A great rom-com to take you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Will recommend to anyone who enjoys rom-coms.

One thing I love about being a prime member is that I get Amazon First Reads, which is a book that you receive a month before it's available to others which is how I grabbed my first ever Cathy Yardley book. I had received an ARC of this book the week before, funny how things work out it was like the universe was telling me I had to read this book and soon. I didn't have a chance to read it before the release but once I was able to sit and enjoy it I downloaded the audio version so I would be submerged into the world of Love, Comment, Subscribe and I'm so glad I did because Jenapher Zheng and David Lee Huynh did a wonderful job of bringing Lily and Tobin to life.

This book is such a reflection of the times we are living in. You have bloggers and vloggers all trying their hardest to get noticed and believe me when I tell you it isn't easy. Lily and Tobin will show you just how hard it can be in this sweet and sexy read.

Lily Wang wanted to be popular in high school but she wasn't one of the cool kids, she was part of the Nerd Herd along with Tobin Bui. They each have their own vlogging channels on YouTube and are always looking for something new to do to entice new viewers to Love, Comment, and Subscribe to their channels. We are taken on the journey to not only find new followers but so much more.

I not only loved Lily and Tobin but all of their friends from their High School days that we have met and I am really looking forward to continuing this series.

If you enjoy New Adult Romances, Contemporary Romances, RomComs or Friends-to-Lovers Romances I would recommend this book to you.

Happy Reading!!!

Love, Comment, Subscribe is a super cute story. It’s very contemporary and the slowest of slow burn. Friends/enemies to lovers sort of story set in the world of YouTubers.

“He was jazz. She was a military march . . . the kind where the band would get shot if they got a note wrong.”

Up and coming beauty influencer EverLily is uber-focused on her career and trying to add to her followers. A collaboration with former high school frienemy and gaming YouTuber, GoofyBui just might be the shot her channel needs to move it to the next level.

“I’m a dog, Lily.” …
“I’m silly, and happy, and mostly harmless,” he explained. “You, on the other hand, are a cat. You’re beautiful and finicky, and despite any attempts for a dog to play with you, you would probably hiss before clawing the hell out of me.”

Tobin has always had a bit of a crush on Lily but he has to help her realize that there is real life to be lived beyond the likes, comments and subscribers!
I listened to some of this story on audiobook and the narration was wonderful.

I really didn't enjoy this one and so I didn't finish it. I couldn't make myself care anything about the characters unfortunately. I think though that it was just me, I"m not into the beauty and social influencer thing. So I hate to give it a rating, but I will just to be able to get this marked off as a review on there. While there was definitely the beginning that made me interested in what would happen between the two as grownups, I just couldn't quite care when it got into their separate personal lives. I tried to wait until they got back together in the same town and maybe things would work better for me, but it just took too long, so I gave up.

Cathy Yardley has penned a fun and feisty contemporary romance with her latest novel, Love, Comment, Subscribe.

In high school, Lily Wang wanted to be popular, but instead she hung around with a tight group of oddballs who had called themselves the Nerd Herd. Lily would have loved to have been considered cool in high school, but that wasn’t to be. Many years later, Lily hasn’t quite given up her dream to become famous and she has been busy carving out a career for herself as a beauty influencer. Lily is on the cusp of superstardom – she just needs to hit five million subscribers in order for a cosmetics company to take her seriously and make her long-cherished dream of having her own make-up line a reality.

Fellow Nerd Herd frenemy Tobin Bui has also found his niche online. As a popular Youtube gamer Tobin has had his fair share of rocky starts. He had incurred his parents’ wrath by dropping out of college and although he had thought that he had found his calling, he is finding it hard to come up with new content and is in desperate need to reinvigorate his brand or else risk falling out of favor. Could Lily help him out of the bind he has found himself in?

Teaming up seems to be the answer to both of their prayers. Being on Tobin’s channel will help boost Lily’s brand and give his rather stale videos a breath of fresh air. However, what neither of them realized was that working in such close proximity together would lead to undeniable attraction. With the Internet watching their every move, will Lily and Tobin give in to their feelings for one another? Or will they keep their relationship strictly professional?

Cathy Yardley gives contemporary romance a fresh and modern twist by writing a sweet, sassy and sparkling twenty-first century tale that will make readers giggle. Set in a world of social media wars, online communities and viral fame, Love, Comment, Subscribe is a lively frenemies to lovers romance that sparkles with heat and humor and will leave readers with a massive grin on their face.

