Aria and her friend Rosie drive around Europe in their van, selling books. Thought this would be a fun and easy read, and looked forward to it, but found it a little slow for my taste. Found out later this is the 2nd in the series, so that may have been a factor. Would recommend, as it would be a good summer read of easy to pick up and put down.
This book follows Aria, a widow living the Van Life around Europe with her best friend. She sells books out of her romance themed traveling bookstore while mourning the loss of her own happily ever after. When she keeps crossing paths with mysterious Jonathan, she is forced to rethink her beliefs on love, grief, and life.
This book had a bit of a slow start for me, and the ending felt a bit rushed. I really wanted to explore Aria and Jonathan's relationship more. But I really liked the story and I loved the Van Life setting. As the characters roamed around Europe making new friends and experiencing new things, I felt like packing up and traveling with them. This remarkable setting was a great backdrop for the themes of loss, grief, and learning to move on. As Aria meets new people, they each impart some wisdom on her, helping her to face her grief and start envisioning a future for herself.
Overall this book was a great escape into the nomadic life of Van Lifers, while also exploring how grief can shape our lives. It also explores the ideas of soul mates, and the guilt of moving on after loss with a delicate touch. I will definitely be checking out the first book in the series next!
I love a good romance, especially second chance love. I also love books about books and bookshops but this one was different from the start. The nomadic lifestyle sounds so amazing and adventurous. Being able to explore new cities, small towns, and new countries! Meeting new people and getting to know another culture. There were so many quirky, book nerdy references that made me laugh! This book is a treasure about friendships, grief, love, and forgiveness. I read it in two days as I was anxious to read about Aria allowing herself to love again. I loved the story!
Thank you #Netgalley for a free digital review copy for my honest opinion/review!
I enjoyed this second story of Aria and Rosie and their nomadic life. Though it stands alone, I'd suggest reading Rosie's story first. An enjoyable weekend read.
I received an advance copy of, Aria's Travelling Book Shop, by Rebecca Raisin. I really liked this book and the characters. Friendship. travel, fun, and books!
Rounding up to a 5. This is a precious little romance.
Aria sells books from her travelling van; her best friend and fellow Vanlifers decide to travel a circuit of selling opportunities around France. Aria's passion is rom-com's and it is really just lovely how this romance unfolds. The beauty of France is the perfect setting for this adventure.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher (HQ Digital) and the author Rebecca Raisin for the opportunity to review Aria’s Travelling Bookshop in exchange for an honest review. Publication date is 10 Aug 2021.
Rebecca Raisin has written well over a dozen books; this was the first time I've read one of her novels. I'll be reading more of her books.
This was a fun book following the lives of nomads making their living out of their vans. Camaraderie, friendship, life and love on the road.
This was a cute enjoyable book! I love books about books! And this story was different from some others I've read before! It was great!
I loved Aria and Rosie's friendship! The story was simply amazing. And if the writing just fabulous!
