Wow! Absolutely a different iteration of Mickey and the gang that I'm used to (appearance-wise), but the character personalities are still there, so it feels authentic. I really enjoyed the action and feel that students (even older ones that are Disney fans) will, too!
The art style in this was great - a non-standard, elongated, less realistic interpretation of classic Disney characters. The plot wasn't much, but it was diverting enough, and the art was interesting enough, to make this a fun read (my son especially liked it).
I had a great time reading this graphic novel. When Donald Duck hears about a new game show he decides to become a contestant. His friends quickly follow all hoping to win some fabulous prizes. Each round only gets tougher and the prizes aren’t as great as Donald hoped they might be. Yet as the final door gets opened Donald will have a tough choice to make.
I didn’t care for the graphics. I’m not a fan of the way the Disney characters are drawn now. The story was predictable and tedious. There was also no attempt to write the story with the characters inflections and speech patterns. Scrooge is Scottish. Donald grumbles. Goofy chuckles goofily. None of these were observed. It made the story flat to not have some of those characteristics.
