The whole set-up of this book is great. I love how it made what could have been a complex case easy to understand. This book would be great for kids who are interested in true crime and cases. I enjoyed the art as well as the additional facts that were included. This is definitely a book I would recommend to kids interested in true crime.

I loved this book for middle schoolers. Kids this age love unsolved mysteries, “bad guys”, and graphic novels and this checked all the boxes. There was plenty of historic detail and explanation about Alcatraz. I think it will capture the interest of many reluctant readers. This will be a great addition for middle school and upper elementary school classrooms and libraries.

I was pleasantly surprised my the amount of information and details in this graphic book. I assumed it would be lacking because of the comic book format, but I was wrong.
