WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! Sue Watson’s The Forever Home Domestic Thriller rises to the top #1 stop of recommendations for 2021(I have read/reviewed 93 books this year). You don’t want to walk to your local bookstore, you must run!!! Sue’s book is so fast-paced it is unputdownable, intense, emotional, mind blowing, gripping, filled with betrayal, secrets, and omg she went there moments!!

Sue would like to dedicate this book to Justin Ryan and Colin McAllister, whose fabulous interior designs always blow her frock up.

This is the book for you if you like all things celebrity and reality tv shows.
Sue shows and demonstrates the harsh reality of what you see in front of the camera is not who that person really is behind the scenes.

Just when I thought I would get into the dating scene again Sue swiftly reminds me being single is not so bad!!! WOW!!! Mark was the most despised character of this whole book in my eyes! The more I got to know this character the more repulsed I was by him. At times I literally was yelling at my Kindle he made me so angry!!

Sue’s creativity in The Forever Home was wickedly good! At times I wondered how in the world did she ever imagine this storyline! One of them was even a little out of the norm and could be considered tabooish if you really thought about it. However, it was so good.

There were some surprising deep, powerful, emotional, in-depth conversations between two unlikely characters that were eye opening for both.

Sue Watson you must get this in the hands of someone at NetFlix or Lifetime Channel! This must be seen on the small screen! It would be as fun to watch everything unfold on screen as it did in our minds as we read it.

This is my first book by Sue Watson and I'm now a fan!

This psychological thriller is full of surprises! Just remember that things are not always what they seem but even if you do, you won’t see the final twist coming.

As Carly tries to put the shattered pieces of her life back together in the home she’s lived in all her life- the forever home - strange things begin to occur. Someone doesn’t think it should be hers. But how far will they go to take it from her?

Taut, tense and twisty, The Forever Home had me hooked. A story of secrets, betrayal and revenge, the author centres most of the action in and around the Anderson’s idyllic Cornwall home. The house reveals itself to be the perfect metaphor for the couple’s marriage: perfect and picturesque from a distance, but get up close and you find it is full of cracks and the foundations are crumbling slowly into the sea.

Carly is the narrator of the story, not only taking us on her journey as she deals with the heartbreak and humiliation of her marriage ending, but also detailing the truth of their marriage. We learn the dark secrets they hid from the public, the lies she told to protect both their children and public image, and the ways she even deceived herself in order to be able to live that life. She is flawed but I liked her. And I think anyone who’s had to rebuild their life after a long marriage or relationship has ended will relate to her in some way. I was very intrigued about what her secret could be and loved how the author teased the reader with its existence, making you wonder if she’s the good person she appears to be.

Mark is a fabulously unlikeable character. A man only concerned with himself, his career and his public persona, who’s narcissism and entitlement is fed by his fame and has taught him to expect to get his own way. As it became apparent that his world was also changing, I admit I enjoyed watching him flail as he desperately tried to keep control of his life.

The Forever Home is a gripping and suspenseful thriller that I couldn’t put down. With perfectly timed jaw-dropping revelations, and twists and turns that kept me guessing, Watson had me on the edge of my seat. A fantastic read for anyone who loves a well-written psychological thriller.

Sue Watson is another writer whose books I will always want to read. She doesn’t disappoint with her stories, they always keep me on the edge of my seat. The Forever Home was no exception.

It was where they’d raised their children, where they’d sat cosily on the sofa watching storms raging over the sea below. It was where they’d promised to keep each other’s secrets…

Until now. Because Mark has fallen in love. With someone he definitely shouldn’t have. Someone who isn’t Carly. And suddenly their family home doesn’t feel like so much of a safe haven.

Carly thinks forever should mean forever though: it’s her home and she’ll stay there. Even the dark family secrets it contains feel like they belong to her. But someone disagrees. And, as threats start to arrive at her front door, it becomes clear, someone will stop at nothing. Because someone wants to demolish every last thing that makes Carly feel safe. Forever.

It was a pretty fast read and I loathed the character of Mark and wanted to shake some sense into Carly many times! This is a dramatic twisty story that held me captive until the final page.