Love, Comment, Subscribe is the first book in the sexy rom com series, Ponto Beach Reunion, by Cathy Yardley. I love Cathy’s books! They are always a good time- fun, sweet and romantic. And I love that this book featuring influencers. I am always fascinated by social media portrayals in books and youtubers, beauty gurus, etc showing up in my fiction. I get a real kick out of it. I love the idea of checking in on a high school class several years later, so I know I am going to love this series.

In Love, Comment, Subscribe we meet our main characters Lily and Tobin, who were both part of the Nerd Herd in high school (same here). Now they are both youtube influencers- Tobin in gaming and Lily in the beauty sphere. I really enjoyed seeing a behind the scenes if you will of the influencer arena, because I found it totally relatable- all of the work that goes on behind the scenes, the planning, the brainstorming, the insecurity that your content might be a total flop, the burnout and discouragement when you don’t feel seen, and the very real tolls it can take mentally and physically on you. I think Cathy Yardley did a fantastic job addressing all of that, and she does it with a wonderful rom com woven throughout. Love, Comment, Subscribe was a delight to read!

Tobin and Lily have excellent chemistry and I was rooting for them hardcore! If you are a fan of romantic comedies and you love influencer “drama”, then look no further than Love, Comment, Subscribe. I loved this book!

I got home from class last night, and instead of sweet, sweet sleep I stayed up to read Love, Comment, Subscribe. Though I was very tired, this fun, sexy romance kept me awake. Do you love an enemies to lovers (or really more an annoying friend from high school to lovers) story? Are you interested in YouTube and influencer culture? Do you need more diverse romance stories? If the answer to any (or all) of these questions is yes, then Love, Comment, Subscribe should be your best romance read.

Love, Comment, Subscribe was surprisingly refreshing. The enemies to friends to lovers transformation was believable and devoid of much of the contrived conflict of the genre. Lily and Tobin had serious chemistry, and I kept turning the page to see what would happen next. I also loved the insights into the Youtube/influencer community. And the friends? The Nerd Herd? I adore them all! I can’t wait for the next book focusing on Tam and Josh!

5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was exactly what I needed it seems and it was utterly perfect!😍

#LoveCommentSubscribe is a #romcom about two frenemies who went to highschool together and basically were at each other's throats all the time. Now that they’re both adults they both have careers as professional YouTubers and they’re going to collaborate even though they and their channels are very different from each other. It is the perfect #EnemiesToLovers (or #frenemies to lovers) story and them being YouTubers made the book a perfect experience for me. (I know I’m not a YouTuber and I’m not even doing my #Bookstagram for a living, but it simply felt so relatable!!!)

This book has friendship, it has tension, it has nerds/geeks, mean girls, success, love, considers mental health, and has a very diverse set of characters… I could probably go on, but the main point is: I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this book. It was cute, funny with lots of #LaughOutLoud moments, it had emotional scenes and it just warmed my heart!😍💖

Besides a great writing style, which made the story flow and depicted the two characters’ emotions very well, the formatting of the story was entertaining as well. Between chapters we would always get the current stats of both Lily’s and Tobin’s channels, including follower amount, video views and recent comments. Seeing how those followers and commenters saw their interactions, collabs and ultimately their developing relationship (and seeing them being shipped of all things🤣) was so much fun and brought a smile to my face everytime!

Without saying much more about the story itself, because you know, I want to keep things mainly #spoilerfree as always…

If you are in the mood for a #romanticcomedy want something relatable and #SocialMedia related or simply want an enemies-to-lovers story (frankly speaking even if you prefer #friendstolovers this could be right for you) then this is your book! Go and give it a go and I hope you’ll love it as much as I did!🥰❤️

Lily is a hard-working, very driven beauty YouTuber. She's struggling with her content and she's fighting hard to get more subscribers and fulfill her dreams: getting a palette in collaboration with a great brand and ultimately getting her makeup brand. She's willing to do everything she can, even collaborating with her high school frenemy: Tobin.

Tobin Bui is a very funny, creative, gamer YouTuber. One of his videos went viral and he's struggling with the pressure of posting funny content regularly. On top of that, his parents keep telling him he doesn't have a real job and he should go back to college. When Lily contacts him, out of the blue, and asks him to do a series of videos with her, he doesn't think it'll work. He thinks she'll probably kill him... but he ends up giving in.

