Bound by Samantha Wilde is a fast action paced novel. The book was a fast-paced ride from the get go, centering on Lexi Ivanov an investigative journalist who is trying to find out the truth about her murdered family whilst getting caught up in secrets and life or death situations, especially when she steals something from an important company (aka the mafia) and they want it back, regardless of how they get it. Along the way, Lexi must seduce Nash Holmes to get something from him which will help her get the truth, but all it seems to do is open a can of worms that puts her in the Brotherhoods crosshairs and especially Nash's!
From the get-go, this book was charged with intrigue, action and sexy moments between Lexi and Nash. Both characters are a little hot headed, stubborn and have instant chemistry which comes off the pages!
This is a dark, mafia read with some strong themes running through it, it has a lot of mystery and suspense, with a few questions left at the end. But this is a series and there are some other characters in the book who I’m hoping get their own books. Overall, a really good start to a new series.
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊

I really enjoyed this book, I thought is was super engaging from the outset. We are dropped literally dropped right into the middle of the action. Loved the way that both characters grew during this book. I loved Nick's growth and the way that he worked with Lexi. I also thought this book way really sexy, which is a huge plus in my book. Overall I thought this book was a wonderful romantic suspense, and am a big fan.
3.5 stars
Even with its darker themes... this book wasn't as dark as I thought it would be and that left me a bit disappointed.
And although I liked the main characters, their relationship and personal growth and the mystery and the plot were great, overall I wanted more.
Still, I would recommend this for someone looking for a romance book with a darker edge.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review
Lexi, an investigative journalist, is looking for a top secret ledger belonging to Lionsgate Kinship. She believes they murdered her family because they are hiding a terrible secret. Nash Holmes, an enforcer in the organization, has possession of it. When Lexi drugs him and steals the ledger, Nash goes after her and opens his heart to the truth.
This romantic suspense is full of grit and love. The romance between the two main characters seemed secondary to the suspense story, which kept me at the edge of my seat, biting my nails until the last word on the last page. I loved the story, I only wish there was more of a romance. But, I will be definitely reading the next one in this series. I received an advanced reader's copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
I could not put this down!
The writing style, the suspense, and the acing of this story had me trying yo keep my eyes open i the wee hours of the morning. Putting it down willingly was not a possibility.
I loved the chemistry/relationship of our two main characters.
I was left with questions about her brother at the end- but it seems like he will be getting his own book so .. insert happy dance here.
Can't wait to read more from this author.
Wow, this was a spectacular and electrifying romantic suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the read! I've read the Pretty Thieves books written by this author as Samantha Keith and thoroughly enjoyed them so I was excited when I read the blurb for Bound and recognized on the cover that she was writing as Samantha Wilde. I couldn't wait to dig into this story and I was not disappointed. This being the first book in the Blood Brothers Series, it introduces us to the Lionsgate Kinship organization and what that entails. There's quite a few secondary characters that were very well written and it's my hope that Ms. Wilde/Keith gives us books on them as well. This is mainly Nash and Lexi's story and what a story they tell. Lots of twists and turns and exciting suspense! I loved the slow burn between these two even though they had instant scorching chemistry. In my opinion, it was the perfect combination of suspense and romance and I can't wait for the next book in this series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
Destroying those who killed her family, Lexi will do just about anything to expose them and get what they deserved. The sexy Nash is sent to stop her permanently. Reading this book, you see from the beginning those two have a chemistry off the charts. I liked how Lexi has a backbone and stands up to everyone and is not afraid, yet vulnerable at the same time. Nash I think sees that and does everything he can to protect her, even though they are on opposite sides.
This was a fantastic book one in Samantha Wildes’s new series and I can't wait to read the next one.
This book has an excellent plot. Its kept. me on the edge of my seating turning the pages. There is nothing more gratifying than a gorgeous man rescuing a bad ass damsel in distress.I can't wait for the next book,
Bound is a Mafia-themed romantic suspense novel that I thought thoroughly delivered on the romance and the suspense. Our heroine, Lexi is an investigative journalist trying to take down the crime organisation that murdered her family. During her investigation she lands on the wrong side of enforcer, Nash and ends up on the run from him and his bosses. As their attraction grows, Lexi has to convince Nash to help her instead of handing her over to the men who want her dead.
From the very first scene I was absolutely hooked and desperate to find out what was going on. I loved how determined Lexi was to find the answers she needed, even when it became clear that she was out of her league. Nash was a strong, swoon-worth hero. I really appreciated the fact that while Nash was a tough, alpha hero, he still took the time to listen to Lexi and actually hear what she was saying. It definitely wasn't one of the darker romances I've ever read, Nash is quite a considerate captor but it was a thrilling, action packed romance and I would absolutely read something by this author again in the future.
*I recieved a copy of Bound in return for an honest review. Thank you to the author and publisher*
I really struggle to write reviews for books that I'm not obsessed with. Like, I enjoyed it, but I didn't love it. The spice is fantastic, but there were some issues that I had that made it hard for me to continue enjoying the book. I suppose I expected Nash to be a harsh, brooding, concrete wall of a mafia member...but he turned out to be a cinnamon roll that was soft with Alexis just because he was attracted to her. The more I read, the more I was finding it unbelievable.
