and from Sophie, a thirty-four-year-old mystery novelist. Sophie has just moved to the area with her teacher boyfriend Shaun, who has accepted the role of Head Teacher at an exclusive private boarding school called Maypole House, close to the Dark Place, where Tallulah was last seen.

One day while on the property she shares with Shaun, Sophie comes across a note that says, "DIG HERE".

The story from Tallulah’s perspective is fascinating since it gives the reader an entire background story on who Tallulah really was before she went missing. The parts that centre around her mother Kim are well-written and in depth, taking the reader on a journey of a broken-hearted mother in the aftermath of losing a daughter, and those parts told from the perspective of Sophie really helped to add layering and build suspense.

All in all, this is a fabulous, grabbing and plot-twisting slow burn thriller that kept me well within its grips from the opening pages. Jewell left me filled with questions as the plot continued to build with each turn of the page and constantly left me on the hook wanting more at the end of each chapter.

The writing style is fantastic, detail oriented and vivid, never an element out of place. It's a book with a lot of characters, timelines, and points of view, which can at times be overwhelming and hard to keep track of, but each detail and character seemed to have been put into play for a reason here, and it all ties in together nicely around the middle of the book.

I had high expectations for The Night She Disappeared, after the reviews I'd read online and what I'd heard from my mum, and this book met every expectation, and more. I'm excited to read more of Lisa Jewell's work now. I can't attest to how this one compares to her others, but for me, this was absolutely brilliant, well-crafted, and totally consuming.

Thrilling read! Jewell's work is starting to grow on me. Written from multiple perspectives, this book keeps you on your toes wondering how these timelines and characters tie together. No character is as they seem, each chapter exposes a new side and sends you reeling. Loved the mystery and plot.
