Hey! A Colorful Mystery by Kate Read is a fun, vibrant children's picture book. The illustrations are stunning and vivid and the story is a lot of fun. I would recommend this most for children in preschool and kindergarten.
Thank you Peachtree Publishing and NetGalley for providing this ARC.

First: I love the title!
Second: I love the art!
Third: The story is very cute- I chuckled a little at the beginning thinking there would be a lesson on the dangers spreading rumors, which is the one thing I think could have made the story a little stronger. A grown-up or teacher could certainly use the book to teach about rumor mills, but I would have liked this book a little bit better if it had been tied in.
Overall, a very cute book, and I really liked the color theory information at the end.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A game of telephone is played between the sea creatures.

Hey! A Colorful Mystery is a beautifully illustrated game of telephone that takes place in the deep blue sea. Full of color-filled language, but also new vocabulary (e.g., "shoal), the book encourages basic concepts for early elementary students in a new way. I feel that the author could have emphasized the emotions in the book in some other ways to drive the story, but I did like the color information at the end.

I love all the vibrant colors in this book, not surprisingly since colorful is in the title. Kids will love reading this one and seeing all of the different fish as well. Beautiful!