This is my second book by Sue Watson and reading this book has definitely confirmed to me how much I thoroughly enjoy this authors work.
Upon starting this book I felt instantly drawn into what was going on and felt a real connection with the characters. I mentioned this in my last review for Sue’s other book I read, but I need to highlight again how fabulously this author develops her characters and can make you love them, loathe them or make you highly suspicious of them.
My emotions ran so high with my dislike for Mark that I actually wanted to give Carly a shake to make her come to her senses... that’s how involved I got with these characters.
Although this is a psychological thriller, it didn’t have me on the edge of me seat, but the storyline and the mystery around the characters totally gripped me and maintained my focus all the way through.
Another great read from a fabulous author that I’d highly recommend.

Another compelling read from Sue Watson. This author knows how to write a cracking thriller and The Forever Home is definitely her best yet.

I was completely hooked from the first page and honestly could not put the book down. The characters are so well done and I was really rooting for Carly all the way through and felt her anger and frustrations.

I did not predict the end and audibly gapsed at the final twist. Just fantastic writing and I can't wait for Sue's next one.

A fantastic, compelling read filled with suspense that I devoured it in one sitting. With captivating characters and a plot so well written that I found myself totally immersed in the story.

This book completely pulled me in like a riptide current. Sue’s writing is addictive and there is no “one more chapter” with her books, once you start you’re there till the end.

It all starts lovely enough with Carly watching the preparations for their wedding anniversary party. Twenty five years, two children and a perfect house that has turned her husband Mark into a television star.

There was a sentence in the book from Carly that perfectly summed up Mark right from the start. “We’ve finally got it just how we want it, but that’s so typical of you, as soon as everything’s perfect, you want to change it. She may have been talking about the house but that’s not all Mark is changing, as Carly discovers at the party.

Mark is your stereotypical, mid life crisis, cheating husband who is about to declare he is in love with someone else and she’s quelle surprise younger and pregnant. Happy anniversary!

Then you can just sit back, relax and enjoy the fallout of all the secrets, lies and betrayal and some truly despicable characters and actions. Will Mark get the comeuppance he so rightly deserves?

I always look forward to Sue’s books, she takes relationships and drama to a whole new level and nothing is ever quite as it seems. The Forever Home is another twisty little whodunnit with a great cast of suspects and a beautiful setting to get lost in.

Another absolutely fantastic read by a queen of psychological thrillers. Once I started this one I was completely unable and unwilling to put this one down.

I absolutely adore this author’s books and this one has been no different. It could quite possibly be my new favourite.

This is another tense novel from this author, which is jam packed full of twists. This is a novel which is completely unpredictable and one that you will struggle to put down.

This is a captivating thriller filled with lies, betrayal and secrets. The plot is original and completely unique. I have loved this one and already cannot wait for more from this author.

This is my first Sue Watson Novel I have read and I will definitely read more of her in the future.

Carly and Mark have moved into a Cliff side ocean view house in Cornwall but then Carly finds out Mark has been having an affair with a young girl and she's pregnant.

This story is twisty, full of twists and turns, suspense and its definitely unputdownable once you start.

The ending is OhMyGod amazing!

Another psychological thriller from sue watson who again keeps you on the edge of the seat wondering who to trust.
Carly is waiting for husband Mark to arrive back at their clifftop house on the Cornish coast for their 25th anniversary celebrations. The stunning house has made the family famous as they were the stars of a tv show that gave viewers front row seats in the redesigning of the house that transformed Carly’s parents house into a stunning home for their family. Mark is now a big tv star with dreams of making it big across the Atlantic.
Their “perfect” marriage portrayed on the tv show is not all it seems as secrets are revealed on the night of the party shattering Carly’s world. As sinister things start happening in the house in the weeks after the party Carly doesn’t know who to trust.
There are a few nasty characters in this book, especially Mark who is a terrible husband. As Carly unearths more about his behaviour she confides in local handyman Ryan who she slowly starts to grow attached it. Is Ryan trustworthy ?
As the tension mounts it becomes impossible to work out who to trust and as usual the author has the reader reading long into the night to find out.
The Forever Home had me gripped, there is tension, twists and an ending which gave me a huge dose of satisfaction and some hand clapping.
Solid 4 star read, get a copy if your into thrillers where you question the motives of so many characters and want twists aplenty.

