Give me a rom-com with a dog on the cover and the likelihood that I’ll read it is very high.
I Hate You More is about Ruby and Spencer. After being asked by a friend, Ruby agrees to help her friends dog, Wheezy, prepare for a dog show. Using her previous pageant skills, she is determined. When meeting a judge in the dog show, Spencer the veterinarian, he informs her that there is no way Wheezy can win. Ruby is more determined than ever to prove him wrong.
The banter was hilarious, sweet and a quick read. I loved this slow-burn, opposites attract, rom-com with swoon worthy characters and emotional moments.

I went into this one not k owing what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delighted I was while reading it. It definitely out the “com” in romcom, and had me laughing out loud too many times to count. I loved the strong female lead and the setting of a dog show competition. Pacing was great and the banter was top-notch. The tension between the two main characters built up perfectly.

This was a really cute and fluffy book and I liked it! I'd give it 3.5⭐️ because I am a sucker for a broody hero and a stubborn/strong heroine! Also am loving these feisty retirement home ladies as side characters and the group in this book with their erotica book club was a hoot. The relationship was good but I wanted more from all the side stories! All of the side characters had just enough detail to leave me with questions and wondering what happened but maybe the hero's twin will get a book and we'll get some of those answers!

This book was a total delight. I’m such a sucker for romcoms and when you add dogs I’m sold. I was expecting this book to be a lot lighter than it was and I definitely wasn’t expecting to relate to Ruby. The side characters were also well written and really likable. There’s even a little bit of spice that I wasn’t expecting.
Lucy Gilmore did a great job of implementing the importance of standing up for oneself, family, and personal growth. This was an adorable read, 4.5 stars!

This one was okay but not for me. It was a bit too cutesy for my taste and the author's voice just didn't resonate with me. It felt too forced and contrived.

This was a sweet and endearing romcom, providing a fun read, complete with chuckles and a few swoony sighs. I found it to be the sort of book that leaves the heart all warm after reading. I enjoyed it very much!

This was a fun enemies to lovers romance that is perfect for anyone who is looking for a quick and sweet romance. It was very unique and laugh out loud funny at times!

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I hate you more is an enemies to lovers romcom written by Lucy Gilmore, and it tells us the story of Ruby and Spencer. We have Ruby, who’s a former pageant queen, and now works as a nursing assistant. When one of her patients, Mr. Orson asks her to sign up her dog, Wheezy, in the West Coast Canine Classic. Ruby can’t say no to Mr. Orson’s last dying wish and agrees to enter the golden retriever in the contest. While trying to sign up Wheezy in the contest, she ends up having an encounter with man who thinks Wheezy does not have a chance to win. Little did she know that was Spencer, a veterinarian who happens to be one of the judges of West Coast Canine Classic. And it is thanks to her experience in beauty contests that she believes she can prove him wrong. Ruby and Spencer’s relationship was so fun to read, their banter is amazing.
I hate you more is the perfect book for those who want to read a book filled with comedy, romance and puppy-content.

This book was the absolute sweetest enemies to lovers, and had such swoon-worthy romance. The characters were so lovable, and of course, lots of dog content, which I absolutely loved!! Genuinely one of the cutest books I've read! 5/5

Meh, this one was just okay. Not a lot of excitement, too much about pageantry which I didn’t vibe with, or know anything about. And the romance was just okay. The book opens with the male interest teasing her so, that’s a downside.

This was a fairly mediocre romance to me. A former beauty queen who is a nursing assistant at a retirement home is asked by a favorite patient to enter her dog into a dog show. The dog is not at all up to shape for a show and doesn't even attempt to be trained. The pageantry plot parts didn't intrigue me and overall the plot fell flat for me.

Ruby, a former beauty Queen who now works as a nursing assistant in an old folks home, gets asked to enter one of the residents dogs into a dog show. There she meets the stern, no nonsense Spencer, and despite their opposite dispositions, sparks fly
This was such a cute rom com that had me feeling all the feels!

I Hate You More was a fun little rom-com that combines an unlikely trio of a former beauty pageant queen turned nursing home aide, a kind of uptight veterinarian judging a dog show and perhaps the best of all - an overweight golden retriever named Wheezy. While not life-changing literature - if you love hallmark movies and a little bit of steam you’ll adore the relationship that builds between Ruby & Spencer. If anything, Ruby’s determination as the female protagonist and Wheezy’s endearing antics make this a light, easy palate cleanser!

