After Lily learns the man who terrorized her has escaped from prison, she is okay with hiding out but refuses police protection. Levi is sent in undercover to keep her safe. Their attraction is undeniable, but both are wary...plus Lilly is in danger and Levi is on the job. Can they keep Lily safe? Or will she fall victim to terror?

With its heat and heart and a few "WTH were you thinking" moments, Her Renegade Cowboy held my attention from the first page until the last. It's the third book in the series, but it stands alone with no problem.

Many thanks to the publisher, St. Martin's Press/Griffin, and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

Lily Donovan has lost her spark but she tries very hard to make it seem like she is ok but deep down, she is lives in fear after a traumatic event. When she learns the man that terrorized her has broken out of prison, well, the nightmares return as she fights to be strong and prepared for what might happen next. She gave me a tough and vulnerable woman that wasn’t going down without a fight. Levi has been tasked with protecting Lily without her knowing since she refused witness protection. What Levi doesn’t expect is the strong attraction he feels for Lily. I enjoyed how Levi had to work at breaking through Lily’s protective walls to even talk to her. She is a true challenge but one that Levi is willing to take. Through all of this, a threat is hanging over Lily’s head which Levi has to stop. I got caught up in the romance as Levi finds ways to show Lily that love is possible and there are men she can trust. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Small town CA with cowboy and US Marshalls for this round of the series. Lily is a school teacher had was about to testify against her old professor that tried to assault and murder her, but no one knows about it but her sister and best friend. In walks Levi the US Marshall on undercover duty on her cousin's ranch. This one is steamy from the start (lacking a bit of the chemistry) along with a lot of secrets and then suspense as her attacker gets closer. This was a a bit lacking with just flow, chemistry, I didn't enjoy the storyline like the others in the series. But I will read her future books! Overall, enjoyed the series and thinks others will enjoy this even more!

3 stars
3.5 steam

Thanks to St. Martin's Griffin and Netgally for a copy of this book.

I received this book from NetGalley for a review.

Lily Donovan doesn't trust men, she has a good reason. Levi Roberts is working on the family ranch as a cowboy. Lily get a call that the man that attacked her has escaped prison. She refuses help from the Marshalls.

Levi is actually under cover to keep an eye on Lily. Levi finds he is falling for Lily.

Both are keeping secrets from each other. Can either open up before her attacker comes to town and causing trouble?

You can read this as a stand alone book.

Her Renegade Cowboy is the third book in Lora Leigh's Moving Violations series and although there are appearances from those in the other books in the series, it can definitely be read as a standalone.

Lily Donovan lived through a traumatic event and the source of that trauma has escaped from prison and has found his way back into her life and upended any security she felt. She doesn't want to endanger anyone she cares about, so she decides to handle it on her own even after she's warned she's in danger again.

Levi Roberts is now working at Lily's cousin's ranch, but what isn't widely known is that he is a Federal Marshal who is working undercover to keep an eye on Lily. The former Ranger is skilled in ways most aren't and he knows exact what his assignment is, to find the man who has escaped from jail and put Lily in danger once again.

What Levi didn't see coming was forming a relationship with Lily. One that could end up causing him his job in the end. Is she going to be worth it in the end? Will the be able to catch the man who has caused Lily so much hurt and anguish?

I enjoy these romantic suspense books and every one of Lora Leigh's I've read I've enjoyed as well. The characters were well developed and I was intrigued by how all of this unfolded. Definitely one I'd recommend.

My best bookfriend summed it up best when she declared Lora Leigh wrote like Diana Palmer on ecstasy with "sweet silly girls making boneheaded TSTL decisions because they are hypnotized by rugged alphaholes swinging around their boners". And with Lora Leigh's newest, Her Renegade Cowboy, my friend is not wrong.

And there you have it, Lily basically can't make up her mind at all, whether it's about being with Levi or not, running from her past or confronting it, staying put or going. And every single time, she makes the absolutely wrong decisions. This wouldn't be a problem if Levi didn't make a seriously bad judgment call himself. Together, these two babies' secrecy and stupidity bring in a heapload of trouble and danger to Deer Haven, California. But at least they are seriously hot for each other:

Sure, this has Lora Leigh's trademark sexy times and alpha moves. This is pure Lora Leighville where characters named Justice, Pride and Rancor pop by for a chin lift or secret handshake; the fact that these characters are brothers is even more soapy fun. And there are classic nuggets like:

Lily was suddenly very aware of her nakedness. And his. Levi’s erection stood up and said hello from beneath the sheet like a sexy little ghost.

