Max Prescott had a traumatic romance experience 8 years ago. And not to mention the fucked up family background, it makes him keep everyone at arm's length. He believes that he is broken and not capable of love.
Willa Banks works for Max. Willa is definitely an off limits for Max. They've been 'attracted' to each other since day one but keep denying it. But after the home invasion that happened to Willa and her roommate slash best friend, Kayla, Max realized that he was afraid of losing Willa.
Max and his older brother, Lucas managed to rescue them. Max took Willa to his place and they couldn't seem to hide their attraction anymore. And then it happened—they slept together.
But the morning after, Max pushed Willa away because he's scared that he will hurt Willa.
And what will happen to them in the office, given that they work together?
Office romance is one of my favorite stories.
Especially when it was about boss and subordinate romance.
Because I used to have crush on my (former) boss as well.
Although I wasn't as lucky as Willa. LOL
Compared to the 2 previous books, I think this one is less dramatic.
Although at first I feels like the pace is too slow, but I'm glad that it doesn't take that long for them to realize their feelings for each other and drop the 'L' bomb.
And I like how the 'secret' between Mr.23 and FreshPrincess revealed. Just like I said earlier, less dramatic.
I like the story line, because different from the last 2 books, when reading this I don't need to roll my eyes too often or want to punch both the Hero and heroine just to make them realize their chemistry for each other. Which is a good sign that this book wasn't really bore me to death 😂
Max is great. A hot, protective CEO with a baggage. Typical hero in every romance novels lol
But honestly I'm more excited and curious about Lucas than him.
Willa's character doesn't leave a strong impression to me other than being a cancer survivor. I don't know whether it's because I don't really put enough attention to her or simply because her character is just not that memorable.
And the sex.
As always the sex scenes are super hot.
Even from the very first chapter. LOL
I just DON'T LIKE the way the author ends the story.
Just like the 2 previous books, the ending is quite CLIFFY because the author FORCED the reader to join her newsletter to get the epilogue.
Seriously I don't understand authors these days, do you really need to do that???
That's the minus point for me. That's why I couldn't give this book 5 stars, I'm sorry.
Other than that, this book is pretty entertaining. Especially if you like a hot office romance.
Thank you so much to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing me this ARC in exchange for an honest review written above.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review. Oh my goodness! We finally get to Max's story and with Willa! They have been in previous Prescott books but now they have their own story. This is a standalone, however reading the other brother stories would be effective way to get to know this family and all the dysfunction. Max is a tech genius and secretly has feelings for his employee Willa. After she almost loses her life, Max acts out on those feelings. Max is sexy, strong and smart however he is broken and Willa is just the person who loves him enough to see past the gruff exterior loved this book! Can't wait for Lucians story!!
I wasn't pinning for Max and Willa's story because.. Lucian! So this was so beyond my expectation!
This is the story of Willa and Max, they work together at a tech startup which is now developing a blind date up (such a lovely idea). He is the boss, crushing on her from the beginning, as she did. But he has a big hang up from his past, which makes it very hard for him to go full in, having a relationship with Willa.
Really, what is not to like about this?! The characters are wonderful, she is smart, caring, so empathetic, trying to do as much good as possible, while still being true to herself and expressing her feelings with strength. He is protective, a bit possessive, has no arrogance for a man so rich and volunteers for a cause that is important to her, and ultimately, he is so loving.
The writing flows beautifully, there are a lot of hot moments mixed with emotional ones, everything is so well proportioned. That scene in the elevator when they have the big aha moment will forever be in my heart, such a wonderful, emotional, scene! Can't wait to read more from this very talented author!
Love Bug is the third book in the Prescott series. I really enjoyed the first two but this one just left me wanting more. It seemed to superficial to me and not as much depth as the other stories. I am looking forward to Lucian's story and hopefully more of the cousins too.
Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for an eARC of this book in return for an honest review.
Ugh... I loved this book so much! This was exactly the type of book I wanted right now. I love an office romance and I simply adore pining in a romance. So if that is something you enjoy I highly recommend this book. Both of these characters were so compelling and I could not put this book down. READ IT!!!
This is the third book in the series, but can be read as a standalone as a recap is provided by the author (although reading the previous book is helpful). Willa has been interested in Max, her boss, for a while, but he's hands-off for a variety of reasons: he's her boss and he's not showing any interest in her. As we can see very quickly, this wasn't the case at all. Max as a past and refuses to taint Willa with it. He gives in to his feelings for just one night and then pushes her away.
Willa and Max try to keep things professional, but it's not that easy anymore especially after they get to know each other in an unconventional way. They begin a relationship, but Max hasn't been totallyy forthcoming about his past. Trust and communication are not Prescott traits as you come to realize if you've read any of the other books.