Rom coms are my weaknesses and so quick and easy to read, that's what I love about them. I Hate You More was a delightful read.
Former pageant queen, Ruby, a gorgeous nursing assistant that works in a retirement home, agrees to enter one of the residents dog, Wheezy, into The dog show. Wheezy is an untrained overweight dog with little interest in cooperating with Ruby. When Spencer, one of the judges of said dog show, faults Ruby on a technicality he makes it almost impossible for Ruby to enter her dog. But, Ruby won't take no for an answers.
Reluctantly agreeing, Spencer allows Ruby to enter Wheezy into the show on two conditions, she needs to get the dog trained and lose weight. Hiring the help of his twin brother Caleb, Ruby insists that Wheezy will be the finest boy in the show even vowing Wheezy will win. Of course, that would be a lot easier if Wheezy liked Ruby. Or was willing to listen to a single command given.
Spencer is grumpy and a stickler for the rules, but his feelings for Ruby. However, Ruby will not be treated as some pretty doll and needs to make sure that Spencer does not see her as another pretty face and he needs to make sure that Ruby prefers him over his twin brother Caleb.
The book is just cute. Wheezy is a hot mess and I loved him. Ruby is an amazing person and I really connected with her. She feels as if she has nothing more to offer than a pretty face. But her determination is what provesthwre is more to her than meets the eye. Spencer is, well if I'm being honest Dry and boring. I did not connect with him at all but I could see why Ruby was drawn to him because he didn't throw himself at her like most men do.
If you like dogs and romcoms, and some.spicy scenes this is definitely one For you

I want to thank netgakley and the publisher for the ARC.
Ruby has dragged her care patient's dog to a dog show even though there is not an iota of show in him.
There she meets insoicant and handsome Caleb and ignores all his overtures at flirting.
When is wrestling her dog, a gruff and stern voice calls out and Ruby is instantly smitten.
Here is a man who won't give her the time of day just because she is beautiful. To her detriment, She has found that to be her kryptonite.
What follows is a heavy dose of competition, dogs, kids who like to rollover like dogs and old ladies reading erotica. Don't ask. Read the book.
Spencer being so stern made everything funnier.
Meh things: There is a scene in the book right in the middle for which I had to suspend my disbelief. It was out of character for Spencer. It was a fairly big gripe for me.

i am really impressed with this book. i found myself enjoying it more than expected and would definitely recommend

I received this Arc from NetGalley.
A fun, cute, and hilariously entertaining read! The dog show aspect was super unique to this rom-com and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Although not perfect, this is a great book for anyone who loves dogs, enemies-to-lovers romance, and meddling old-ladies ;)
Some aspects felt a bit rushed, such as the romance. The transition from enemies to lovers happened so quickly that I don't even know what changed in their relationship for them to be in love (other than the sexy times they had).
The aspect of Spencer's brother, Caleb, being a gambling addict was un-needed in my opinion. The book would have worked without his whole house-arrest side story. The twin brothers living together could have been done a different way and the story would not have changed in my opinion.
Loved Wheezy and his relationship with each character! Especially his scenes with Ruby!

I tried to like this book, I really did. But it wasn’t for me.
The writing style was really hard for me to follow. All the “funny moments” weren’t funny because, well… I had no idea what they were talking about!
The characters lacked depth in my opinion.
Overall, not satisfied.

This book was SO good!! I got major Ted and Alexis from Schitts Creek vibes with Spencer which made it even cuter. Lucy’s love of Wheezy and her determination was so heartwarming and the SPICE in this one was amazing!

Thank you to NetGalley for a free arc!
Rom coms are my weaknesses and just so easy to read, that's what I love about them. I Hate You More was no exception to that rule. It was an adorable read I thoroughly enjoyed.
Former pageant queen, Ruby, a gorgeous nursing assistant that works in a retirement home, agrees to enter one of the residents dog, Wheezy, into the dog show. As simple as that may sound, it becomes anything but, when Spencer, one of the judges of said dog show, makes it nearly impossible for Ruby to enter. But Spencer doesn't know what he is up against, Ruby won't take no for an answers.
Reluctantly agreeing, Spencer allows Ruby to enter Wheezy into the show on one condition, she needs to get the dog trained. Hiring the help of his twin brother Caleb, Ruby insists that Wheezy will be the finest boy in the show. Of course, that would be a lot easier if Wheezy actually liked Ruby. Which he doesn't. And he doesn't like taking orders either.
Working in close proximity to Spencer, feelings began to bloom for the grumpy dog show judge and vet. However, Ruby needs to make sure that Spencer does not see her as another pretty face and he needs to make sure that Ruby prefers him over Caleb.
The book is just cute. Wheezy is a hot mess and I love him. Ruby is an amazing person and I really connected with her. She feels as if she has nothing more to offer than a pretty face. But she is determined to prove people wrong. Spencer is dry, but I like who he is when he is with Ruby.
If you like dogs and rom coms, this is definitely one you are going to want to add. There is a little spice too!
