I appreciate the publisher allowing me to read this book. I really enjoyed reading it the plot was interesting and the characters made me want to know more about them. I highly recommend.

This could have been a much better book! Set in post-war Rome, Nathan Epstein is looking for work, and in quite a cliche, falls in with a bunch of anarchists looking to pull off a heist, a mafioso and his girlfriend, and gets to work as an editor at Cinecitta. The film editing bits are the best part of the book- very insightful about the process and written very well. Rome is a spectacular city, and the writer describes it very evocatively. If only the plot had even been a little better, and the women characters not been written so awfully , this would have been a very enjoyable book. With these though, it's merely a mediocre read. Maybe the author should have focussed on his experiences at Cinecitta, and how his editing career evolved- given the level of insight and experience he brings to the topic, that would make for a good book.
