I really enjoyed this book! My expectations were quite low to be honest, but it really surprised me. It's a quick read and absolutely hilarious! Milo, Gwen and Trudy are the perfect trio, their dynamics reminded me so much of the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus. If you'd like a quick read to put you in the spooky time mood now that we're getting closer to Halloween, I highly recommend this book!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the author, for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
So endearing! Even though I read this in the summer, it makes me want to pull out my chunky sweaters and cozy up with some hot cider. I may have considered pulling out a pumpkin candle.
A Letter to Three Witches is a witty and relational story. It held my attention and drew me in with a well crafted mystery. I felt like I was a part of the crew. I wanted it to be a bit more fantastical, but that’s mostly just my opinion. I recommend this for a quick, enjoyable read—especially for people who love stories set in the real world!
Such a fun little read, a great book for people who have just got out of book slump or finished a series and are looking for something little to read. For me this was proof that trying something new is a good thing. Definitely recommend
Light-hearted, bright, fun, and silly, A Letter to Three Witches is a delightful read.
A family of witches who cannot work spells undergoes a transformation over a matter of days. The whirlwind is fun and outrageous, silly and romantic.
A Letter to Three Witches might not be a feat of literary wonder, but it is a delight and a treat. Fun to read over a weekend and will make you crave cupcakes for days.
Really creative; rounding up to 5 stars! What kind of car does a witch drive? Find the answer in Chapter 6. Funny. I love subtle little things like this.
How to curse a witch? This one was cursed with the gift of being good at knowing (xxx) and doing all the other witches (xxx). I found this hilarious.
And I loved, "Goodness no! Definitely no kooks in this family."
Put reality on hold and just enjoy A Letter to Three Witches for being a fun, cute, creative read. I breezed right through this one.
I didn't understand the first couple chapters/beginning. I was going to go back and re-read; but just as I was about to do that it all came together.
I don't see a lot of other 5 star reviews; I guess it was just what I needed at the time.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author Elizabeth Bass and the publisher Kensington Books for the opportunity to review A Letter to Three Witches in exchange for an honest review.
If you like me grew up watching Bewitched and Sabrina the Teenage Witch you will find this book interesting, fun and entertaining.
Its a cute, light read, perfect to relax with.
I started this book with high expectations. I fell in love with the cover and the description made the book sound great to me.
I sadly enough ended being dissapointed.
From the very first chapter I didn't really like the writing style. The story felt a bit all over the place and the ending felt rushed.
We start and meet the "villain" who throughout the book I thought was a character who was hateful and upset for no logical reason. (Spoiler coming up) If you're raised from a very young age by someone that tries their best, despite traumas you might have gone through, and gives you a loving home, would you really hate them that much? (End spoiler) I just thought Tannith's character wasn't great as bad guy.
The three cousins had a fun relationship, I liked that about them. But I missed a je ne sais quoi from each character.
What kept me reading was the fact I wanted to know who of their boyfriends would be the one leaving.
There were some funny parts but I felt it wasn't a book that reached it's full potential nor did the characters.
This was very refreshing and entertaining! The witches aspects added more charm to the story. All those secrets, mystery and humour was very enjoyable.
I didn't think I would enjoy this one as much as I did but it was a pleasant surprise! It was a fast paced, funny, cute, lightheart read that could be read in one sitting if I wasn't such a slow reader. It was one of those rare times where I didn't cringe looking at the love interest (enemies to lovers) although I think that their relationship moved quite fast for my liking. However,I think this book is possible to help you get out of your reading slump so do yourself a favor and get your hands on it!
First off, thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for this ARC copy for my honest review. This was a charming little read full of fun witchy hijinks!
A Letter to Three Witches begins with just that. Gwen, Milo, and Trudy all receive letters from Gwen's adopted "sister" and fellow cousin Tannith, warning them all that she is leaving town at the end of the week AND has bewitched one of their significant others into coming with her. But how can this be possible? Their family comes from a long line of witches who have been forbidden to use their magic or else suffer tragic consequences.
Things soon begin to unravel for the cousins, and their lives start to get weirder and weirder in the process, and what follows is a hilariously absurd plot that can only make you laugh at the ridiculousness and fun of it all.
If you want a little light hearted escape filled with an adorably witchy family, this book is for you!
Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for this ARC copy!
I came in blind, not knowing what I'll be reading. It was confusing at first - is this about Tannith or the Gwen or what? I found it a bit slow. But it eventually picked up and piqued my interest, wanting to know more - who is it gonna be? Who is running away with Tannith? It felt a bit all over the place, and some stuff weren't resolved, or was quickly resolved.
Nevertheless, it was a quick, light and fun read! Very entertaining!
Thank you netgalley and Kensington Books for this arc copy!
A fun and quick read about family, legacy and magic. For Gwen, her life in the town of Zenobia, New York is quiet and comfortable. She runs a business called Abracadabra Odd Job Service, a nod to the fact, that everyone in her family has magical power. The trick? one of her ancestors were responsible for the Dust Bowl in the US and as a punishment, her family is no longer allowed to practice magic. When one of her cousins, sends a rather threatening letter to Gwen and her other two cousins, the family's magical powers unravel and new discoveries come to life.

ARC provided by Netgalley for an honest review.
I'm not too sure of how to critique this book. The first part I found to be utterly boring. Gwen's great-great grandfather a witch/warlock (not sure how they'd describe the term) supposedly started the Dust Bowl back in the day with uncontrollable powers. His family and descendants have been banned from using magic ever since by the witch council. Cut to the present. Gwen and her cousins Milo and Trudy have received letters from their ridiculously vain cousin Tannith who has said at the end of the week that she will be stealing one of the men from one of their lives.
The first half of the book was the three cousins mainly worrying about who's man would be stolen by the vain and witchy Tannith. The last half of the book was a lot more enjoyable and had me interested more in the characters.
I have to be honest, I didn't enjoy this read. This book is all over the place, it's confusing, and not entertaining enough to justify the rambling in it. I would probably advise others to skip it.
I started second guessing myself as soon as I started reading this book and was afraid I had made a mistake. HOWEVER......I'm glad I stuck with it. When you read this, do not have high expectations that it will be the great american novel ...because it won't be. There are plenty of plot holes. BUT...it is indeed a fun, quick read. Don't overthink it as you read and you will totally enjoy this light hearted romantic comedy. Some places made me laugh out loud. After reading some heavy duty novels recently...this was a perfect change. Well done. And thank you to NetGalley for the ARC
A charming breezy story about magic, family, and love. It was fast-paced, easy to follow, and really enjoyable.
2.5 stars - This was a fun, light book. It was largely pretty predictable (so much so that it leaves you wondering how the main characters are so clueless). At the very beginning of the book, which is one of the chapters not the point of view of the main character, I thought I might actually DNF the book (which I NEVER do), luckily it got more readable after that. I thought the premise had a lot of potential, but it ended up a very light, silly book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for providing me access to this eARC!
This was a challenging read for me in I felt in the beginning it was a bit sluggish and slow. About halfway through though there is a shift and this quickly picks up into what I would describe as a romcom version of Charmed. Griz’s POV is was super fun for me, and I liked how the characters began to develop. Overall this was a quick fun read and I would recommend it to anyone looking for some lighthearted magic in their lives.
I want to thank NetGalley and Kensington Books for this eARC in change an honest review.
