I wanted to like this but ultimately could not get into the story. I made it to page 35 before I had to stop reading. I felt that this was disjointed and I couldn't connect with anyone. The story moved too quickly and we hardly got to understand the characters.

I enjoyed this book. The way the various personalities of Elle are presented is quite interesting, with the different hair colours telling the reader which personality is in charge, while it seems like the other characters do not see this physical change. I liked the art style of the graphic novel, and I thought the characters were well-rounded and their friendships were well written. Each character had their own personality. I look forward to reading the next installment.

Love it. The idea, the story, the characters, the illustrations. Different Elles with one color each, different personalities. I connect very well and easily with Elle.
But if I have a problem, why did it end up like this? I know it's very short so it has to end with a cliffhanger. I have a great time reading. I'm looking forward to the next part.
I really recommend this.
Me encanta.

Elle(s) is such a quick read. This book not only has an intriguing plot, but also the illustrations are amazing. There is one page dedicated to each of Elle's personalities and how they take some bad news, and even if we didn't have the different hair colors to distinguish each personality, based on facial expressions and background details, we would still be able to know which personality was which.
Elle is a normal girl until she gets stressed. When she is stressed she has a variety of personalities "take over" and become in control. Each personality reflects different moods or personality traits of Elle from being moody and distant to angry and competitive to being shy and timid.
Seeing each of Elle's personalities come out was incredibly impactful because it truly mimicked what happens to some of us when we're stressed but only in visual form. To be able to see Elle go from angry to sad in a matter of minutes really resonated with me.
This story also has a mystery element to it because we're trying to figure out who the blue-headed Elle is and where Elle really came from.
I adored this book and it's such an incredibly quick read. The art was incredible, the dialogue was quick, and the friendships made me extremely happy.

I’m hooked already! I loved this mental health story and how it shows that a good support system can make a world of difference to someone dealing with mental health issues. I can’t wait to remember more of Elle’s journey..

This was incredible, I enjoyed the beautiful art work and the story, I cannot believe it ended that way though!!! I need more, when is the next one coming out?! I understand that this is a French comic that has recently been translated into English.
It's only 90 pages so definitely doable to finish this in a day, it's fast-paced and will keep you hooked. It has superhero vibes with the neon themes, the different versions of herself was interesting and I'm definitely intrigued. It's mentioned that she may have bipolar but Elle dismisses this and doesn't think she has that. I appreciated the anxiety rep though!
The friends all have their own personalities and I loved Linette, she is adorable. They're all so supportive and a great network for Elle.
I will definitely carry on with the rest of the series! I would recommend this if you like graphic novels about friendship, finding yourself, and adventure.
(cw/tw: bullying, violence, mental illness)
5 out of 5 stars overall.
Thank you to the publishers for a free copy in exchange for an honest review!

I thought this was an interesting read. I like the different colors for the different personalities. I think it’s great to have a graphic novel about this topic. The illustrations were wonderful as well!

Well that was a really interesting read. I loved the art, although many frames had characters "speaking" without a mouth being open which I thought was strange at times - looked like people were talking through their minds.
I liked the idea of the multiple personalities presenting themselves with different colors. In fact, the colors were my favorite part of the novel. The friends were cool and I am interested to see where the next installment will lead. Who is the blue Elle?
Thanks to Netgalley and Le Lombard for this ARC. I look forward to adding it to my library. I think my secondary students will really enjoy it.

I received a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
The first thing I have to say is WHY did it have to end like that?!?!? I need more now! And that’s not something I normally say about graphic novels but this one intrigued me so much that I’m actively seeking out a sequel ASAP please! Second, the art style....WOW! The art style is absolutely gorgeous it’s a beautiful animation style-esque style and I’m in love. The colors, the effects, everything was stunning. Finally, I enjoyed reading a story about a person with what I believe is Dissociative Identity disorder . I don’t know much about how the mind works or how accurate this is, but I believe that each person has a different way of experiencing their DID and I think this was a really interesting way to explore one experience. Again I don’t have experience with this so i cannot say whether it was accurate or not. I liked how the illustrations depicted the different Elles with different hair colors so we could tell them apart as she switched.
All that being said there were somethings I didn’t enjoy about the graphic novel. I didn’t like how quickly the story went. I got confused at who some of the characters were; I couldn’t figure out who Farid was at one point. Linotte’s character seemed very out of place and was just there to be clueless about everything. The story went by so fast and there were a lot of subplots going on besides exploring Elle’s;, what happened at her old school, grief, adoption, etc. it was a lot happening in such a short book.
Overall I think this was a beautifully illustrated story that explored an interesting topic but could have been fleshed out a little more as it was way too short for the amount of content/plots included.