That being said, I still enjoyed the read and would read the next book in the series because the writing is fantastic and there is always room for growth (which is why I will never swear off an author just because I didn't love a book).
This book gets three stars for the great writing, good spice, and fun story.
I received an ARC copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I love escapist books, and this one delivered. From the murder of a family, to revenge, to a change of sides, the evils of human trafficking, organized crime, revenge, romance.. enemies to lovers. Phew. It certainly kept me entertained and am looking forward to reading other books in the series.
Hot! Hot! Hot! I enjoyed this book from start to finish, even though the plot was a bit far-fetched. I loved how it was lust at first sight, and I loved how our hero was a leader and not a follower. The heroine was a bit foolish at times, leading to her almost getting killed, but she seemed to wise up towards the end. I also LOVED the rough around the edges brothers, and cannot wait to read their stories. Excellent!
What a fast-paced, sexy thrill ride this book was! The action starts at the very beginning and never lets up. Such an entertaining brain-candy read.
Lexi Ivanov will stop at nothing to get revenge against the Lionsgate Kinship organization for the murders of her family. An organization that her father and brother believed in until an uncovering of secrets that led to their deaths. Now it's up to Lexi to expose the organizations secrets, secrets that the group will do anything to keep buried.
Nash Holmes would give his life for the Lionsgate Kinship. Plucked out of foster care and adopted by the organizations leader, Nash has nothing but love and respect for Lionsgate. Rising through the ranks, Nash is put in charge of protecting Lionsgate's most important possession, the organization's ledger. After being drugged and robbed by the beautiful Lexi, Nash must stop at nothing to get the ledger back while protecting both their lives.
BOUND is a story of two people growing together to form a stronger bond then they had before while learning some hard truths about the world around them. This is an entertaining book that the reader will not want to put down.
She's no one's idea of a victim; he's no one's idea of a hero. Together they make a powerful team, one step ahead of would-be assassins in Moscow and the U.S., searching for a truth that could destroy them. Full of action and suspense with just enough heat to keep things interesting.
To Whom This May Concern:
I would first like to say that this is the first time I am reading a product of Samantha Wilde. This is the first book in the Blood Brother’s series.
The couple in this book is Alexis Ivanov and Nash Holmes. The relationship started off by Alexis tricking Nash, so she can get what she wants. Nash finds her and deals with her. The couple’s vibe is enemies to lovers in a sense. However, they were enemies on false pretenses. The female main character did not develop as well as the male main character. Alexis is a journalist and Nash is a day trader with a habit on the side.
In this book, the plot was revolves around Alexis Ivanov trying to figure out what her brother, Brooks, left for her. By doing that, she runs into Nash Holmes and manipulates him. Alexis had a heroine superior complex that was just annoying to read. For example, she had to do this or that when in actuality she just caused more problems. The book is written in dual point of view, Alexis and Nash.
The “romance” scene was not steamy. I will never judge on the amount of romance scenes in a book, but more the quality of the scenes themselves. The first actual steam scene was at 65% of the book. It is more of a slow burn than anything. There is only one scene, which was lackluster as well.
The ending of the book tied the book together and the character’s conflicts were address.
With that being said, I give the book a 4 out of 5. The plot was very well written, but I felt the main relationship lacked passion.
With thanks.
Disclaimer: I did get this book for free through NetGalley. However, I did not get paid for a skewed review. This is an honest review with no intentions to sway readers to persuade sales.
This was an amazing book to read. It kept me on the seat of my pants and captured me from page 1. If you love enemies to lovers trope with action, romance, and a wild ride this is for you!
I was fortunate enough to get an advance copy and extremely pleased I did. Wilde is clearly a brilliant writer who knows exactly how to tell a story! I was drawn in by the first few chapters loved the romance/mafia storyline unfold before my eyes. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me a copy of this book.
This was an intense story for sure! I definitely couldn't put it down, and stayed up all night until I finished it. This was my first Samantha Wilde book, and will not be my last.
This is the first Samantha Wilde's book that I've read and I have to say that her writing is really good.
I really liked this book. The plot was amazing and there were moments that were so suspenseful, that I just couldn't put down the book. I've read some reviews that said that this was a dark romance and I got kind of confused after reading it, because I have no idea where they got that from. I mean there is mafia and we are introduced to some really hard topics, but the romance between the main characters is anything but dark. They kind of have that lovers to enemies to kinda friends to lovers romance and I loved every second of it.
Lexi is an investigative reporter and is looking to take down the group that killed her family. She goes undercover to get a ledger from Nash, an enforcer for the Lionsgate Kinship. She drugs him and takes the ledger and runs. Nash has to tell the Grand Chancellor, also his adopted father, that the ledger was stolen. His job is to get the ledger back and kill Lexi. When Nash finally catches up to Lexi, he’s not able to kill her but when she shares what she’s figured out, Nash helps her. While running for their lives, Nash and Lexi can’t fight the attraction between them. When Lexi is taken, Nash rushes to her rescue but will he get to her in time?
Action and edge of your seat suspense. It took me a couple of days to read but because I kept stopping because I was afraid of what would happen next 😂. It is an excellent story and I would recommend it to anyone who’s a fan of romantic suspense with some sex.
