I really wanted to like this but it just wasn't for me. I felt it was a little slow and I didn't get to connect with any of the characters, except Milo as they were very interesting. That being said, just because it isn't for me does not mean that you wouldn't like it.

This was a cute magical romance that kept the pages turning quickly. Grounded in a family history mystery, the main characters all attempted to control their magical abilities while navigating potential upheaval in their lives. While the villain seemed a bit too villainous at times (particularly in the beginning), she was fleshed out a bit by the end. In general, the characters were likeable and well-rounded. It was easy to root for them the whole way through. I’d certainly look forward to reading another book about these characters (though I’d rather a different or more fleshed out villain).

Ummmmm……

I have mixed feelings about this one. On one hand, I enjoyed the fast pace and lighthearted tone of the story. However, on the other hand, I was never fully invested in anything that happened. Like to be honest, I’m not going to remember anything about this book in a year from now.

At the time, It was a fun, entertaining read with crazy shenanigans. But overall, it was pretty forgettable.

Thank you NetGalley for letting me review this book.

This story revolves around a family of witches who are not allowed to use their magic due to a spell that went wrong over a hundred years ago. Gwen and her cousins Trudy and Milo have always made sure not to use their magic, though they may have used it for a few things while growing up, like getting out of the principal's office. One day her adoptive sister Tannith, sends them all letters saying she is moving to NYC, AND that she has bewitched one of their partners to leave with her. The cousins all worry who it could be, and with emotions on the rise, magic is in the air. Cupcakes make people have the emotions of the person who made them, people are disappearing, and the cousins have to put a stop to it, or be found out by the Watchers who make sure their family keeps their magic under wraps.

This is a cute and cozy novel, about a chaotic family, and their partners, who may or may not end up being right for them. While I thought it had a slow start, once the magic started, I had a great time with Gwen, Trudy, and Milo. There is also a talking cat, which is a bonus. While there is a romantic subplot, this is more about a family of witches coming into their power again. It is clean, and has the feel of a cozy mystery without the murder.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this one. It was funny, light-hearted, and interesting. At times, I wish it had more depth. It was definitely more of one of those feel-good books to read which I love!

Getting ready for the spooky, witchy season, I decided to pick this book up.
When I say I ate that book up like there was no tomorrow.
I was teetering dangerously on the edge of a nasty slump. I mean starting 10 books and leaving them kind of nasty, and this book was my savior.

I mean, seriously, what's there not to like?

✨A fun, easy, light-hearted read that made me laugh out loud.

✨WitchBook, Cackle and BrewTube. Any guesses as to what those could be?

✨Cupcakes, cupcakes, and more cupcakes. It was cupcake heaven. All flavors. Will surely leave you craving some.

✨I've always found familiars to be extremely interesting. And it always caught me off guard whenever they're in a book.
If only I could communicate with my pets the way witches do.

✨The relationship between the cousins was such a delight.

Dislikes:

✨Daniel could literally kill you with boredom. It's either that or drive you crazy with his accusations. I get him being distrustful, but he was still boring, and maybe controlling? There wasn't that much of a glimpse on him.

The premise for this book was very flimsy. A witch writes a threatening letter to her “cousins” saying she is leaving for NYC and will leave with one of their significant others. The witches are all paranoid about their relationships which says to me that the relationships are not solid. They all start acting strange and their relationships start to crumble. There’s a curse on this family of witches that says they can’t practice anymore but their magic is seeping out. If they are caught, they’ll be eliminated by the witches council. There’s an eccentric aunt that knows a lot more than she has shared over the years. There are plenty of hijinx and a new love interest/stalker but this is not the lighthearted fun that was promised in the description. The characters are shallow, rude and irrational and it’s just not a compelling story. I forced myself to finish this but can’t say that I enjoyed it much. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This one is such a quick, light read and throughly entertaining!
There are alot of dangerous scenarios for our characters to overcome, also plot holes in this book, but things that you can easily over miss if you are looking for that funny fast read.
The great great grandfather is aslo a treasure in this book, and one of the better characters. Bewitched meets Practical Magic in this sparkling and quirky rom-com with an enchanted twist. When romance problems cause their powers to go berserk, a trio of witches whose family was banned from practicing magic risk getting in serious trouble with the Grand Council. Can they get their magic—and their love lives—in order before it’s too late?

Ready to be enchanted? Elizabeth Bass' magical rom-com, A Letter to Three Witches, delivers on sparkling characters, compelling spells-gone-wrong, and pure witchy fun.