(I posted this on my goodreads account)
WHAT?!! I didn’t know it ended on a cliffhanger, I need to know what happens next!
First, I want to talk about things that were not perfect, but could have been better. I noticed some people said that the dissociative identity disorder was not explained correctly and that it was harmful representation. Since I do not have it, it’s not my place to talk about whether is accurate or not. I do admit that what happened inside Elle’s brain was not how it happens in real life, but I believe it was a different and fun way of portraying it in a way that was creative and interesting to read for kids and teens. Maybe the next book should include a psychiatrist’s diagnosis where Elle gets some answers about how her brain works.
Anyway, moving on. I think the graphic novel was wonderful. I loved the storyline. I loved how Elle’s friends were extremely supportive of her. I loved the drawing style and all its vibrant colors. I loved to see what was happening inside Elle’s mind, and how magical it felt, even though it was not realistic.
The dialogues felt natural and the characters genuine. The relationships between them were believable, and so was everything that happened in the story. The whole plot was extremely original and gave a really calm vibe.
To conclude, I can’t wait to read the next book!

I really love both graphics and story. This book give clear explanation about bipolar disorder or personality disorder. The moral story very strong but the ending part kinda confusing for me.

I downloaded, I read it, I loved it
All in the space of one sitting.
The simplicity of the Bipolar disorder, the clear changes, the feeling like you are falling and another persona steps out.
Beautifully captured and represented. When the story is completely finished this should be in every youths bookshelf to help show representation of this illness

Beautiful graphics and colors! I love the allusion to mental health disorders and how important it is to surround yourself with people who are understanding and will stick by you. I also can’t wait to see what happens as the series continues!

I absolutely adore the colours and illustrations of this!
It is beautiful, bright and fun.
The story is interesting, and it is so great to see Multiple Personality Disorder getting visibility in literature beyond a Jekyll/Hyde narrative.
Elle is given different hair colours in the artworks to show when her different personalities are in the 'drivers seat', which is such a beautiful visual cue for the reader and in understanding whose narratives we are seeing.
The cliffhanger! Argh! Definitely need to know more!

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! IT IS FANTASTIC CAN'T WAIT UNTIL VOL: 2!! I LOVE THE ART TOO! THE STORY IS AMAZING!

Elle is a cool young teen that's just moved to a new school. She's nice and funny, and makes friends right away. However, the stress of everyday life (homework, that nasty teacher we all had, parents who don't understand you, etc.) cause her anxiety, and that triggers her dissociative identity disorder. To add to the challenges of that, her parents seem to be keeping something from her...
It is a nice little comic, the first in a series, I imagine. The characters are charming enough, although they're pretty one-dimensional. I wish they'd taken the time to show us more about them before having them fall for each other, fall out, fall in love again, etc. The parents are also barely introduced to us before the seemingly obvious plot-twist is revealed.
The use of dissociative identity disorder will probably help drive the plot throughout the series, but I do wonder how familiar the author is with the disorder. It seems to be presented in quite a simplistic or clichéd way, as simple mood swings. I'm also not too sure about the disorder being presented as an entity that "chooses" which personality to send forward, and that is at war with Elle.
The art is quite beautiful, very modern and youthful, perfect for its target audience. The colours are very striking and it is generally nice to look at. I was also impressed by the translation, which flowed effortlessly.
In short, I was charmed by the art and intrigued by the story, but I'm not quite sold on its use of DID as a plot device.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this graphic novel.
4/5 stars
First let me talk about this absolutely gorgeous art style. Every page is just so incredibly stunning and beautiful and I'm so whole heartedly in love with it. That part alone deserves a 5 star rating because it was just perfect.
The overall plot of the story is really good as well but it's also a really tricky subject matter and I think it's portrayed pretty well but there could've been a more indepth and better conversation about her diagnosis and it would've been nice to see her therapist more than the one time. However the ending definitely shows that more is going to happen and I'm really interested to see where this goes and what conversations do happen and how mental health is going to be portrayed. I think this first installment is too soon to say but this graphic novel could help others learn more about mental health in general and open up some really great conversations.

Colorful new graphic novel alert! This one is translated from French and now available in English.
Elle is the new girl at school. She is bubbly, fun, and cool. She quickly settles in with a group of new friends. But Elle has a secret. She has a handful of personalities. Each of which come out at varying times, sometimes in very quick succession. This is shown in the book not just by the change in Elle's demeanor but also in the color of her hair. There's the bubbly fun Elle with the pink hair, the silent, sulking Elle with green hair, bitchy Elle with the blonde hair and a few more.
OK, I really liked this one. The art was colorful and fun to look at. And, I will admit it, I am a sucker for multiple personality stories. This one also had some likeness to the Pixar film Inside Out. Age, wise, I would think this is good for middle school through adults. This is the first in a series, so I am definitely looking forward to the next one.

This was a really fun book! I enjoyed it a lot and am almost kind of sad that it’s over. I can’t wait to read more from this series when more is translated to English.
The art in this story was absolutely beautiful, and this graphic novel could get many stars based on that alone. However, the story was interesting and unique to top it all off! Elle has a fantastic set of friends who are ready to help her find the answers, and they’re patient with the different versions of her. I thought that was a really cool aspect. Using the hair color to reflect these changes translated really well, as well.
Very excited for the next book!

This book is so emotional and manages and discusses such Depp things but is so soft and enjoyable. The ending definitely left me wanting more
