Thank you to the author, NetGalley and Forge Books for allowing me to be a Super Reader for this book and read it in advance of its publication date (Sept 14 2021).
Lily Atwood seemingly has the perfect life. Or does she? She is an award-winning TV reporter in Boston. A single mom with a young daughter. Her publisher, Greer, is seemingly content to be out of the spotlight. Lily's life does indeed seem perfect....until the bouquet of flowers show up at her house with a card signed "From Cassie". Cassie is Lily's sister who disappeared when she was 18 and Lily was 7. Or did she disappear?
This is a fast-paced book that kept me guessing until the end. The characters are interesting and intriguing and the story sucks you right in.
This was tough because, though there was alot to like, one character was so painfully stupid she just infected everything around her. So.
I really wanted to like this book because of the author but I felt the plot was ridiculous and the only person I liked in the book was Cassie. The dialogue throughout the book was also poor. The only part I liked was the last few chapters leading up to the big climax and the ending other than that I felt this was a disappointment.
Cannot recommend this Hank Phillipi Ryan book and hope future books are better. This author is on the verge of being on my list of "Authors Not to Read" which includes Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Ruth Ware, Nicci French and others. I am not even going there with male authors.
Just awful, do not waste your time.
Thanks to Netgalley, Hank Phillipi Ryan and MIcMillan Tor-Forge Forge for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

While “Her Perfect Life” does have its merits, I must admit that I really struggled with this one. Slow paced and boasting self-absorbed, one-dimensional characters that are hard to like and relate to, I was tempted to call it quits by the half-way point. I pushed through, however, and discovered that the second half moved more swiftly than the first and was a bit more suspenseful, though I had already surmised parts of the plot twist before the actual reveal. And while the ending was a bit lackluster for my personal liking, all in all, “Her Perfect Life” is a fairly decent mystery, one that this author’s fan base will most likely enjoy more than I did, seeing as how I am a “newbie” to her writing.
There are certain authors I know by name whose books I will buy without looking for the story blurb. Hank Phillippi Ryan is one of those authors. For those of you who aren't familiar with this author you can expect interesting subjects, well written prose and a mystery that you won't figure out half way through the book. Her Perfect Life fits all the criteria plus well developed characters who are likeable. I had no idea who was running the show.
I liked. This book enough to give it a five star rating.
I received an advanced reader's copy from Tor-Forge through NetGalley. All opinions s pressed are completely my own.