Taking place in the fictional New England town of Zenobia, our story introduces us to three witches (and one warlock) within the same cursed family. Years ago, Gwen's family might have maybe caused the Dust Bowl. In retaliation, the Grand Council of Witches carefully monitors all descendants, forbidding them from practicing the craft. Yet when Gwen's adoptive-sister Tannith decides to push and prod her cousins into action, all their family's carefully guarded secrets begin to unravel.

If you love family-centric stories (and movies) like Practical Magic and Charmed, you'll enjoy A Letter to Three Witches. While the pace is occasionally slow-going, the quirky characters and steady buildup of tension pay off before the end. Favorite aspects of mine include Trudy's cupcake fiascos, awkward encounters with Jeremy the grad student, and Griz the familiar cat. Unlike stories where magic seems to fix everything in a jiff, it only causes trouble for the cousins here, similar to Practical Magic. Although each character deals with real consequences for their actions, it's never too severe and almost always with a comedic bent.

While A Letter to Three Witches lacks gravitas, it's also an enjoyable light read, perfect for a fall evening under a cozy blanket with a cup of hot chocolate.

This was a fun read! Gwen and her cousins are interesting characters with a decent amount of complexity to them, and the general tone of the book was frothy and light. If you enjoy romances with a side of light magic, this is the book for you!

A Letter to Three Witches by Elizabeth Bass was FUN! This book is perfect for spooky season! Is a witch family still witchy if they aren’t allowed to perform magic? Enter the cupcake and cocktail coven. When the mean cousin sends a letter detailing each witch sparks will fly and toad transformations will happen. Can the cousins survive this week or will wicked witch of the west be their undoing?

The book is cute and syrupy. Almost too sweet, if I'm being honest. The main characters are like able. The situations are quirky, if a bit unbelievable and jumpy plot wise. None of the love interests hold string root for power. Buy, it's a cute witchy read, and the premise of the witch society is interesting. Also enjoyed the few limited chapters from Gris best.

Have you ever wonder what a sitcom version of Practical Magic would look like? Well this book is exactly that for me.

This is a story of three cousins Gwen, Trudy, and Milo. As well as Gwen's adopted sister Tannith. We find out at the beginning of the story that Gwen's whole family is forbidden from using their magic due to some action of their ancestors. There are also people called watchers who are tasked with making sure that people like Gwen and her family are not using their magic. As of right now I think this is supposed to be a standalone.

This is definetly a rom-com type of story with a little bit of some magical elements thrown in to add flavor. I think that the rom-com elements of the story were right on par with other books such as One Night on the Island by Josie Silver. I think that anyone going into this book thinking that it is a paranormal or fantasy book would be sadly mistaken.

I think that the characters all had their issues but I did enjoy seeing a family that really did try to look out for one another. I think for me this was less of a character driven story so I didn't really feel a strong connection to any of the main characters.

I think that this is definetly one of those stories that grips you right from the beginning and keeps you wondering what is going to happen next. I think that this book did a great job of showing how sometimes the family that is forced upon you isn't one that you have to keep forever. I think that the story wrapped up nicely but also left things in a place that if the author ever wanted to continue on with some of theses characters stories that they could.

I think that the pacing was one of the strongest parts of this book because it was a one sitting read for me. I couldn't put it down because I wanted to know how everything would turn out.

I think that the authors writing style was very straightforward. As someone who loves flowery writting occasionally I still enjoyed how straightforward the writing was and how compelling the author's voice was to the overall enjoyment of the story.

I don't think that this is a story I would pick up again but I could see me reaching for this author when I was in the mood for a quick fun read.

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy reading this book.
I found the concept quite fun, but sadly I was very bored reading it.

Am I supposed to care that this chick ran off with one of their boyfriends? Cause Gwen sure didn’t care. How is that the whole premise and plot.

I couldn’t have been more bored. The plot was all over the place and directionless. Really wasn’t here for the awkward cheating.

I think this was going for whimsical and fun but it was just weird and boring.

This book was a romp. Lots of fun and I loved the twists and turns.
This isn’t my usual style so struggled to get started but once I settled in I loved it.
Thank you netgalley for this

This is a lighthearted paranormal romance which I enjoyed for the most part. This book had unique pets and eccentric family component with a good deal of quirkiness. But I felt underwhelmed by this book. I felt like something was missing from the story. The starting was quite slow and it took some time to finally get the plot moving. Overall, a decent book. Would definitely recommend!
