I really enjoyed the writing style in this book. The twists and turns kept my attention throughout. I will definitely be checking out other books by this author and I would recommend this book to friends and family.
The Forever Home by Sue Watson is a brilliant is a psychological suspense thriller with a perfect ending to this latest book and I was hooked within the first few pages and read it in one sitting.
I highly recommend all of Sue's Books, I found her by chance and I have never looked back her books just get better and better.
Big thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for supplying a copy of this novel in exchanges for an honest review.
This book started off very slowly and with such a lot of characters which I found very confusing . After making a note of who was who, it did turn into a good story
At first I found this a rather slow read, keen to get to something more thrilling.
It did pick up speed and was a great read, a good few twists & turns!
This book is classified as a mystery thriller, but for me, it was more a family drama. Only 20% of it can consider a mystery. I have an issue with all the characters. I wouldn't say I like even one character in this book. I hate Mark, and I don’t fancy Carly either. The plot is dragging but quite interesting at some points.
I think this is my first Sue Watson book and it won't be my last. She creates a perfect couple(Mark and Carly) who seems to have it all. But of course they don't. They have secrets. Mark is having an affair and it seems to have cross over to the "love" tone. What makes it even worse is that Carly knows who it is.
So they have been married for the past twenty five years and finding this out is quite a shock for Carly. I have to say I flew through this book. . It was fast pace and it sucks you in!
Thank you so much to #netgalley and the publishers for the ARC.
I was provided a free copy of this text by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Sue Watson does it again! An entertaining novel with twists and turns to entice her readers. Well worth a trip down the rabbit hole this summer.
Absolutely loved this book. Couldn’t put it down, has you hooked from the start, so many twists and turns to keep you wanting more. Great read, would definitely recommend
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. I am an avid fan of Sue Watson's thrillers and she has yet again failed to disappoint! A domestic thriller which had me captivated from the start. Carly and her husband have a tv show in which their perfect life and home renovations are the things viewers can only dream of. Behind the scenes though nothing is as it seems....Carly has been putting on a happy face for the fans and her children but her husband is less than perfect. Everything starts unravelling when his most current affair is revealed, things start happening in her forever home where she is now living alone...is she safe to remain living there or is someone determined to drive her out of it? Another hard to put down read, it has everything a good thriller needs, people not being as they first appear and plot twists that you don't anticipate. #netgalley #suewatson #theforeverhome #litsy #goodreads #tea_sipping_bookworm #thestorygraph #thriller #bookqueen #bookstagram
This was my first Novel by Sue Watson, and I will definitely check out her other book “The Sister-In-Law!
For the most part, I enjoyed The Forever Home. Following the breakdown of Carly’s marriage and her drive to keep her secrets and her home was very appealing. Throughout the entire novel, there are Easter eggs dropped along the way …however as a reader you can’t quite figure out what is going on an and who to believe. While it is all wrapped up in the end… I find the story could have been written with a little bit more of a physiological thriller aspect than it was.
I would give this book a 2.5 rounded up to 3. I do recommend it, however, it was not my absolute favorite thriller. I was a little slow paced for me and was hard to stay interested.
Another great psychological thriller by Sue Watson.. Carly and Mark had been married for a long time, raised two chikdren and as far as Carly knew they were going to grow old together. She knew he had affairs, but she became immune to them just to protect her children. One day, on their wedding anniversary party, she finds out Mark had an affair with someone close to her heart. She asks him to leave and that is when strange things start to happen. Great read.
Another good one from Sue Watson. Full of twists and turns galore. Thanks to NetGalley for the privilege to read and review this book.
Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for the ARC.
Review of this novel will be posted soon.
What an interesting and unpredictable novel by Sue Watson. This is a satisfying and easy read that will keep you guessing until the very last page. Carly is "surprised" at her wedding anniversary party because she finds out that her husband is having yet another affair. She was not expecting this! As the drama unfolds the reader is swept into the world of Carly and Mark whose marriage is disintegrating. Mark is having an affair with a much younger woman who has been a friend of the family for many years. Mark, a selfish narcissist, wants it all. He wants the career that Carly helped him achieve, the young women, the fame, the money and the house that Carly's mother had given them when they got married. The twists and turns in this marriage are very sad. You will never believe how it ends! This novel is a great summer read and it will certainly leave you thinking about family, love, secrets, friendship and infidelity long after it is finished. I would like to thank Sue Watson, Bookouture, and netgalley for allowing me to read this advance copy in exchange for a fair and honest review. Read this and enjoy.