I had so much fun while reading this book! I watch YouTube almost every day, mostly beauty and booktube channels and I also love gaming, so I was super excited about Lily and Tobin's romance. It starts slow, but as soon as Lily and Tobin start making videos together... their chemistry is off the charts! I loved these two together, their banter, the way they complement each other, their obvious attraction, they were so, so, so sweet together. I also enjoyed the representation, the details regarding a content creator's work and schedule, the importance of mental health, and how essential it is to stop and take a break.

The conflict, near the end, was a little predictable and I was a little disappointed in Lily's reaction. Not too much, though, considering it made sense for her to react that way, but Tobin was so sweet... I wanted her to react differently. Fortunately, Lily came to her senses very quickly and I loved how she chose to apologize.

Love, Comment, Subscribe was a fun read! It was sweet, cute, entertaining with unique, fantastic characters and steamy moments. A perfect slow burn, frenemies-to-lovers romance. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

This one sounded super cute and I liked the uniqueness of the Youtube concept but I couldn't quite get into Lily. She was too old to still be trying to fit in with the popular high school crowd. It was interesting how they both created careers online because in this day of social media it's becoming more common as we move into a digital world. So it's nice to see that normalized and get a peek into that world when it comes to the channels with higher sub counts.

Love, Comment, Subscribe
By Cathy Yardley

How could I have not read a Cathy Yardley book before. This book is my first and definitely would not be my last.

I happen to be an #ownvoice reviewer for this book and love the representation of a Taiwanese American protagonist.

The story is about Lily and Tobin who knew each other in high school but not really fond of each other. Many years later, both are rising social media stars and could really help each other gain the following, hence the collaboration. Their chemistry together heats up as their videos become viral.

I thought the writing was engaging and I enjoyed the characters and their never give up attitude and to believe in themselves. The character building was amazing to read and see their arc throughout the story. I really enjoyed this one a lot.

Bloggers/influencers like us definitely struggle while finding new ideas to create content or grow their account in the ever-changing world of social media! Love, Comment, Subscribe centers around that very context, while throwing an adorable romance into the mix! Also, I love how the "like" part got crossed off in the title, because comments bring in more engagement 😂

The plot of LCS features frenemies Lily Wang and Tobin Bui, a beauty influencer and a Gamer respectively ~ and the events that follow when they collaborate to gain more popularity through their channels. Swipe to read full synopsis! I absolutely loved how entertaining and relatable the whole story was! Lily and Tobin are so adorable together, and even though the romance between them was of the "slow-burn" kind, I really loved seeing their relationship develop through their collaboration. The banter and comedic conversations between them were out of this world! I enjoyed the content they created together (with heart eyes) just as much as the viewers in the book did. 😌

Low self-esteem was one of the major themes of the book. I really appreciated how the author touched on the subject along with the importance of taking breaks through Lily's POV! Maintaining social media is a very tough job and with a huge following comes a lot of expectations. Cathy Yardley expressed these relatable situations through her characters, and I loved every part of it! The people from the Nerd Herd group were all so amazing! Can't wait to read the next books in the series!

If you're looking for a book with a fun yet relatable setting, I definitely recommend picking it up! ❤️

A fun, entertaining romance from Cathy Yardley!

I loved the set up with Lily and Tobin being part of the geek group in high school and then both finding work and relative success as YouTubers. When they reconnect right before their 10 year reunion there is lots of chemistry and really great banter. It was fun watching their relationship grown and change.

It was interesting, too, learning a little behind the scenes info about what would go into being a professional YouTuber/content creator. There is so much more to consider then the viewer realizes.

I am looking forward to more books in the series!

Love, Comment, Subscribe by Cathy Yardley kept me up literally all night reading! This was such an adorable frenemies-to-lovers romance and I really enjoyed it!

Uptight high-achieving Lily Wang, an up and coming beauty influencer, wants to grow her audience and stumbles into collaborating with her childhood frenemy, Tobin Bui. Tobin, a viral prank and gaming vlogger, is dealing with creative burn-out and so agrees to the collab.

This books was just super fun but also with a lot of heart and emotions. I particularly loved:
- Chinese heroine and Viet/Brit hero
- Competence porn and fantastic behind the scenes of the influencer world
- Frenemies-to-lovers with great banter
- Sweet sweet snuggles
- Neurodiverse MC
- Differing immigrant stories
- I hate his face to sneaky blushing peeks 🥰☺️
- Secret crushes
I also particularly enjoyed that even though the MCs didn’t get along, there was no meanness in their early interactions. It was purely a personality clash and it was so nice to see the relationship evolve into real appréciation for each other.

