Looking to escape into a lovely book with great characters, a beautiful setting and plenty of sunshine and laughter, then this is for you.
A story about family, evaluating what is important, and remembering life is to be lived. It also spotlights the negative sides to social media and how quick people can make judgements based on nothing at all.
Fun read.
Love her books.
It was lovely to lose myself in this delightful story,
Good for the soul. A very pleasant Sunday afternoon read.
If you are looking to escape some holiday stress for a few hours and feel a warm, Greek beach calling your name then pick this one up! I have to be honest, the cover art and the location of the story pulled me in. And it did not disappoint. This story is cute and funny and heartwarming and just as bright and cheerful as the cover promises. Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture, and the author for this eARC in exchange for my honest review. Summer romance? Yes please! Gorgeous destination in Greece? Yes please! Adorable twin nieces? Yes please! This was a fun summer read, and now I'm dying to stroll around Greece too!
This is a fabulous quick beach read? Going Greek has a wronged TV presenter escaping the paparazzi and social media, Samantha runs away to a beautiful Greek island on her sister Fiona’s sheep farm.
There were parts of the book where I just wanted to yell at Sam, for being such a walk over when it came to Aaron, but I love that Sue Roberts always instills this passion in me when I read, because if I didn’t care about the characters I wouldn’t get mad. Looking for a summery, beach read, so,e escapism, then this is for you
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
I got about 20 pages into this before I realized that I did not at all like the writing style, so I decided to put it down. I will not be giving it a proper review as I did not come anywhere close to finishing this. I'm sure this could be great for somebody else, but it was not for me.
I love a book that is set anywhere sunny or romantic and I'm a sucker for a love story somewhere along the way, so I was always going to love Going Greek by Sue Roberts and she didn't disappoint. Sam was a high-flying television presenter who had great plans for the future until a misplaced one-night-stand sent all that flying off the edge of a cliff! Next stop, Rhodes, Greece, where her sister and her family live and where she tries to hide from the media and get her life back on track.
Full of sunshine and laughter and lots of great Greek food and drink, Going Greek will keep you quiet for a few hours as you disappear into someone else's life. Perfect to read on the beach or by the pool with a cocktail in hand.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review an ARC of Going Greek by Sue Roberts.
A pure ray of sunshine in a book! I loved this story, as it transported me to sunny Greece, with Sam, who is a UK celebrity who is escaping her life for a while. While she is in Greece, she has a great time, and it is full of quiet times and busy times, which she has to juggle. She meets a few men there, but who will she end up with? I really enjoyed this easy to read, uplifting feel good adventure, which helped to take my mind off my own real life for a while. I love Sue Roberts books. Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to Netgalley, Sue Roberts, and the publisher for an E-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. This one had me at Greece and it was the perfect getaway to read about during the cold MN winters! This was a great steamy romance that I think most romance readers would appreciate. I loved what Sam went through and what she learned as she tried to decide between her old London life and what she learned in Greece. This one is out now!
Loved reading this book and author. I highly recommend reading her books Hope you enjoy and happy reading
It has been a while since I was able to read one of this author's books while sitting poolside in the glorious sunshine, which I always feels enhances her writing.
So was delighted to be able to read Going Greek while in Tenerife, and I absolutely devoured it.
I loved every moment spent with Sam, and her family in Rhodes. I loved the twins, and I enjoyed her potential love interests, although one was always a clear winner for me.
This is just entertaining poolside reading that I whizzed through in a few hours, utterly hooked on the descriptions, the food, and one rather special Greek man!
Just what I needed, a sunshine pick me up!
Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
I always love a Sue Roberts book and this one doesn't disappoint. Being set on a Greek island is also another thing I love and it is great to see Sam learning to relax and settle into the laid back Greek lifestyle. Plenty of humour makes this a good lighthearted beach read
Just couldn't get into this one! Thought it would be a super easy read, but I felt like I was trying way too hard to push through the beginning.
DNF at 44%. This novel was nothing more than a woman whining that her reputation had been ruined after sleeping with a married man. There was no substance to the story whatsoever. There was nothing that made it particularly funny, or heartwarming, or sad. It just fell flat for me. Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Bookouture for an e-ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review. CW: infidelity, parent death, suicide
Really loved this book, it is total escapism and has a huge 'feel good' content. I really loved Sam's family and how she spent her time with them in Greece. It made me want to be there. Can't say enough good things about this book it's the perfect summer read when all you want is to relax and unwind with a good book.
You will enjoy this romantic comedy. While reading this book you will enjoy a vacation to Greece!. I recommend this book. Happy reading!
I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and the publisher. This is my honest and personal review.
I was drawn deep into the wonderful pages of this book. could imagine the sights and smells in Greece. empathise with Sam's life challenges, enjoyed the family feelings and romance in the air. There are decisions to be made and you feel part of it.
I always enjoy Sue Roberts books and this was a wonderful summer read.
Cute fluffy little story. Reminded me a lot of the Moose Springs series. Easy read. I found the dialogue between the characters to be a little stiff and unnatural.
I recently read another book by Sue Roberts set in Greece and I was looking for redemption with this one. Unfortunately, I found this book to be about the same as the other. While it was a light read and perfect for the summer, I just didn't find there to be as much development in the story or characters as I would have liked. And the romance was lacking for me. I'm not sure that Sue Roberts is the author for me, though I can see why people do enjoy her books!
