I have to admit that when I started reading this, I couldn't remember much about the first book in the series. (Tempting The Dragon King) other than that I really enjoyed it. Fortunately, much of it came back as I read this, but it didn't really matter and I think that you could still enjoy this as a stand-alone novel.
Orik is the strong but loveable hero that I do enjoy in this kind of book. He is captain of the guard and has clearly spent much of his life looking after other people, rather than worrying about himself. Fortunately, he is thrown in the path of a woman who is more than capable of matching him in every way. She finds herself abducted from the earth and then intercepted, but despite being a seemingly helpless human faced with a planet of alien dragon shifters, she isn't one to go down without a fight. I love books with strong heroines and Jessie is all that and more. She has a softer side, which comes out with her natural affinity for animals, but she is certainly not about to be controlled or overruled by a dragon lord. It's perhaps fortunate for both of them, that the chemistry between them is off the charts, or they would probably have killed each other within the first few chapters.
I really enjoyed this read. I have to admit that a book set on another planet and populated by aliens isn't my first choice. But I'm really enjoying this series. We get a small glimpse of what the next book might be about, but I'm guessing that I might have to wait a while until I can read it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
ARC received for review
I wasn't expected Orik to get the next book. I was expecting it to be Gavin or even Lear, but I loved Orik so I'm not sad.
Jessie is different from June. She's braver and not as timid about this new world she finds herself on. Orik had to overcome his prejeduces before they can move forward. I loved how their relationship developed. Lots of drama, action, magic, dragons, creatures, love and sex. Plus King Tristan and June. I loved the Earth "jokes" between Jessie and June.
Book three is going to be good too, even thought it's not who I want. Who do I want you ask...Prince Gavin and the white hair witch.
A thrilling romance. I liked the plot and enjoyed reading about the "Dragon shifters" Fast-paced and a happy ending.
Seduced by the Dragon Lord is a phenomenal second book in Kiersten Fay's fabulous new series! It has all the heart, determination, hope, and passion that you could ever ask for. I really enjoyed the sex scene as they are written very well. This book has a great pace to it. This book has everything you want action and mystical begins.
Ok, I DID enjoy this book, the story, the characters and overall it was a pleasure BUT after about the 3rd sex scene I was tired of the pages and pages of erotica. I was forced to start scanning pages to get back to the story which normally would have reduce this to a 3 star level but I did really enjoy the story so I gave it 4 Stars but it was a near thing. Between the hero and his overwhelming paranoia of witches (understandable but tiresome) and the heroine vacillating between supergirl, TSTL and swooning then throw in keeping secrets that could have made things smoother, it is obvious that it was the story that kept me enthralled with the book. I have not read book 1 but the author did a good job of giving you pretty much everything you needed to know about the previous story and so I do not feel I have to go back and get book 1 to understand anything unless I just wish to at some point. So 4 Stars, overdone sex but outstanding story makes it 4 Stars for me.
Seduced by the Dragon Lord is a phenomenal second book in Kiersten Fay's fabulous new series! It has all the heart, determination, hope, and passion that you could ever ask for. The characters were truly amazing, and their struggle was a living and breathing thing that evolved into something too stunning for words. This story eviscerated my heart and then created it anew to my utter astonishment. Readers who enjoy being fully immersed in a breathtakingly, vivid world and are surrounded by marvelous characters will fall hopelessly in love with every aspect of this story. No part of your heart will be left untouched.
Kiersten Fay is a wickedly talented author who knows how to expertly ensnare her readers and potential readers. She gives you everything and then a little more in order to leave you truly breathless and hopelessly wrecked. Her writing is magical and evocative and will leave you a different person. You can't hope to dive into this book and not be changed at the other end. I dare you to try.
This is the second book in the series, very steamy Orik and Jessie's story is interesting, they couldn't be more different, but they work, their chemistry is off the charts and it did have the romantic side I really liked. We get to see Tristan and June from Tempting the Dragon King, you can read it as a standalone but if you read the previous one it will make more sense. The world-building is fantastic, I really liked the way the author has described it all. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Jessie is out for a walk in the woods when she stumbles into a cave to wait out the thunderstorm that pops up. But the cave is more than she could ever imagine and when she accidentally presses the wrong button, an alien space craft carries her away. But she isn't going to let the aliens get their hands on her when the ship is intercepted.
Orik learned the hard way that witches are trouble when they killed his parents for no reason. So when he and his people intercept an enemies ship and find a human woman inside and is finally able to get her to come out, he finds he likes her but she might be more than human.
This book starts off so sad when Orik is a child and finds his dragon shifter parents have been murdered. But after Jessie finds out that their queen is also a human and the queen makes her feel safer, she stops being so scared for a while. The queen is married to royalty, which makes her the queen but she's still getting used to that. Jessie is given a room, actually a large suite of her own but she just wants to be able to go out and walk around the garden. She doesn't like being cooped up in her room all the time and when she calls Orik to take her out he always has an excuse why he can't. So Jessie escapes her room on more than one occasion and Orik always finds her. This last time though, Jessie finds herself in trouble when a menacing witch finds her and puts a tracking spell on her that Orik can smell when he finds her.
