Be Bold can be, of course, nothing short of bold itself. It has bright colors and engaging illustrations to keep the reader engaged. The written content is inspiring and uplifting. What do we want for ourselves? Her questions really have you digging deep for self reflection, while realizing we don't have to have it 100% together to be truly confident.
Each chapter focuses on what we can do to get it with fun exercises and strategies to become your most bold self. It truly doesn't feel like you're putting in any work. By the end of the book you question why you were ever doubting yourself and find that you're standing up taller than ever before.

The difference of living by default and living by design is choosing how you want to show up to life each day. And then moment by moment making that choice again and again'.

I really enjoyed #BeBold by #AnnaGoldstein it is a quick and easy read and very easy to dip in and out of and read a chapter at a time. The #book is split into sections and the layout is great. The chapter layout has the science behind it, then mini activities in each section with bright, clear pages to follow.

One particular chapter that really caught my attention was about finding your 'emotional home base' and questioning why you think like that and tweaking it. If we default to a negative state learning to recognise this and reframing it when you notice it and consciously directing it to a different place.

It's  beautiful book and I think it would make a great gift for a friend or for yourself

Thank you for the arc.

I was so excited to start this book but it completely missed the mark for me! I would still recommend it to anyone who's never read books on this topic cause, compared to others, this one is an easy breezy read.

I think this would be an amazing read for a teenager/young adult. Anyone struggling with confidence will be helped with this but I definitely will be getting this for my teenager.

When I requested Be Bold from Netgalley, I was looking to branch out from what I ‘normally’ read. Lately I’ve been branching out into reading things to help my mental state. I thought this would be a fantastic addition to that mental arsenal I’ve been building up.

I like the bright colors in the book. It really helped pick out these sections and made the subject matter–which has the potential to not be all that fun–feel exciting and fresh and fun. Goldstein also did a good job on relating to the readers by explaining times in her life where she wasn’t quite so confident.

I found I didn’t get all that much out of it. A lot of the content seemed outwardly focused, not quite in a ‘fake it ’til you make it’ way, but in stating that to be confident, you must be working to do something that will benefit others. I think the problem with this is that I’m not sure I agree with the core concept, so reading a ‘philosophy’ I didn’t think was accurate soured things a little bit for me.

Another roadblock I ran into was that while Goldstein told us a lot about her own journey to ‘confidence,’ her personal story was a bit scattered, and while it wasn’t necessary, the disjointed nature made it hard to form a timeline of how things ‘might’ look if I was to follow her philosophy.

If you’ve never picked up a ‘self-help’ book, and you’re looking for some tips to gain some confidence and achieve your goals, I’d recommend this to you. It’s light, and fun, and very easy to read. Sometimes, books of this nature can be confusing and jargon-y, but not this one. And, like I said, the colorful pages make it really fun to keep turning them, and the activities do make you think and get a little introspective, which is always nice.

(Actual rating 2.5, rounded up as always)

”Begin to notice that thinking is happening all the time -- and recognize that these thoughts arise and come and go. Treat them as thoughts, without believing they are true. Watch your thoughts come and go like clouds, coasting through clear blue sky."

Be Bold is firstly pulchritudinous with it's colorful graphics, pretty fonts and modern accent designs, and gorgeous stock photographs of clouds gracing nearly every chapter.

When I began to read the book, I didn't know what to really expect other than some self help tips and exercises. As I made my way through the first chapter, "The Voice in Your Head," I realized it's more than a self-help book on gaining confidence; Be Bold is thoroughly spiritual in its essence.

Goldstein quotes spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle, Buddhist nun Pema Chodron, and psychologist Abraham Maslow among other influential thinkers to support her own theories on how to live a fuller life.

I quite liked the design of the book, and found a lot of her stories well-formed. It is truly difficult to begin the task of taking charge of one's life in a new way, especially if you've been experiencing imposter syndrome or body image issues. Ah, the human condition...

In addition to enjoying the stories, I found the exercises fun and introspective too. Particularly the letter to a friend prompt at the end of chapter six! Goldstein encourages you, the reader, to write a letter to a specific friend but date the letter two years in the future and write using the present tense. She instructs you to write about your daily life, what you have, where you are, etc. which is really interesting because I learned so much about what I care about that I thought I already knew but really didn't.

This book would be a great gift to yourself. It's not religious, but very much steeped in spirituality. You will likely get uncomfy but nothing goes *too* deep here.

Be Bold was a very informative read with lots of helpful tips and tricks to become more confident!

I enjoyed this book and found the activities at the end of the chapters to be really helpful and engaging! There is something for everyone in here.

The one thing I didn't really enjoy was how the first have feels very text book. There is a lot of info and just kind of gets dumped on your lap. However, if you can get past that and get to the second half... you will enjoy it! The author shares some really great stories and some funny insights.

If you like self help books you will most likely enjoy this one! Its more so on the beginner said but like I said, there are some really good activities!

I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read, but also very engaging. The colorful format gave it a fun, fresh feel to the reading experience. There were exercises to help you better understand confidence and doubts throughout the book, which was a nice added feature not many books have.

Would recommend to those looking to help build confidence and take steps to overcome self-doubt.