I can’t wait to read about the rest of the Nerd Herd!

Thank you to the author for the arc!

Release: 1 October

She's a beauty influencer. He's a gamer. They each have millions of subscribers. However, it does not seem like enough. Needing to create more content to keep the momentum of likes going higher and higher, Lily Wang (EverLily) and Toby Bui (GoofyBui) begin a collaboration between their channels. This will not come easy for either of them, because although having known each other since grade school, they are enemies and their memories of their pasts is not good.

How will their first reaction video go? They are opposites in just about every way. Will their different take on things cause everything to crash and burn, or will they hit the ground running? He is energetic, and has ADHD. She is calm, thoughtful, and not one to improvise. Considering these differences, and their vastly different content, this is a huge risk to both of their social media presences.

Love, Comment, Subscribe is a New Adult novel that will definitely appeal to a large audience. The story is relatable and quite enjoyable, with a few surprises along the way. While Toby and Lily certainly had their differences, it didn't take them long to move past feelings of negativity and dislike to see something underneath. Something compelling. How they got there was a delight to read.

As much as I enjoy social media and truly think that I could never live without it, this book gave a terrific window into the hard work that keeping up a strong presence requires. Exhausting, but rewarding. This enjoyable read had diverse characters and the frenemies to lovers trope was handled quite well as the scenarios were compelling. There was more than one message in this book such as bringing attention to mental health when one's life is in front of the camera. I love that this is the first book in a new series and I can't wait to see what's next.

Many thanks to Montlake and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Tobin and Lily were unexpected and super adorable!

I will not lie I did have some reservations about Lily! She was so rigid and by the book but I think that’s what the author was going for! Lily really had a lot to figure out and learn. I liked being a part of that journey and seeing her grow into a very confident woman!

It’s amazing how much we got to know about both Tobin and Lily in their few weeks together! The author did an amazing job at character building! I feel and hope there are more Nerd Herd books in the future because I need to know some more about these amazing characters.

I love that one of the themes we see in the book is to not give up on yourself! Both characters had many doubts about themselves and in the end they just needed to have faith and believe in their vision! I think this book is a great read and was very enjoyable!

The story provides insight into the life of social media stars through Lily Wang and Tobin Bui, both with very different strategies for creating content. Despite being opposites, Tobin and Lily have great chemistry with each other. Reading their thoughts as both realized their attraction to the other person was swoon-inducing.

Although I grew to like Lily, it was difficult at first. She seems a genuinely nice person and is relatively drama-free on social media, but I always felt like I had to be careful because I wasn't sure when or if she would turn on her current friends when she easily fell out of touch with her old friends. It was hard to completely sympathize with her. She is a planner and extremely organized, maybe even too rigid when it comes to adhering to structure. Tobin was easily my favorite character. Often disorganized and at his best under pressure, he is well aware of who he is and stays true to himself. His friends are important to him. The great thing about opposites is how they can balance one another out--mannered and organized Lily with fun and spontaneous Tobin. They are exactly what the other needs.

Although the book may have started a little slow, it was an enjoyable read once their collaboration began.
Individuals who enjoy contemporary romances where frenemies turn into lovers and opposites attract may enjoy Love, Comment, Subscribe. (3.5 stars rounded to 4 stars)

I never knew what it took to be a social media influencer and after this book I don’t think I ever want to become one. 🤣.
Lily shows us just how much stress and planning etc goes into making a career out of YouTube but Tobin is the one who shows us the effects. Mental health is important.
I loved Tobin. His carefree, easy, funny nature spoke to me. On the other hand I had a hard time liking Lily. She felt so….I’m not sure how to describe her. She just didn’t speak to me very well. She felt a bit “spoiled” if you will.
Overall I highly enjoyed the story and the way Lily and Tobin helped each other grown and watching them fall in love. Can’t wait for the rest of the series! I need to know what happens to Emily!

Lilly and Tobin have renewed my love for the frenemies to lovers trope!

This is my first time reading Cathy Yardley and I really enjoyed her writing style. Lilly and Tobin and the entire "Nerd Herd" are my kind of people. I loved how their lives have evolved from high school to adulthood.

They started as a reluctant YouTuber and Influencer collaboration and evolved into so much more. I laughed at how Tobin was the comic relief to Lilly's high stressed, over achiever persona.

This was a fun, light hearted read and I highly recommend to anyone in need of a change of pace from heavy topics!