Looking forward to Lucien's story and the cousins that popped up in this story.
At first, I would like to thank Netgalley and Victory Editing for allowing me to review this book. Keep in mind that my review, however, is my true opinion on this book.
Let me get one thing straight: do not date coworkers! And especially not your boss! If you do, you really have to think it through first! If you do not believe, then read this story “Love bug” and you will realise why. But love takes you places and sometimes you just do things you regret later on.
“Love bug” is about Willa who got into some unfortunate mess. She slept with her boss. Yup - maybe not the best move. At least that made it awkward between them. And she even has another man in her mind, Max. But Max has gone through a lot of things in his life as well, and he does not want to make the same mistakes as he did in the past. But you never know who you are texting online, and it might end up being someone closer than you think. And it could be the beginning of something more - or not...
When I started reading this book, I did not realise that it is the third book of a series. Meaning, I have not read the two first books in the series. I would say that you can definitely read this one as a standalone, however, I believe it would give something more to the story to have read the first two books as well. I might have to go back and read them now.
I really liked the plot! And especially the unique element of the online dating, and not knowing who you are talking to, was pretty interesting and a cool twist to the love story.
And who doesn't love a love story? I mean, come on...this is just the beauty of life and it is such a beautiful story even with all the mess.
I highly recommend this one for you, when you need a little love story in your life. And I am very excited to read the next book (and the two first books) of this series!
Unusually the adrenalin pumps from the first few lines of the book and then calms back down from there! It follows a series of novels about siblings but they don't need to be read to understand this one.
Boss and co-worker have feelings for each other that get revealed first thing and then buried away again and battled as the book moves forwards. A very predictable matching in a dating app is a little too obvious but well told and gets us to understand the characters more.
A good plot which might not give any surprises but does have you gunning for our couple to get together and make it work.
It feels like I've been waiting forever for Max and Willa's story. I was not disappointed at all. I really liked the blind dating online part.
***Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Not the greatest of books. There were some steamy sex scenes, but other than that it fell pretty flat.
Thank you netGalley, Victory Editing Co-Op and Tara Wyatt for gifting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Alright, my question for the day is a little saucy. Have you ever dated a coworker? I spent six years working as a waitress and bartender in a college town, which is just to say, YES I did. And it went as well as they warn you it will. Truth? I even dated my boss once. I know, I know, you don’t have to say it. Regardless of how my own experience with a workplace romance went, I’m still such a sucker for workplace romance tropes! Book #3 in Tara Wyatt’s The Prescotts series gives us all the office chemistry and more!
.
I got the chance to read book #2 in the series a few months ago and I loved Sabashtian and Kayla! More than that, I really like Tara Wyatt’s writing. Her books are easy to binge read in one sitting, the witty banter, sexy behind closed doors scenes and chemistry up the wazoo, all make it almost impossible to put her books down! I loved Willa and while Max was pretty hot and cold, I was still rooting for them. Like Willa, I believed in Max and just wanted him to forgive himself!
.
Sweet, sensible and down to earth Willa lights up the room. It’s hard to pull yourself away from her magnetic energy and Max has been fighting that pull for as long as he’s known her. With a past full of demons and no trust in himself to treat her how she deserves, Max refuses to show his feelings. But when Willa’s life was put in danger and Max was the one to come to her rescue, their feelings for eachother boiled over. Willa has had a thing for Max since they met but he’s never shown an ounce of interest. After a passionate and explosive night together, Willa now knows how Max feels and she’s not willing to let him push her away. When they unknowingly match on an anonymous dating app that their company is developing, their relationship reaches a level they’re not even aware of. And when they realize the truth? Game over.
Whoohoo, after Theo and Sebastian, it is now Max’s turn. Tara has already painted the picture of the highly disfunctional Prescott family in Stupid Love (Theo’s story) and Snow Job (Sebastian’s story).
We ended the story in Snow Job, where Kayla (Sebastian’s girlfriend) and her roommate Willa were just rescued by Max and Lucien.
After being held at gunpoint, Willa agrees to come with Max to his house to recover from the shock. Max, as in: Willa’s sexy-as-hell-but-off limits-boss, who also happens to be the brother-in-law of her roommate Kayla.
While secretly having a crush on Max for months now, Willa has a hard time with leaving Max’s protective body. So, when hugs turn into kisses-and some more hot activities-Willa can’t believe her luck. How can her sexy billionaire boss be attracted to her, the grey mouse of the company? But when Max basically gives her ‘the walk of shame’ after a night of steamy sex, Willa is hurt.
She is determined to stop hunkering after her boss and find herself a decent guy. Since her main project is the devolpment of a dating app, she decides to participate in the beta testing of the app.
