DNF at 38%. This book had a boring start and it continued being uninteresting. Sure there were little things that kept me reading like Aria & her best friend Rosie and Aria reading TJ’s journal- which I actually liked a lot, but besides that everything was so slow and I couldn’t connect to the characters besides Aria (bookworms unite!) I liked the idea of this book but it didn’t quite deliver. If I do end up finishing the book I will update my review & rating
⭐️⭐️💫 Aria’s Traveling Bookshop by Rebecca Raisin is a frothy romance story about traveling nomads (think gypsy) characters with the main emphasis on Aria and her BFF Rosie. Aria is traveling with a group in vans through England and France trying to make a living in book sales and at the same time grieve the loss of her husband three years prior. During the journey, they keep running into one handsome young man/writer who spent a day at one of their stops talking to Aria. She is smitten but doesn’t want to take it any further because her deceased husband remains at the forefront of her mind. Secrets, love, babies, and romance steal the day as we wait to see if our heroine can find true love again. This is a very light read with simple characters and sweet resolutions. Thank you to NetGalley for this free ARC, but my thoughts and review are my own and without bias.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a gifted digital advanced copy.
The characters are likable. Reminds me of cozy English novels.
I really liked the characters in this book and the friendship between Aria and Rosie. I never knew about the Van Lifers and I will admit that I had to google what a CamperVan was. I could feel Aria's pain as she struggled with the diary but also the joy she felt when it was time to let go. The fact that she really loves books help draw me into this story. This story showed the strength of friendship, the power of forgiveness, and what it means to let go and move on. Very great read!
Thank you Harper 360, HQ Digital and NetGalley for the advanced read.
What a whimsical book.
This story follows Aria, a van lifer, or nomad who travels the world in a van with her business, finding second love.
There were so many jokes and lol points in this book that really livened it up, despite its somber backstory.
The romance was hot and cute.
I'd definitely recommend it to others.
I have to say first that romance is not my genre. I have little patience for the usual cliches and cuteness. What drew my attention was the bookish element…of which there was far too little. The descriptions of the food and sights experienced along the way were fun. Other than that…completely forgettable for me.
What is better than a book shop? One that travels? I was instantly pulled into the story from the cover alone. I love the fun and quirky nature of the characters. This is more than a romance novel. It gives you hope.
This is a cute cozy book that I read in one sitting. I will definitely check out more of this author's books. I enjoyed the character building as well as the descriptions. Anytime I can read a book centered around books or a book store, I'm all in. I wasn't expecting much, but this book was definitely more. Highly recommend if you like cozies!
This is the 2nd in the Travelling Shops series. Truth to tell, I did not read the first but I don't feel that it hindered my liking of this book in any way.
The characters are sweet and the main character is very loveable. Along with her friend Rosie and her tea shop van, Aria is Taki g her traveling van, The Little Bookshop of Happy Ever After to France.
The nomadic lifestyle is intriguing,The book well written and fun. Of course. romance is present!
Thanks to Harper360/ HQ Digital, NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Can any bibliophile resist a book with book shop in the title? I can't. It was definitely the title that grabbed my attention and then the cover is beautiful so I was happy to dive in.
Rebecca Raisin has created a rather interesting premise which leaves room for several possible directions the story could follow, which is exactly what you want when you start a book. I was unaware that Aria's Traveling Book Shop was the second novel in a series so for the fist part of the book something felt off, like I was missing something however it was easy enough to follow. Knowing now that there was a backstory already established I feel like Rebecca Raisin has done a decent job of creating a cozy "life" to sink in to. The characters are well developed and I definitely had my heart strings tugged more than once.
I wish this book was a little more focused on the book shop and had gone in to more detail regarding some of the experiences the characters share. I wanted a deeper connection to the bookshop for which the book is named.
Overall a story of friendship, community, healing and moving forward that is not too bad, but not particularly spectacular either. I did feel a pull at times to keep reading but I could never nail down why; Leading me to say I'm not sorry I read it but I wouldn't read it again.
Thank you to netgalley and publisher for providing an advance e-copy in exchange for my honest review. I am grateful for being able to share this book with others who might find some joy out of this story.
This was the first book I read by this author. I think she created an appealing plot, which I believe any book lover would enjoy. It was interesting to read about the nomadic lifestyle of the characters. Never having experienced it or honestly ever given it any thought. It is a unique way to live. In addition, the story having at its core the love of books and the written word was lovely.
