I read "Catch and Kill" last year, and it was absolutely fascinating to read another side of the same journey to get all these indiscretions brought to light.

I wasn't able to read this book prior to it's pub date due to unforeseen circumstances in my personal life. I regret that I was not able to do this, but I want to let the publisher and Netgalley know that I did not simply ignore this responsibility. I appreciate the publisher, Netgalley, and the author for gifting me this copy anyway.

A very powerful and informative read! This book definitely brought me back to my days as a Nightly News intern. Although I may not have been the target audience for this book, since I am not a student journalist, I still feel this read would be a good addition to any journalism curriculum. This book gives a raw and unfiltered look into the Harvey Weinstein investigation which eventually led to the #MeToo Movement. Thank you Penguin Teen for sending me this ARC e-book through NetGalley!

Every young writer interested in journalism should have access to CHASING THE TRUTH: A YOUNG JOURNALIST'S GUIDE TO INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING. This book by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey is honest and informative. They show readers how their story that drastically altered the lives of many people--and finally opened a huge spotlight on a known, yet hidden issue of the treatment of women in Hollywood (as well as other fields)--while also placing everything in the context of 2017. They offer students (and readers) an opportunity to see how this work unfolded from "day one," giving first-hand accounts of sourcing and writing the story. That alone is valuable. Yet Kantor and Twohey also offer concrete tips and insight that young journalists need to know. In this always-changing field, it's hard to know all that young journalists may face and this book gives real answers.

In addition, I will be recommending CHASING THE TRUTH to my writing students who want to use their words to make a difference and create change. The way this book is written is riveting. When I first started reading, I intended to skim a few pages, then come back to it. Instead, I found myself several chapters in before I could pull myself away. This book is an excellent example of the power of people telling their stories. I highly recommend it!

I tried reading Chasing the Truth, but it didn't grab me. I don't know if it was the mood I was in or the style. I'll have to try another time since I do think it has potential.

This is fascinating and engrossing, and I can see a lot of teens really liking it. I think it's a bit too pedantic/clearly educational to be a Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers, but I def will seek out the final print book.