If you ever thought the family on TV is the picture perfect, what would you find when the cameras are not rolling?
This book was such a thrilling roller coaster ride! The action and the pacing were non-stop! The chapters were short and allowed me to fly through this book very quickly. The premise, the characters, and mystery held my attention up until the very end. I loved how the author really made me feel things for the characters and they were not always positive feelings. In my opinion that is a sign I am reading a great book because the author has made me care about the characters and their outcomes. Without giving too much away, I really enjoyed the ending. I found the outcome of many of the characters to be realistic and satisfactory. This was my first book by author Sue Waston and it will not be my last. I would recommend this book for those who are looking for a great domestic psychological thriller. I look forward to reading her next new release in the future.

The Forever Home by Sue Watson is another win for this not to be missed author. You will want to add this one to your TBR immediately.

I’ll don’t think I’ll ever tire of reading Sue Watson’s books. With each they get that little bit darker, push my imagination to the edge of comfortable, are utterly compelling and leave me stuck for words.

The setting for The Forever Home resonated as I read it whilst sitting outside my caravan on a Cornish cliff top. Thankfully it was sunny and bright where I sat as the clouds darkened over Carly’s life.

When Carly married architect, husband Mark she inherited what she was to think of as her Forever Home from her mother. It was perfectly set, with cliff top views of the Cornish Coast and was to be the catalyst for a partnership both romantically and financially for her and Mark. As Mark set about renovating and transforming the house into a showpiece home, Carly filmed and documented the process, sharing it on-line - which inadvertently catapulted them into the spotlight and a TV career spanning 25 years showcasing Mark’s work. As a reader I could feel the buzz, and could visualise the setting but I also got the feeling of an unbalanced relationship, Mark was living the glamourises high life and Carly was definitely the foundations that propped him up.

At a time when they should be riding high as a pair it was obvious Carly and family life was coming a poor second to Mark, he was more bothered about his public profile. It was the evening of their silver wedding anniversary party, and turned out to be the night that Carly’s life shattered into a million pieces. It wasn’t the intimate family and close friend occasion Carly yearned for but more a lavish networking event with a guest list full of media and business contacts known only to Mark. A night that was to see the life they’d created disintegrate before their eyes.

Oh my goodness, the bombshell that dropped couldn’t have been any worse - I felt every second of Carly’s public humiliation. The ensuing chapters focus on Carly and her determination to salvage her life and her Forever Home. I think I lived every second of Carly’s life with her as she navigated the reality of her shattered life, dreams and trust - the emotions caught in my throat when Carly’s is subject to anonymous threats - someone wanted her out of her home at all costs!

The story, gripped and totally engaged - I played mental tennis as thoughts, ideas and scenarios about the plot bounced around, landing tantalisingly just out of reach. There are so many plausible red herrings, motives and scenarios that had me second guessing and surmising completely wrongly every time. “Is anyone who they seem” I asked myself? Everyone seems to have a back story and a hidden agenda, with individual stories so separate yet joined like the links on a bracelet. I didn’t know who Carly should trust or believe but I was firmly in her corner. I’m sure I almost died when the plot was finally unravelled in a shock ending I never once even came close to guessing, I sat mouth wide open as I held my breath - lockdown has clearly given Sue Watson too much time to hatch and plot - I can’t say anything other than the whole premise was totally plausible and just utterly brilliant!!!

Sue thank you for yet another page turning thriller that hooked me in and gripped me so tightly I felt captive, breathless and broken as I walked in Carly’s footsteps. An outstanding read that will stay with me forever, a read I have already recommended to so many friends.

Carly has a great life - married to Mark, a home-improvement reality TV show star; two grown children; and living in her cliffside childhood home which catapulted Mark's career after it was renovated. But on the night of their 25th wedding anniversary party her life begins to spiral out of control when secrets are revealed. Fearing the unknown future ahead of her, Carly finds solace in her home. Until she begins hearing strange noises at night. And then she receives a threatening note and an unexpected gift. Someone wants her out of the house. And when she realizes she may lose her house, Carly will go to great lengths to secure her forever home.

So many secrets were revealed. No one can be trusted. I love that Carly will do anything to protect her children, including keeping secrets of her own. She is not a helpless housewife - she was the backbone staying hidden in the background of his successful career. She wants what is owed to her financially but Mark is making it difficult. What he doesn't realize is that Carly will do what it takes to claim what is rightfully hers - even if someone else has to pay.

I really enjoyed this book. I look forward to reading more from this author. Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this book.