Sexy. Little. Ghost. Like a naked Casper? Lora Leigh, please never change.

Lily and Levi were combustible together but separately, they made truly stupid decisions seriously risked their lives. I hope next time Lora Leigh focuses more on the steamy storytelling and not so much the TSTL times.

Lily has a troubled past, she was almost killed a few years ago and is trying to heal. Levi is working on her cousins ranch, unbenowst to Lily however Levi is an undercover US MArshal there to protect Lily after her abuser escapes from prison.

This was a good story, but the constant baby narrative gets right on my nerves. Come here baby. You know it baby. Yes baby. No No No. Use the womans name please. Dont infantile women in books its gross.

Apart from that. All good.

Her Renegade Cowboy is the third book in the Moving Violations series by Lora Leigh. A very sexy story that has Lily, a survivor of violence, and Levi, the undercover US Marshall sent to protect her. He's undercover because Lily has rejected all assistance from the marshals when her attacker escapes, so he's forced to keep who he is a secret. Her Renegade Cowboy is sure to pull you in from the beginning with characters that are compelling and full of mysterious backstories. Overall, a steamy romance with a sexy cowboy and undeniable chemistry that is full of action and romance that is sure to leave you wanting more.

Secrets have a way of sneaking out and raising havoc when you last expect them.
Lily Donovan, small town elementary school teacher with secrets that are coming back to haunt her. She knows if she had told more than her trusted few what happened to her almost two years ago the entire town would know. And that possibility was to much to bear. Now she's faced with the past coming for her and it couldn't have happened at a worse time. Lily was finally ready to let her guard down and take a chance on the new sexy ranch hand in her cousin Jacob's ranch.
Levi Roberts, uses the undercover option of a ranch hand comes in handy and gives him the access he needs and an instant credibility in town. He has a plan that involves getting close to Lily. Not only because she's feisty and willing to give a good as she gets, but she's his to protect. While he's supposed to be focused on finding his target and ensuring the safety of Lily he finds himself falling for her more each day. And his usually strong walls start to crumble as the attraction ignites. And as the secrets come out, the danger that has been lurking in the shadows comes out to strike.

I have a soft spot for Cowboys... tall, rugged, men who work hard and play even harder. And who can resist the hat? Certainly not Lily. Despite the fact she has a secret and needs to stay hidden, the irascible Levi just sneaks under her brisk exterior. But when the chips are down and danger is at the highest, will he live up to the persona? Will he be able to overcome all her objections?

Her Renegade Cowboy is the third book in the Moving Violations series. When we first meet Lily, an elementary school teacher, we learn that someone who almost killed her in the past has escaped from prison and she has refused to enter into Witness Protection. She has kept this secret from all of her family and friends. The same day she learns this, she meets Levi, who is working for Lily's cousin on his ranch. This was a rough one for me to get into. The attraction seems to be instant for both of them, without ever even speaking to each other, but in all the instances after that where they could meet and interact, they only seem to argue. I had a hard time feeling the connection and chemistry. When we might have seen it early on - on a night when he fixes her brakes and then comes in for pizza with her after - it just skips from him entering her house to the next day!

They fall into bed together and we also learn that Levi isn't what he seems, and his secrets intersect directly with Lily's. What follows is suspense and romance as they work through not only their relationship but both of their secrets and the danger that brings with it.

Her Renegade Cowboy is so fabulous. If you love suspense then you are in for a treat. Lily is so strong, stubborn and feisty. I love her strength so much. Levi is a man of mystery cowboy who is more then what he seems. I love the pull between Levi and Lily. Their banter will pull you right in as Levi takes on feisty Lily. I love how protective Levi is of Lily yet does not treat her like she is so broken. As Lily's past comes to light you get so sucked into this one. I love where Lora Leigh takes us when it comes to Lily and Levi. This one will have you glued to the pages and maybe fanning yourself just a little in the process too. You really need to meet Lily and Levi today.

