Thank you to NetGalley and Jessica Kingsley Publishers for this early release copy in exchange for an honest review!

This book is such a wonderful resource for children (and adults) to learn all about gender and pronouns. The illustrations were absolutely gorgeous and the diversity of all the characters who helped teach the messages of this book were amazing to see! This book should be in all of the classrooms and libraries and I hope that so many children (and adults) will get their hands on this book and learn from it! :)

This was a lovely little book that makes a good job of introducing gender and pronouns to children in a very kid-friendly, delicate, and informative manner. I really liked the inclusion of neopronouns—with an accompanying pronoun chart!—and the glossary of terms at the end. Additionally, it includes some tips and resources for parents, which can be very useful.

All in all, I think this kind of book is deeply needed in today's society. The best way to bring visibility and to normalise is to start from childhood, so this was fantastic.

The Pronoun Book is a useful children's book on pronouns and how to use them. It contains nice illustrations, and it is simple and informative. I think this book will be useful also for older kids.

Thanks to the publisher for the ARC and the opportunity to read this! All opinions are my own.

What a wonderful book this was!!

The conversation about pronouns was one I didn't know how to approach. While my husband and I make an effort to bring up conversations about inclusion and gender, it was hard to come up with language that a six-year-old can understand but also explain by himself.

This book was amazing. It explores every aspect of pronouns in an easy way to digest even for smaller children. It uses appropriate language that communicates the importance of correct pronoun usage without being sanctimonious, and it also provides explanations behind the definitions related to gender and pronouns.

I loved reading the book to my child. The way the information is presented was great because I had my child reading one side of the conversation while I read the other, so he got a better understanding of pronouns. It also gives a detailed list of new pronouns, which was great because I had no idea some of those even existed so I also learned something new.

Overall, an amazing book with a great message and lovely illustrations. Will be getting a printed copy because it's amazing!

I would like to start by telling you that I got an ARC (advanced readers copy) of this book.
"The Pronouns Book" is a wonderful book that teaches children about pronouns. It coverings misgendering, neo-pronouns, and it even tells you how to tell teachers and parents about the pronouns of people. It keeps it simple to understand so children of all ages can grasp the meaning of the book. Overall this was wonderful and I will read this to my future children if I chose to have some.

Another fantastic title from Jessica Kingsley Publishers!

Corrigan and Milton (the illustrator) created a very easy to understand guide to pronouns and their importance for kids and adults alike. With colourful illustration of diverse people, this book gives an insight into how people go about finding their right pronouns. I'm especially happy to see the "preferred pronouns" things addresses - they're not preferred, they're *mandatory*. This book also includes letters that parents/guardians can use when approaching schools etc about their child(ren)'s pronouns and a handy table of how to use pronouns and neopronouns!

A great way to kick off a conversation about pronouns with kids. Simple, clear, and concise, this is a book you can refer to for years to come. It also provides helpful sample letters to teachers and friends and a glossary of terms.

Thank you to NetGalley and Jessica Kingsley Publishers for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

”Changing pronouns can be scary. But no matter what pronouns you use, those who matter most will love and support you all the same.”

Thank you NetGalley and Jessica Kingsley Publishers for the opportunity to read this amazing book!

This is one of those wholesome and very important books every kid (and adult) should read at least once in their lives. It's inclusive, kind, intersectional and uses a language and vocabulary easy to understand for and at all ages.
It reads a bit more like a leaflet than an actual book but that is really not important.

It explains concepts such as non-binary, intersex or neo-pronoun, that people might not be familiar with or might not fully understand, in easy ways to grasp.

It is beautifully illustrated and comes with a glossary of terms and suggestions for how to speak to people you might not know.

It was simply wonderful.

This book was so cute. A great way to teach young kids, or even adults, about pronouns. I found myself learning along the way, past the basics of the most popular three pronouns. The illustrations are also gorgeous and nicely coloured, and I loved the representation of people in the book as they discussed pronouns. You should definitely pick this up for your kids or a friend when it comes out in October. Glad I got to read it early through Netgalley.

I believe this to be a great book to introduce children (and some adults, to be honest) to pronouns. This is a great way to start a conversation with a child about pronouns, being queer,... I do think this might be a book to go over a couple of times with a child. It might be a lot of terms to learn and immediately fully understand.
Definitely a good read!
As a translator, I hope this book will get translated, so we can put it on the shelves where I live and teach everyone the pronouns in our own language as well.

This book is a great resource for teachers and parents to help children and themselves navigate pronouns. This book provides reference websites, tips and resources, and a handy pronoun chart. A great addition to any learning library to promote inclusivity and increase basic human decency.

Every household, school and library needs this book. It's helpful, educational and a great reference book for pronouns.

The illustrations and layout make for easy access and clear headings means it's easy to dip in and out and find the subject you want to discuss.
Its bold and bright, eye catching and useful.
The book takes us through pronouns and how to use them correctly whilst highlighting the importance of the kindness and respect in using someones correct pronoun. With all the do's and don'ts described and reasoned in this book you will feel more confident using pronouns as a result of reading this book.

A huge benefit of this book is the amazing resources. I particularly love the pronoun chart and glossary of terms in the parent help section. Both of these will be so helpful as a teaching tool both in the home and education systems, something I would defiantly like to use when teaching equality and diversity in my own college. My students are mostly 16+ so this book can really cover multiple age groups.

This book also contains sample letters for parents and teachers to help highlight the importance of using the correct pronouns for your child and I think that's a really powerful tool.

I really hope this books finds the hands of many children and adults alike to further educate future generations.

This book is so important!! It was inclusive, well thought out and I adored the illustrations.

I really liked that the author included the harm misgendering can do along with examples for parents on how to support their child if they identify as anyone other than cis.

A great book for young and old alike :)

Thank you to the publisher for sending me a e-copy of this book. I'm in the search of my pronouns and this was encouraging and informative. I'll pass and recommend this book to everyone. It's time we get educated. Parents and children! Thank you for creating this book, hats off to the illustrator too.
P.S. I'm almost sure my pronouns are Xe/Xem 🥰
Thanks again!

Informative and clear. Illustrations and graphic format were a little repetitive, but a good intro to pronouns and gender identities.

I loved this! The art style is beautiful, and the way that all the different pronouns are explained is very informative and helpful. I think this would be a great way to explain gender identity and pronouns to older kids, and could be an amazing resource for having really important discussions with kids and adults. The letter templates at the end are also very thoughtful and useful! I definitely know some adults who could really learn something from a book like this, and kids who would enjoy reading about it!

The Pronoun Book gives information on how pronouns are used for different individuals. Many terms are defined and examples are given to explain when/how to use pronouns. There are great resources as well provided to learn more information. It is easy to read, and it is a wonderful resource for children and adults who want to learn more about the topic.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. It is a wonderful way to introduce the concept of pronouns to young children. The illustrations were beautiful and diverse in so many ways. I would definitely buy this book for my 4-year-old niece. I appreciated the resources for adults at the end as well, including sample letters to a child's teacher or friend's parent. I wish this book had been around when I was a kid.

Straightforward discussion about gender identity for kids. The format did not work well on Kindle and was slightly confusion. I will be looking for a finished copy in the future.
