Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for gifting me this ebook!
Reckless Girls was one of my favorite summer thriller reads with its perfect remote island setting and friendly strangers who didn’t quite seem to be what they projected! You will have no trouble bingeing this fast-paced thriller!

I had read this book was compared to Ruth, ware another author, who I really love. This book had all of the twists, and turns that I would expect with a great storyline and characters. When they arrived to the island and seen the other boat, I could not put the book down at that point, thank you net galley for the opportunity to review this book.

I am sorry I put this one off for so long...this was great!!! Loved it from the beginning..deserted island, everyone with a shady past, then a stranger shows up!?!?!

That is my recipe for a great book. Worth the read!

Found myself guessing until the end and was engaged throughout the book.

I loved the setting of this book but unfortunately the rest didn’t really work for me. I felt like in theory it should have been one that I enjoyed as all the key components were there but I struggled to stay interested in the characters and a lot of aspects just felt a little too unbelievable for me. I did enjoy one of the twists but overall it wasn’t a favourite of mine.

Reckless Girls was such a great thriller and a really interesting plot line in itself. I was not expecting the way things played out once they actually arrived at the island. And I will say that the last plot twist and ending definitely caught me by surprise. The location also makes for an interesting book, set in a tropical, yet isolated paradise. I look forward to reading more from Rachel Hawkins in the future.

This book was, in typical Rachel Hawkins fashion, incredibly stunning and edge of your seat suspenseful. The characters fit together like puzzle pieces of a whole, and when those pieces do finally fit together in the end, it's a stunning gut punch that you love. The setting, isolation, and fast pace of the plot make this the type of book you simply cannot post down. For those who enjoyed Hawkins' previous work, as well as The Guest List -- this is the type of suspenseful, character driven thriller that you won't be able to put down, and will have you looking over your shoulder for weeks.

I loved the setting of this book. It was like nothing I had read before! It kept me on my toes the whole time. I was always waiting for something to happen. This book has suchhhhh a good ending! I didn’t see it coming! Those are my favorite kinds of books, Highly recommend!

Lux has been drifting through life. She had been in college but left when her mother got sick and then spent her time nursing her through her end. Now she is waitressing and trying to decide what to do next when Nico walks in. He is gorgeous and seems to want to be with her. After a few weeks together, Nico suggests that they get on his ship and sail to Hawaii. Months later, Lux is in another dead end job while Nico spends his time at the marina. That changes when two girls, Brittany and Emma, offer him $50,000 to take them to a deserted island.

Meroe Island is gorgeous but has a haunted reputation. Over the years, those stranded there have not survived or survived by means they aren't willing to discuss later. It served as a military airstrip during the war and that occasionally brings travelers to visit but they don't stay long. But the four arrive and are entranced with the views and the sheltered cove they find.

The only fly in the ointment is that another ship is there, but Jake and Elisa are Australians who are great mates, willing to share their food and drink and soon the six of them are all friends, spending their days sunning and swimming and their nights partying. But as the days go by, secrets start to emerge and tensions start to bubble up. Then the first person goes missing, then another....

This is my first Rachel Hawkins novel and she is a great suspense writer. Each character has their own backstory and there is also an underlying class theme going on. There are secrets and betrayals and realliances until the end story is played out. This book is recommended for readers of psychological thrillers.

Reckless Girls was one of favorites this year..it was really good. Loaded with great characters, interesting storylines, and left me questioning my every” which reckless girl was it” thought. So thanks to Netgalley, St. Martins Press and Rachel Hawkins for this ARC. My reviews are on Goodreads, Amazon, B&N , and my on line book clubs..

Okay so I really like Rachel Hawkins writing. But this one wasn’t my favourite. It was just too unbelievable to me, and I am usually great at letting go and just going with the story. The travelling with strangers and then the end just wasn’t enough for me. It just got a little too “reckless” for me. It was a quick read though, and I am looking forward to Rachel’s next book!

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for my free eARC in exchange for my honest review. All words and opinions are my own.

I loved this one. It was fresh, felt real and I had a hard time putting it down. The twists and turns were enough to surprise me and I thought it was a great read.

I did enjoy this cast of characters, but not my favorite from Rachel Hawkins. I also really enjoyed the island setting - sometimes it's hard to find thrillers set in a bright, sunshiney place!

Rachel Hawkins has a lifelong fan. I really enjoy Reckless Girls! It is very well-paced and keeps you interested throughout the whole story. To me, the characters are very well written as well and stand off of the page. I can't wait to read more books by Rachel.

This was a mostly engaging novel, although maybe not an incredibly "thrilling" thriller. I was invested in the characters and did not realize who the culprit was in a genre that can sometimes be very predictable. Solid 4 star read. Thank you so much to the publisher, Rachel Hawkins, and Netgalley for my copy of Reckless Girls! Perfect summer read and I recommend it for all those mood/theme readers.

There were a ton of great reviews on this one so I was very happy to get an early copy, unfortunately it fell flat for me. It was more confusing than enjoyable and I ended up DNFing at about halfway because I could not get into it at all.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for this eARC!

I enjoyed this book overall, especially at the beginning. To start on the island it was very mysterious and full of suspense but also kind of magical with the remote tropical island setting. The middle seemed to drag a bit and it got pretty weird in some parts. I stuck with it though because the island was supposed to have this lord of the flies like quality. In the end though some of it was just not believable and it didn’t tie up all the loose ends tidily for me. I also got a little confused at the very end with brand new characters appearing. Overall 3 starts a decent read

I liked this book. It had some twists and kept my attention.. My rating is a 3.5, but closer to a 4 than a 3. It was the first book I've read by this author and will read more from her.

This was a fun thriller to read. It had romance, mystery and was a quick read. Think Lost meets Clue and the ending well that was worth reading this book!

This book had the most promise (from the synopsis) of any of Rachel Hawkins’ stories. Unfortunately, I think this my least favorite of all of them. While she and her books are widely popular, I’ve decided that I’m really just not a fan. I won’t be reading future books by her.