Mark chose the eve of their 25th wedding anniversary to announce he was seeing someone else—not that he had a choice. It was tell Carly or her best friend would. Not a huge surprise, he’d been a womanizing the entire length of their marriage. A sham, really, because the brand their celebrity created would not allow for other than being a perfect family. Beautiful home, two gorgeous children, and finally enough money to live comfortably.

Carly Anderson had tolerated…everything.. Behind those closed doors, there were things not to be shared with the public. This, too, would be spun. The public would get a version. Maybe not the truth, but a version.

I had a problem getting into the family drama. The divorce back and forth turning ugly. Carly inherited the one of a kind Cornish cliffside home from her mother, but his pregnant girlfriend wanted it—had wanted it all her life.

Slow, with repetition of salient plot points. Mark is beyond narcissistic but I eventually got tired of Carly as well. She’d worked just as hard. It was her house. Was she to lose it after working so hard promoting him?

I’d have been happy with much of the repetition deleted, the chapters instead making progress toward the end reveal and Carly showing a little more of the gumption that it took to get both of them to the status. I needed more empathy in at least one of the characters and didn’t feel it for Carly.

While this may not have been my cup of tea, no doubt her fans will appreciate her new release.

This book tells us the story of Carly and Mark. They have been married for 25 years, but Mark drops the bombshell at their anniversary party that he has met someone else and is leaving Carly. Carly’s devastation turns to acceptance over the following months and she finally begins to move on. However, as their divorce proceedings begin, Carly finds strange things happening in her house with pictures being moved and sand appearing on the floor amongst other things. Mark also seems to be dragging his feet over their divorce, and his partner is hellbent on claiming Carly’s house at their own. This is certainly one twisty story which gripped me from the first page and kept me hooked with all the lies and secrets which dominated the storyline.

I liked Carly’s character and whilst I thought she was emotionally a strong woman, I have to admit I don’t think I would have let Mark get away with so much as she did. I didn’t like Mark at all, and I’m not sure there’s any word I could use to describe Mark adequately without resorting to using some unpleasant language! He is obviously a womaniser, with multiple affairs over the years and I was just glad for Carly that it wasn’t her problem any more. Unfortunately though she couldn’t wash her hands of him completely with the dividing up of their finances and their beautiful home still causing problems. Their relationship post separation was still full of more drama and dilemmas than it should have been and Mark’s attitude throughout the book had me directing more choice words at the pages and as the story moved on, I just had a feeling of dread and unease that things weren’t going to get any better for poor Carly.

This author writes such good thrillers and this was definitely one which held my attentions, got me thinking and sent shivers down my spine. The other characters within the book supported the storyline perfectly and there were plenty to dislike about some of them. My opinions and suspicions on who was behind the strange things happening changed at the end of every chapter and it felt like everyone had something to hide. Filled with lies, deceit, secrets and suspicion, this will keep you entertained until the last page. The Cornish backdrop was also stunning giving great images of Carly’s forever home and the rugged coastline surrounding it. Fast paced with a totally unexpected ending, I would definitely recommend it!

Carly and Mark Anderson have made a name for themselves redesigning and renovating a beautiful Cornish cliffside home, making them, but mostly Mark, famous. Everything seems perfect on the surface, until Mark is late for their 25th wedding anniversary party and Carly is told some devastating news. As the story unfolds secrets are revealed, women are harassed, friends become enemies, and nothing and no one is what they seem.

Whelp, I’m pretty sure I have a mild case of whiplash with all of the plot twists in this book! Every time I thought I knew what was happening…BAM! Plot twist. I believe that the house was meant to be a character in and of itself, but I didn’t really find that to play out. I never felt an affinity for it, although I can vividly picture it.

This book is filled with a plethora of unlikable characters, but they definitely kept it interesting and kept the drama factor high. If you enjoy whip lash inducing plot twists that never seem to end, read this one!

You can count on Sue Watson for a really great read and her latest, The Forever Home, is no exception. While we like to idolize those we see on tv and in media, imagining how perfect their lives are but nothing is as it seems. With many twists and some surprises along the way, this is a really good read!

What a fantastic read. The reader is drawn into the book from the start. You feel like you are actually present in the plot. From early on you know that you like Carly and hate Mark. Some very dark moments in it, you wouldn’t want to be eating your dinner reading some parts. One of the best I have read this year.