I did not realize this book was the second in The Travelling Shops Series. While I was able to read and fully understand what was going on, I did at times sense that I was missing something. Just something alluded to, that did not require the background information, to understand the current situation.
While I enjoyed the attraction at first sight aspect of the couple that the book focuses on, I wish that there was more written about how they were meant to be. I just wanted to feel more than I did when reading. Overall, this was an enjoyable book.
I do often select books to read from the book cover & summary and I adore this book cover!
I want to thank NetGalley and Harper 360 HQ Digital for allowing me to read the advance reader copy, with no obligation to write a review. My review is written freely as a hobby, and is totally my own opinion, not influenced by receiving the ARC.
Yes please, I want to drive a camper van around Europe, sell books. and meet a hunky author. Aria was an interesting character as she worked through her grief. Jonathan was the perfect hero of the story who wrote a bestselling love story while giving her the time and space she needed. You will want to drink French wine, and eat crispy baguettes with fresh butter while reading this book. Keep a box of tissues nearby.
Aria came unmoored, literally, when her husband TJ died three years ago. She's been living in and selling books from a camper van while traveling around. It's a lifestyle that lends itself to short term relationships, not love stories but she doesn't want love again- she hasn't recovered from the loss of TJ. Now, though, Jonathan has reawakened feelings she thought she'd never experience again and, more importantly, her mother-in-law has forwarded TJ diary. Don't worry- he wasn't a slug but rather he wanted her to be happy. It's a sweet story with the right amount of ups and downs. I liked the use of the van (and the fact that they were heading to Paris!). Thanks to the publisher for the ARC. Rebecca Raisin fans know that she's a good storyteller and now new readers will as well.
I usually like books about books, but this one did not top my list of faves. It was a sweet little love story and leaves you with a smile on your face after reading, but I just wasn't obsessed with it like I am with some other love stories. Maybe this one was too tame? Thank you to NetGalley and Harper 360 and HQ Digital for a copy of this book for an honest review.
This is book two in the travelling shops series, I did not read book one but there was no need to to be able to enjoy this one. I will, however, be reading about Rosie's Tea Shop as soon as possible. At first I thought this story was going to be about books, but it turned into more of a romance and a sweet one at that. Many books are mentioned throughout the story and it was fun looking them up.
The descriptions of Paris made me envious and wishing I could visit France right now, especially the food. This book started out a little said, Aria is trying to get over the death of her husband and refuses to even think of falling in love again...then along comes Jonathan. I won't give anything away, you'll just have to read it yourself. I liked that the main characters were a little older than the usual and they were the type of characters you want to be friends with, become nomads with. They made it sound like such fun and so adventurous. I wonder and hope there may be more travelling shops in our reading future!
Aria’s Travelling Book Shop by Rebecca Raisin was definitely a good story about healing emotions and loving again. Aria owns a traveling book shop is still grieving her husband’s death. Jonathan is an author who met Aria once and fell in love decides to leave this to fate. The premise of the story is overcoming grief to love again. Aria learns with the help of her friends to open and learn about herself and accept this romance. A great summer read!
Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
Aria’s Travelling Book Shop was a cozy, feel good story, of healing and love. Living a nomadic lifestyle selling books out of a van sounds idyllic, in a way. While it is clear that Aria is dealing with a lot of baggage from the death of her husband, the presence of her found family, in Ruby and Max, is sweet. They kept the story from becoming too depressive, by the constant reflection on loss. I enjoyed when the book would describe different locations where they travelled and wished for even more if that. Aria’s relationship with Jonathan felt like it was told a lot in Aria’s head by over thinking everything. I would have enjoyed seeing them really interact more so I could feel their connection for myself. The main drama of the book is that Aria doesn’t want a new relationship after her husband died 3 years ago. However, it felt like a weak stumbling block for someone who is happy to live day to day in the road.
Over all this is a sweet story. I will go back and read Ruby and Max’s story because I can relate to Ruby’s OCD.
Thank you Netgalley for the arc. This s my honest review.
It was so wonderful to read a book that made me feel good from start to finish. I loved this and cannot recommend it highly enough.
Second in series this is about Aria who is going through some rough emotional times but with the help of her friends she discover herself and romance.
A feel good sweet romance with some humor.
Voluntary reviewed.
I was excited to read this book, but ultimately, I lost interest in it about halfway through. I was not invested in the story or characters and I found it a little bit depressing.