I love Sue Watson books and find them so easy to read..
Gripping from the start, fast paced psychological thriller with loads of twists and turns
5 stars
This is another decent psychological thriller from Sue Watson. There’s plenty of twists and turns in the book. Although some of the twists are a little predictable, it didn’t take away from my enjoyment. Overall, it’s a 4 star read for me and I’d recommend to anyone who likes this type of book.
This story was pretty good. I enjoyed reading it. The world thought that the Anderson’s were the perfect family. Mark, his wife Carly and their two children seemed to have the perfect life until everything blows up at their 25th wedding anniversary party. This story show how deeply people on the inside can be hurt by secrets and how far someone will go to protect the ones they love. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Carly and Mark appear to be the perfect celebrity couple. They have made a career out of house renovations which are screened on TV. There first project was their forever house which was left to Carly following her mother's death.
Many guests are invited to the couple's anniversary party although Carly is extremely annoyed when yet again Mark is late home from work leaving her to play host until his arrival. However later that evening he goes AWOL from the party. Finding him and Lara arguing, Carly learns that Mark is having an affair with Erin, paras daughter and the same age as his own children. Not only that but she is pregnant.
As Erin and Mark start their life together whilst Carly battles financial worries alongside arguments for a divorce settlement and her bel9ved house that Erin is fighting to own.
This story describes secrets that are behind closed doors and an ending, which although I wasn't expecting it, did wow me and shows the strengths people may reach to in order to achieve justice.
Well worth a read.
"The Forever Home" was, for sure, one of my most anticipated reads of 2021.
And again, right from the start, Sue Watson reeled me in hook, line and sinker! 😍
Loved this atmospheric psychological thriller full of dark secrets, twisted characters and complex family relations set around a stunning home off the Cornish coast.
Synopsis:
For the outside world Mark and Carly Anderson seem to have it all. A steady marriage, 2 lovely grown up children, a successful business and a jaw dropping cliff top home.
In fact, it's their house that brought them fame and fortune many years ago when the televised renovation and redecorating project of their home aired on national television and proved an instant hit. It led to a series called "The Forever Home", with Mark being the skilled, dedicated and charismatic host of the show, turning wrecks into the most beautiful properties.
Although it's a family venture, Carly doesn't care much about being the limelight. She is the driving force behind the scenes. Most importantly, she likes to enjoy her beautiful Cornish home, but when Mark owns up to having an affair, Carly's biggest fear is that Mark will want her out of their house. As a matter of fact someone is determined to make sure Carly does not set foot in her house ever again and will go through great lengths to achieve that goal...
A huge thank you to @netgalley and @bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
For everyone that loves a fast paced psychological thriller filled with twists and turns and hasn't read any of Sue 's books yet. Please do! I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Right from the beginning I knew I was going to enjoy this book. I love watching the interior programmes on TV and this book was just like them. My friend has an Instagram account for her 1930s home renovations so this book is relatable from the beginning.
I really enjoyed how the story builds throughout the book and the twists and turns throughout that are not expected. The situations throughout get more and more intriguing and you're wondering what's going to happen next.
The writing style evokes real emotion and i got really annoyed with a few of the characters.
I hoped all the way through Ryan wasn't being deceiving and was genuinely a nice guy.
This book is really exciting. It starts with blissful unawares of the married life of a celeb or so it's seems and ends in... Well I'll let you find that out for yourself. I was excited to delve a little deeper into their lives.
I feel sorry for Carli, she doesn't appear to be able to trust anyone but her kids but she doesn't want to talk to them because she doesn't want to worry them.
I was not expecting what happened to happen. Brilliantly gripping book, I couldn't stop reading.
