This has three different timelines from multiple points of view. It goes into the pursuit of Xibalba and the plane of, and to get answers from the god/goddess. Also the sacrifices to please them usually captives. Talks about Mayan culture from character mayan depiction point of view. Where it goes from The culture to myth of a disappearing people. Where they can't still exist attitude pre-notion. Where trying to force another religion on to the descendents of ancient mayans culture.
One Timeline Feels Dystopian, One deals with the misread part that everyone was dealing with 2012, and one was dealing with the last mayan King and Queen.
The book brings out alot of emotions but confusions at the same time.

Three timelines, thousands of years, one cave deep in the heart of Belize. Each piece of the story asks questions of identity and belonging, what it means to exist, as they all come together into one!
From ancient Mayan civilization to a future utopian Earth, this book beautifully crafts a story for the ages! I was hooked from the start of each timeline, and I was always wanting more from each of them! It felt as though each timeline was another world, another life, and the way that they were woven together was amazing!
I greatly enjoyed the world that was built and I loved seeing the influence of Mayan culture on this story. It is a culture that I know little about, and I loved learning through this story and gaining some insight!
At first, I was very confused about the world-building, but I think that it was very well done and in the end, I loved each timeline! I do have to say that I was made a bit uncomfortable by a couple of the themes in the book, but they were handled with care and research, and I appreciated that as well!
If you're looking for a unique and breathtaking, thought-provoking story, this is just the book for you!