Jessie is starting to think that she might have some magic inside her but if she does she has to keep it hidden because dragons don't like witches and Orik is known as the destroyer because he's vowed to kill the witches he comes across because he thinks they are all evil. So Jessie isn't sure that he won't kill her without giving her a chance to show him that she isn't evil even though she's not sure that she really is a witch. They get thrown together in a cabin waiting for a storm to pass and they get to know one another better but she's still not sure she can trust him with all her secrets.
When the truth comes out Orik reacts in a bad way and so do most of the other dragons but Orik and Jessie find themselves in a lot of danger.
This story was so good. Jessie is sassy, sarcastic and has a determined fighting spirit. While Orik wasn't sure about her at first, it sure didn't take long to see that he admired her and found her attractive. These two were so good together. I also loved Jessie's little animal friend, Phoenix. Orik was terrified of this little ball of fluff but Jessie had a way with animals and Phoenix loved her.
I received an e-ARC of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Good story! Jessie is no shrinking violet. She fearlessly defends herself when she finds herself on an alien planet after being whisked away from Earth. Orik is loyal and ready to defend. Totally alpha. Love a good Alien Dragon story! Good follow-up to the first book.
I love this series, these sexy dragons from another planet. I can’t wait to see what happens next and to find out if the ships left on earth are a trap.
I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Jessie is one bad broad, she really knows how to protect herself. Orik didn’t really know what to do with this new earthling as June was relatively easy.
I loved going back in time to understand what had happened to Orik that made him the way he is. It was very tragic and saddening but needed to be told.
However this book didn’t hit me the way I would have liked it to. I can't put my finger on what it is I didn’t like about it. Except to say that the chance of me picking this book back up to have a reread is a no. June and Tristan are a once a month reread for me.
Smexy, funny, exciting action. Jessie the heroine is a firecracker and fascinating to follow her escapades. Truly fun book to read.
I had so much fun reading this book. I've been reading Kristen's books for years so it didn't surprise me in the least that Seduced By The Dragon Lord was as good as it was.
Orik and Jessie's story was fun, action packed with lots of sizzling chemistry.
Witches and dragons are mortal enemies but hey, the heart wants what the heart wants, and who are Orik and Jessie to let a little thing like traditional enmity get in the way of sexual attraction.
Seduced by the Dragon Lord is the second book in Kiersten Fay’s Dragon Lords series and is of the sci-fi/paranormal genre or space dragons and witches. It’s not something I would normally have read but I did enjoy this book. The storyline is good and action filled with humorous dialogue, mostly from the heroine Jessie, and engaged my interest from the beginning and the author describes each scene so vividly it was easy to visualise it as I read. It made a nice change from my usual choice of reading matter.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series, 2nd in the series. This book reads great as a stand alone. Jessie is a curious, adventurous woman. Orik is a dragon. This is a fun, quirky book! I really enjoyed it. Loved Nix!!!! I truly enjoyed Jessie's affinity with animals. 4 stars I think that most paranormal romance readers would enjoy.
Another amazing book! I couldn’t put it down. This book gives the reader a little bit of everything a great book needs. Alien dragons, witches, and a spunky human keep the reader enthralled. Imagine enjoying nature on a hike and ending up on a space ship that takes off locking you inside. Trapped for weeks with only you imagination. Jessie will give Orik a run for his money. He hates witches. They killed his family and tortured him. This human seems to be a witch. They are intensely attracted to one another, but can’t stand each other. What will happen? Be sure to read to find out.
What a great read! Jessie is human and stumbles on the adventure of a lifetime. I loved her attitude and strength. In this book you have space travel, abduction, dragons, royalty and witches. I laughed at the end as it was so unexpected. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and freely leave this honest review.
“And understand me. I don’t give up and I don’t give in. I won’t be some alien’s science project without a fight. And I can stay in here for months if I want. I found all the goodies. Pantry’s full. And I’m locked and loaded, buddy.” With these words, Jessie jumps into the most dangerous game of all: challenging a dragon. Her attitude is as fierce as it is courageous. Escaping her captivity, learning about a new world, realizing just how powerful she is becoming is no easy feat. But the most important understanding she makes is knowing how to bring fear and love together.
Kiersten Fay always takes me away and this book took me to another planet with dragons, which I wasn’t sorry for at all. Her writing always has me laughing and falling in love, and with characters so flawed they’re perfection and so suited to one another despite what they may thing you can’t help but root for them. I read the first book in this series and can’t wait for the next, because I think the writing gets even better with every book. Jessie was everything adventurous and snarky that I could never be and Orik had all that brooding hotness and a bag of chips I crave in an alpha male, put them together and you have explosions, in and out of the bedroom. Toss in a murdering psychotic witch and a pet that may or may not rip out your throat, and this book was everything I didn’t know I was craving and more. I truly fun read I can’t wait to recommend to my friends.
I appreciate the opportunity to read a free copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased opinion and honest review.
Wow, excellent addition to this series! Very intense, as in The Matrix intense, from start to finish. I like Jessie, she is very strong-willed, clever and optimistic even though she doesn't understand everything that is happening around and in her. Orik is an alpha warrior, fights hard and with determination to protect and serve his family yet can't seem to keep up with this little human spitfire. The threat seeking the royals is clever, powerful and very dangerous. Unlikely as it seems, these two make a great team when they're not one others opponent but practice makes perfect and love has no boundaries. Steamy, magical, action-packed and romantic suspense, what an entertaining adventure.