Another great thriller by Hank Phillippi Ryan! It took me a little while to really get into it but when I did, I could'nt put it down! There was really great character development in the beginning of the story before everything unfolded. I loved getting to hear each character's perspective. And it was also told in the past and present which was interesting. I loved it and was surprised by some twists in the end!
Another hit for Hank Phillipi Ryan! Thanks you NetGalley for the ARC and the chance to read this new book in advance of it's September publication.
Her Perfect Life tells a story from 3 points of view - Lily Atwood - a TV reporter; Greer, her producer and Cassie - someone from Lily's past.
Lily is a well known TV reporter with a 7 year old daughter and a long held secret. A mysterious source contacts Lily, disclosing elements of her past that no one knew, she fears for her safety and that of her daughter.
It is a page turner with twists and turns that will have you guessing until the end. I could not put the book down!
Don't miss this one!
I received a complimentary copy of Her Perfect Life from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
Fantastic mystery! I was not expecting so many twists and turns. Just when I thought I knew what was happening in the famous Lily Atwood’s life, new information concerning: her source, “Smith”; her daughter, Rowan; or her missing sister, Cassie would be introduced and I would be back to square one in my speculations. Greer, the producer behind the scenes, is tasked with keeping up the facade of Lily’s perfect life—despite mysterious revelations.
Thank you to the publisher for an e-ARC of this novel.
This was a quick and engaging read. Unlike many books, I didn't figure out the ending early on, and enjoyed reading it through to find out how it resolved.
Oh wow! If you like twists and turns, read this book! Join Lily, a television reporter on her suspenseful journey with an anonymous person telling her things about her own life! This book is well written and kept my attention. I wanted to see what happened next! What a great read!
This was the first time I read a book by Hank Phillippi Ryan and what a book this was.
What is it about?
Successfull women who stand in the spotlight, family relationships, love, friendship and all of this combined with an old mystery and lots of tension.
I loved Lily for all her strengh as well as her flaws. Her development throughout the story is remarkable. #PerfectLily isn't that perfect at all and this is what makes her such a perfect protagonist.
Thanks a lot #NetGalley #Macmillan-Tor/Forge Books for an advanced reading copy
Lily Atwood has it all. A career, a lovely daughter, money, fame and beauty. Except her perfectly crafted life hides heartbreak from her past. When her trusty source stops feeding her stories and starts getting entangled in the things she's tried to hide the most, Lily has to fight to protect her darkest secrets.
Told through the points of view of three different women, Her Perfect Life is a fast-paced thriller that had me hold out my breath during my reading. From what the source was hiding, to Greer's motives and the truth of what happened to Cassie, I couldn't put this book down.
Her Perfect Life by Hank Phillippi Ryan is the "perfect "read. I went into this book not knowing what to anticipate since I had never read a book by this author. After reading Her Perfect Life, I will read anything that this author writes!
Lily has the "perfect life" or does she? Lily is a a news reporter and by all appearances has it all together. But, when Lily was younger, her much older Cassie left for college never to return. But, Lily has no idea what happened to Cassie. Soon, however, Lily and her assistant, Greer, will be pulled into the past and and when a Detective enters their lives, they will both be consumed with solving Cassie's disappearance. What exactly happened to Cassie? Will they be able to solve Cassie's case?
This is a very fast paced read full of twists and turns and suspense! I can't recommend this one enough!
336 pages, and the best part of this book was the last 10%. So often I wanted to give up, but I pushed on. Yes, the ending was worth it; it wasn't something I came close to expecting. But to spend this much on a book that is only exciting for so little of it...well, that just isn't right.
The characters are all supposed to be adults, except Cassie, whose story is told in the past -yes, this book is told by three of the characters. I can understand some of Cassie's mistakes during her segments of this book; she was a young teenager. But as far as Greer went, she just seemed to be a backbiting *itch. And Lily...well, what can I say about her? She had her snobbish moments. Did Li.y or Greer never once think (or rather I should say the author) that they had an actual money-making job to do? Nope, we never seemed to have that piffle work its way into the story.
It still will most likely be a good book for those who follow this author. This was my first novel by her, and I am not sure if I'll try another. I don't particularly appreciate feeling dragged through a story by my hair.

I was given an early copy of Her Perfect Life in exchange for an honest review.
Let me start by saying I really adore this author. She’s got some writing chops and is personally so sweet. She always comments on my bookstagram posts.
I will always be a fan and always read and support her books.
Her Perfect Life was not my favorite book. I think it was a strange concept and I just didn’t get it. It was messy. I’m not even sure why someone would hide out and sacrifice their family and life for this reason. Very hard for me to connect with and it was slow for me to get though.
I know this is an unpopular opinion and I enjoyed it but it was just ok. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’ll be back again though -
Her Perfect Life is a gripping thriller that had me at the edge of my seat from the very first chapter. This is the story of Lily, the picture- perfect reporter who strives to maintain her flawless image while fiercely protecting her seven year old daughter. When it seems that Lily's long missing (and presumed dead) sister may still be alive, Lily is thrown into a struggle to maintain her glossy television persona while uncovering the shocking truth. I read this in less than a day and can't wait to get my hands on some more thrillers by Ryan!
Wow! What can I say about this book? I received an advance reader copy of this book but that has no effect whatsoever on my review of this book. We all know that things are not always as they seem but then sometimes things that we think or that someone tells us as truth are not what they seem to be either. This book deals with people that you work with and then also with family, truth and deception and reunions. Don’t want to spoil anything, just read the book, I think you will like it. One of my favorite authors and she never disappoints!
This is a real page Turner that I couldn't put down. Shortish chapters help it to move quickly. Plot twists are surprisiy and unexpected. Greer wasn't my favorite character - she whined alot - but I see how it worked in the end.
Lily Atwood is an award winning television reporter with a secret from her past that she would like to keep private. Does someone know too much about her and want to ruin her life, and the lives of her loved ones? Her Perfect Life is another phenomenal thrill ride by Hank Phillipi Ryan. I was glued to the pages and couldn't put this book down. I highly recommend this book!
I thought this book was ridiculous. None of the characters were even remotely likable and the only parts I found my mind not drifting was Cassie’s. The whole premise was so silly and frankly, not executed very well. The dialogue was strange and at times absurd. The twist at the end was interesting but not mind blowing or anything. I had high hopes for this as I saw good reviews so I might be in the minority here but for me, this was a major dud.
