This is a retelling of The Little Mermaid! I loved the first novel in this series, and I was intrigued with what happened next. I was not disappointed. The writing is lush! It has a fairytale feel! Thus, I recommend this fans of fairytales!

really enjoy Ms. Chantal Gadoury's writing style, I enjoy the way she uses the original fairy tale or myth and creates a great story. This was a great story and I enjoyed going through this book.

i never ended up downloading this but i picked it up recently, so i figured I'd also review it here!

It was delightful to come back to Lena’s world! The best way I can describe this story is a quiet fantasy. It’s very much character driven, but man, when shit hit the fan, it hit!
This is my first time that I read a Little Mermaid retelling. I like how our lead character, Lena grew into a mature person. It is full of darkness, and the allure of magic is present at every turn of the page. I love the chemistry between Lena and Soren! Im sad its overrr though!

I started reading this and went through with it till the end but unfortunately, I was a tad confused and only halfway, did I realize that it was the second book in a series but that was a mistake on my part.
That being said this was an interesting book, despite me being confused. The main character was interesting but infuriating at some points in the novel. I didn't feel overly connected but again, that was my fault for not paying attention. Despite that, interesting concept and interesting book.

Finding herself lost amongst her people, Lena has been in hiding with Sore with the shell. Nobody believes what she is saying and finds that her only way to freedom is to destroy the shell. There is always a price to pay and destroying this shell is no different, however, will she be able to pay it?

This was a wonderful sequel to the book. The characters portrayed even more growth and the story moved along efficiently. There was never a dull moment and the plot was easy to follow. Definitely a worthwhile read!

Im always in the mood of reading more mermaid stories.
This a nice story, Lena is a great character, likeable and strong; the romance was sweet, the villains are realistic and the plot so entertaining.
This is the sequel of Between the Sea and Stars, and you really need to read the first book, the story stars just where the first ended.
Lena is in danger and she needs to escape, merrows and humans are looking for her, Soren is her ally, together they will flee they will seek help, they meet pirates! (pirates and mermaids are the best combination.)
Gadoury writes charming stories, if you like fairytales, this is a must.

Thank you to Chantal for my copy of this book. I really enjoyed the first book in this series so when I was offered book 2 as an ARC I knew I had to see how Lena's story ended.

I found it really difficult to get into this book because I read the first book 3 and a half years ago and I couldn't really remember it. The book picks up immediately after the first and it throws you right into the action. I did go back and read the last chapter of the previous book again to try to refresh myself but ideally I would have liked to have read the whole book again.

Lena was a much stronger character in this book than in the first. She has had to grow up and be less naive than she was to begin with. I was so pleased to see her stand up for herself on more than one occasion.

There was a lot of romance in this book which I was a big fan of. It wasn't one of those insta loves but more of a slow burn. I really enjoyed seeing these two characters show how they felt about each other.

There were a few times when I felt like Lena was repeating herself which is why this is a 4 star book for me. I loved the story and the addition of pirates was excellent. what's a story about the sea and mermaids without a few meddling pirates!

This is a great fantasy story that will take you on an adventure both above and below the sea.

Fantastic character growth and development throughout the book. I loved how relatable the characters are, and it's well paced throughout. A great duology for fans of The Little Mermaid.

This was such a good sequel. I loved how much Lena grew in this story as character. She was more confident and it was really nice to see that change in her. She still irked me with her decision making skills and her constant negative thoughts but then again I would probably be the same in her position. I also loved the relationship with Sorin and how it grew. Overall I’m very pleased with how this series ended.

I really like this series and I really loved this book! The author did an amazing job carrying the plot where I was never bored. The main characters were super interesting and relatable. Great read!
