I'm a reader who'll follow a strong female protagonist anywhere, and Kate Reilly is one of my favorites. Smart and intuitive, Kate is an intriguing mix of aggressive go-go-go on the race track and emotional hit-the brakes in the rest of her life (especially romantically -- it was great to see her bring that same paradoxical blend of assertiveness/caution to an affair of the heart in this book). She's got serious problems even before the bodies start appearing, but the same resourceful cool that helps her cross the finish line makes her an excellent crime-solver as well. Well-plotted, well-written, and full of insider scoop, BRAKING POINTS is a winner. Go Team Kate!
