I cannot wait to read the whole book! I love the excerpt and can't wait to get my hands on the real deal. Katherine St. John knows how to write a juicy story. This is definitely going to be a hit this summer!
Wowza! That is such a thrilling excerpt. I'm in love with the vibe of this book and the setting. Can't wait to read the whole thing!!
Many thanks to the publisher for providing this excerpt in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley.
I recently listened to The Lions Den by Katherine St John and immediately put The Siren on my list! I received the first few chapters of this book from Net Galley and am so excited to get to finish it when the book is released! This story contains so many of my favorite elements of a thriller: an isolated island, wealthy suspicious characters, a summer setting, and secrets. Pick this book up if you are wanting to take a trip inside the pages of an incredible beachy escape.
The excerpt sounds fantastic, I'm not usually a fan of unlikeable characters and their messed up lives, but it makes for interesting reads. And I'm excited to check out the novel when its released.
This except provided a glimpse at a juicy book with secrets, lies and careers on the brink. Part of the book is set on a Caribbean island where the film The Siren is being produced. Gorgeous setting and people behaving badly.
This book has multiple POV and excepts from interviews. Looking forward to reading the full book.
This looks like it will be a fun read- and it's remarkably unfair only to provide an excerpt! I want to know what happens! Thanks to netgalley- let's hope I get the full ARC.
I can tell that this is going to be a very intriguing story! Can’t wait to read the rest!!! The characters involved in the first few chapters appear to have many secrets, and I absolutely can’t wait to have them revealed!
What a perfect excerpt! I can't wait to read the whole book. I am hunting it down asap or will order on pubday.
I read the excerpt of The Siren (thank you NetGalley and Katherine St. John) and OH MY GOODNESSS.... I want MORE! I can tell that this is going to be every bit as scandalous and unputdownable as The Lion's Den. The excerpt set the stage between three women all seemly not where they expected to be at this stage in their careers, all clearly with secrets and all the secrets seem to relate to the one man (an actor who is clearly arrogant) who could make or break their career on the set of this movie. Add in a tropical setting and the stage is set for a great read.
I had super high hopes for St. John's The Siren for literally no other reason than the cover looks absolutely phenomenal (and to me, that's enough for hopes to skyrocket). All in all, I enjoyed the first four chapters. It was initially hard to get used to the switching perspectives, especially when the excerpt stopped right as I was getting into the swing of things, and the first couple chapters were definitely a little slower setting the scene. That being said, the characters we met were all fleshed out super well and I can just TELL that once I get my hands on the full thing the rest of the book is going to fly by... the excerpt stopped right as it was getting its claws into me, and I'll be waiting to read the rest to see if it lives up to my original hopes.
I've been loving this book so far, and I'm so thrilled that I just got approved for the full ebook! The setting is incredible, the characters are fascinating, and I can't wait to learn more about this mystery that is brewing. I'm definitely intrigued, and I hear amazing things from those who have already finished this! Full review coming soon.
Wow!! What a thrilling excerpt. I will absolutely check this book out when it releases. Written from multiple POVs, it was clear that they are all hiding deep secrets. I’m so curious about their hidden motives and how their past histories will intertwine. This seems like the type of book that will be nearly impossible to put down! Thank you to Katherine St. John, Grand Central Publishing, and Netgalley for a chapter excerpt in exchange for honest feedback.
St. John has done it again! Well, at least from the first four chapters that I've read and I definitely can't wait to bask in that beautiful Caribbean weather. Thanks for the sneak peek Grand Central!
I have not read anything by Katherine St. John, but I love what I have read so far and need to read the rest! The descriptions were so vivid; I felt as though I was there on the island in the Caribbean. I enjoyed the multiple points-of-view and how contrasting they were. Thank you NetGalley and Grand Publishing Central for the excerpt.
Ahh this is incredible!! I can’t wait to read the entire thing!
Thank you for the teaser sneak peak!
Oh Grand Central what a tease! 4 chapters and I need more. I was desperate for my kindle to keep turning the pages!!
What is not to love about a book set in the Caribbean on a movie set? I loved Lion's Den and need to finish The Siren now.. I need to know what is going to happen with these characters that I am just starting to get to know.
Thank you for the brief glimpse 🥰
I so wish this was more than just an excerpt of the first four chapters. But am thankful to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this portion of The Siren. This seems like it's going to be a great book to read by the pool. The characters are intriguing and I love that the vibrant island setting is a backdrop for what seems like it will be a darker story. Now I just have to wait the 16 days until publication so I can buy a copy and find out what happens next!
From the excerpt I have received of The Siren, this book is on my TBR shelf. Looking forward to May 4, so I can follow up to see how it ends.
Thank you to both #NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for allowing me to read an advanced excerpt from Katherine St. John’s latest beach read, The Siren, in exchange for an honest review.
Given that I only received a four-chapter excerpt of #TheSirenexcerpt, there is not much I can provide readers in the way of a review. Set on the fictional island of Saint Genesius—which is described as having a visually stunning backdrop and serves as the primary location of the movie that the characters are working on—the story revolves around three female characters (i.e., Taylor, Stella, and Felicity) and the various secrets they harbor.
The chapters alternate between the perspectives of our three leading ladies, interlaced with tabloid articles about their lives over the last decade. Though I am not entirely sure where this is going yet, I can say with complete certainty that this book would pair well with a sandy, beach vacation.
Even though this was just an excerpt, I had trouble staying interested in it. The multiple perspectives felt more distracting than intriguing, and I really struggled to connect with the writing style. Clearly, this book isn't for me. However, the summary grabbed my attention, so hopefully it will be a better fit for other readers.
