Firstly, thank you to Netgalley for sending me an eARC of this book.
I really enjoyed this book, it is engaging and scientific although the genre is definitely closer to a romance drama rather than anything strictly medical. The exploration of COVID-19 through the different countries and the analysis of failure within political structures is entirely true although some of the parts are fiction for dramatic effect but work very well. Its a fast paced medical drama with very high stakes that I flew through. I liked both the main characters of Rebecca and Raj and my only complaint would be the characterisation of all female characters as extremely negative. Admittedly I was not a fan of the addition of the romance plot but did enjoy the actual romance and the development of their relationship over the book. Overall it is a excellent story about the trials of COVID in a time when it is all still extremely relevant and Vishal Sahni writing is very good and I hope he writes more books in the future.</p>

To be honest, I'm not sure if I was ready to a book so soon and close to home about covid-19.

In someways I kind of wished that I had left this a little bit longer. This is mainly because of the impact that this event has had on me and my family.

However, this was still an interesting read. Plus is would be very difficult to know when would have been a suitable time to read something like this. I think because I read a lot of dystopian novels anyway I was able to pretend this was all fictional and now way at all linked to the here and now.

Such a topical thriller and fascinating to see the pandemic from perspective of the medical professions. I liked the characters and it was a great change to bring in different cultures and relationships. I was not sure about brining the romance angle in. It wasn’t really necessary but was perhaps a sweet side piece to the story.