Lora Leigh can bring the spice and it is sizzling in this one. I loved every word of it. It has been some time since I have read a book by Leigh and I am reminded at how amazing of a writer she is. Lily and Levi are wrapped up in an intense and twisty tale that has them colliding with each other unexpectedly but OH was it perfection. I could not get enough and I loved the anticipation and build throughout the pages!

Although this is the third book in the series, it reads as a stand-alone.

Lily Donovan, an elementary school teacher, has a secret that only two other people are aware of, but this secret has cost Lily. She's not the same person that she once was and she's much more guarded than she used to be.

Levi Roberts gets hired on Lily's cousin's ranch, but Levi has a secret of his own. He's quite taken with Lily from the first time he lays eyes on her and decides he'd like to know her better.

Both Lily and Levi, have walls along with secrets. What starts off with Lily putting Levi in his place soon turns to Lily being intrigued about the cowboy. He makes her feel safe. Levi knows he's crossed boundaries, but he's in too deep to back away. He knows he needs to disclose his secret and hopes Lily will understand. Before he gets the chance, another local takes it upon himself to let the cat out of the bag to Lily's cousin, Jacob, then with Lily.

The timing is awful, Levi's investigation takes a turn for the worst and puts Lily in danger. She's too spitting mad with the news delivered to her, to listen to anything Levi has to say.

A ploy, Levi and his superiors didn't see coming has left Lily vulnerable. Unable to get in touch with his superior, has Levi teaming up with Jacob and when Lily takes off, it becomes a cat and mouse chase to beat this fugitive at his game.

I loved the chemistry between Lily and Levi, she was feisty and he was self-assured. Levi had a way of wearing Lily down, such as; after being rebuffed to share some of her pizza in the end still managed to get a slice. Following an angry outburst, the ice cream went a long way to smooth things out.

Classic Lora Leigh romance!

School teacher Lily Donovan likes the new cowboy on her cousin’s ranch but US Marshal Levi Roberts is working as a cowboy in Deer Haven to keep an eye on Lily after she was the main witness in a trial without letting anybody know why he was there. But their sudden attraction could jeopardize everything for both of them when her attacker escaped from prison.

Her Renegade Cowboy is a classic Lora Leigh romance with instant attraction between Lily and Levi mixed with a lot of suspense when her attacker escapes from prison and Levi finally had to come clean about his real job.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and St. Martin’s. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was good but it wasn't it. It was steamy like all Lora Leigh books but i felt like i was missing out onb he suspense and got more predictability. I appreciated the heroine being a fighter through and through but some of her actions contradicted herself.

3.5/5

I was not a huge fan of this book when the story first started out. It seemed like it was going to be an on the edge of your seat kind of book which I was excited about I mean who doesn't love a good mystery book with love story mixed in. However that changes once you find out who Levi really is then the book becomes predictable and all about sex and how Levi seems to want to use it to distract Lily from who he truly is. It just seems like so many other books out there that I have read recently. I will say that I did like Lily she was a fighter and she was going to not hide and let someone else fight for her. She was going to be right there and fight for herself. There is adult situations and content throughout this book so may not be suitable for all readers.

This was a romantic suspense with lots of heat thrown in... and I do mean lots of heat. Lily was a very strong female character who suffered a traumatic event in the past and was strong enough to try to get justice for herself. She's pretty guy shy now, but finds herself attracted to the new cowboy working on her cousin's ranch.

Levi is one attractive guy who's real reason for being on the ranch is to protects Lily. He's immediately attracted to the mouthy, stubborn Lily which, of course, could cause huge problems. When danger comes calling, he's determined to protect her at all costs, even at the cost of his job.

I loved the attraction between the two, but Lily falling into bed almost immediately with him just didn't jive with her past. I wish the author had taken a little more time getting them to that point.

Heat level 3.5.

Wonderful characters who make the burning embers of attraction ignite to flames on the page! This is my first Lora Leigh book but I will return for more.

A feisty school teacher and a hot cowboy steam up the pages. Lily is keeping secrets and masking it under her stubbornness. Levi also has secrets that are tied to his job. This is a fast paced story. The characters are interesting and witty. The plot develops organically and doesn’t leave you guessing as to the outcomes. As a couple their growth is great and makes the reader want cheer them on.