She gets paired with a mysterious guy and they really hit it off.
Max has been beating himself up, for letting Willa go after their intense night. Having had the most terrible example of family life and not being able to have a normal relationship, Max feels he doesn’t deserve Willa.
But why does he feel guilty for really enjoying the easy banter and comradery with this mysterious woman on their new dating app?
When they accidently find out that they are matched on the dating app, Willa and Max decide to give their romance a go. But there is a lot to overcome: both between them as in their environment. Per usual: Lucien is a really scary guy, doing all kinds of shady things. I can’t wait for his story.
And we meet daddy Prescott in this story and he is definitely the epitome of assholiness. So in all: fast paced, cute, funny and with some suspense. What a ride! Hopefully Lucien is up next! Keep those Prescott’s stories coming please. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
Third book in the Prescott series, damaged by his past Max refuses to allow himself to give in to his feelings for Willa, until he almost looses her one evening. Willa has loved her boss Max from afar but never allowed herself to act on her feeling until that fateful night, (which could if I’m honest have been a bit more dramatic) they start a relationship until Max’s past intrudes and almost ruins it. Trust is imperative to build but so easy to break, communication is the key to all the Prescott men and their women
4.5 (because Stupid Love set a standard that just can't be surpassed)
The first thing that you need to know about the Prescott men is that they are, to a one, incredibly stupid. Fortunately for us, it isn't a terminal condition, and they manage to be adorable regardless. Theo (Stupid Love) was the first to get his head out of his ass; I'm still swooning, months after reading that book. Bastian (Snow Job) fell next, though he may still have a few hairs stuck. In Love Bug, their older brother Max gets his turn.
While this book can be read as a standalone, it would be better to read the other books first, especially Snow Job. Otherwise, you might find yourself wondering if you missed a chapter or prologue or something. Author Tara Wyatt does manage to get a summary in though, so while you might be burning with curiosity, you won't have a problem following Max and Willa's story.
Max is the multimillionaire owner of a tech company. Willa works for him, but she's also a close friend of the two women who've snagged Max's brothers' hearts. Willa has had a crush on him for ages, but she doesn't realize Max shares feelings until the Bad Thing that closed out Snow Job happens, and he almost loses her. Max, however, has a secret in his past that he doesn't want Willa to know about because he doesn't want her to know what a horrible person he is. There's a little bit of pushing her away before they admit mutual feelings; the secret is what drives most of the story instead.
I didn't personally feel like the secret was all that damaging. Tragic maybe, but there wasn't enough info for me to believe that any decent person would blame Max. I guess that's sort of the point though. Believing he's an awful person is Max's "stupid." Fortunately for him, Willa is a really great human being.
If you choose to read this novel, you will get to enjoy Wyatt's particular brand of Hot Hot Hot love scenes; they're graphic, but they are also filled with a lot of sensitivity and emotion. If lengthy sex scenes aren't your jam, be assured that, while detailed, they don't overpower the storytelling like that do in many other stories. They never feel gratuitous; in fact, they help us understand Max and Willa's attraction to one another even while catty people in the office find it necessary to disparage Willa.
Eldest brother Lucian is next, and I'm so incredibly excited. I'm glad that Wyatt is a prolific writer and that I probably won't have to wait much longer. Dare I hope that the cousins' stories are in the works?
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks!
5 Stars for this steamy romance!
I just loved Willa and Max! Words to describe Willa: sweet, caring, adorable, cute .... you get the drift. Words to describe Max: brooding, mean, grumpy, damaged ... but a total hunk! Willa sees the good in everyone, including Max and has the ability to make a person feel cherished and loved. And even though Max is a real grump most of the time, I could see that the things that happened in his life really affected him deeply and therefore he really did care about the people he loved. Ms Wyatt sure knows how to write a steamy scene ... they are HOT! She leaves nothing to the imagination ... in fact, a lot of it I never even thought of ... lol. This is a great book and I highly recommend it. Next up is Lucian's story, the oldest brother ... and I can't wait!
I received an early copy courtesy of Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
Max and Willa work together and both have had secret crushes on each other. One night Willa and her roommate Kayla are involved in a devastating incident. Max and his brother come to save them.
After that Max comforts Willa and one thing leads to another but Max is still holding back due to a past relationship and how that ended.
Can the two work past all the obstacles that have been thrown between them?
The next story with Lucian looks VERY interesting as well. The Prescott series is one I will need to look at more.
4.5 stars
So freaking good! All three books in this series are 5-star reads. In this book we follow Willa and Max. Max is such an adorable love interest and will break your heart with his negative talk about himself. He is a perfect damaged hero. Willa reminds me of an golden retriever as a human. She would not listen to Max’s negative talk and saw The real him and loved him for it.
