I get this was a meet-cute, but I found it hard to believe that these 2 would fall in love that quickly and manage breakthroughs within that time for each other. This was a tough one to take in, even though I started off happily recognizing downtown Denver. Afterward, things just weren't as recognizable because I was no longer buying into the "hot" (yes, firefighter pun there) chemistry and whirlwind romance. It was way too convenient.
OMG yes!! This book was hot and steamy and spastic and I loved it! The heroine was accident prone and loveable and the hero was broody and emotionally closed off. Despite everything working against them, they figured out how to push beyond that and make it work. I enjoyed seeing their story progress and felt a real connection between the two of them from the first moments the were on the page together. Can't wait to read more by Mariah Ankenman!
Mariah Ankenman has written a delightful rom-com in this first book of the Mile High Firefighters series.
Accident-prone artist Tamsen and sexy, but over-protective, straight-laced firefighter Parker meet in an...unexpected way, and sparks fly (pun intended). Only to run into each other again at their parent's engagement party. Awkward!
They try their best to resist the chemistry since they will soon be step-siblings, and they both feel like that makes things off-limits. But they continue to be thrown together to plan wedding activities, or running into each other at trivia....and Parker has an uncanny ability to show up when Tamsen gets into a little bit of a pickle, and they just can't stop the pull between them.
I love how Tamsen was the one to push to give in to the tension. Her klutziness getting her into scrapes was super charming, and both had me laughing and feeling some second-hand embarrassment. And her relationship with her father was well done - I love how she stood up for him. Parker's relationship and protectiveness with his mom were adorable, too, even if a bit misguided.
If you are in the mood for something fun, funny, and sexy, then I for sure recommend this book.

The Wedding Dilemma by Mariah Ankenman is the first in the Mile High Firefighters series. This is a fun, fast read, with a lot of banter between the main characters.
Ta sen is an artist, and also a klutz. Parker is a firefighter and he has seen almost everything. But when he meets Tamsen while rescuing her from her own negligence, he is attracted to her. Unfortunately, he and his firefighter co-workers have a code to not date anyone they meet on a call. Imagine their surprise when they meet again at their respective parent’s engagement party! Oh oh! Now they will be siblings-in-law? That’s a no-go, right? Or does it matter when they feel the sparks between them and those sparks grow over time spent together planning a wedding shower for their parents. When Tamsen learns that Parker has been keeping a secret from her involving her father, she loses all trust for Parker. But now Parker figures out he loves Tamsen and he needs to find some way to get her back!
I enjoyed this book. I liked how both Parker and Tamsen were protective of their parent, and how Tamsen was portrayed as quirky, but still highly lovable. And I love that she stood up for her father over and over, while Parker was protective of his mother.

The synopsis for The Wedding Dilemma had all the titillation necessary for a quirky, sexy romp, with potentially new step-siblings, a meet-cute featuring a firefighter who has to rescue the heroine from her art casting, and the hopes of sparks flying everywhere. Unfortunately, for this reader, the dialogue fell flat and the way the scenes played out, reading the character’s thoughts felt icky, especially in a professional and serious work environment potentially saving a person’s life.

Mariah Ankenman’s The Wedding Dilemma is a smoking-hot romantic comedy guaranteed to get temperatures rising.
Firefighter Parker Kincaid gets plenty of excitement at work – he is perfectly happy kicking back and living a quiet and predictable life. When he isn’t risking life and limb by running into blazing infernos, Parker likes nothing more than hanging out with his buddies and not letting affairs of the heart complicate matters. Parker is single and has not plans to change that – until he finds himself rescuing a beautiful artist during a rather random SOS call and finds himself completely and utterly unable to stop himself from thinking about Tamsen Hayes. Parker would love nothing more than to get to know Tamsen better – he just never imagined that the next time he would clap eyes on her would be at his mother’s engagement party to her dad!
Parker’s mom happens to be very rich and he is always suspicious when she announces that she has a new partner. Although Tamsen’s dad looks like a stand-up kind of guy, there’s no harm in doing a little bit of investigating on the side to see if he checks out. After all, when his mother’s feelings are involved, he cannot be too careful. Only, Parker begins to spend a lot of time with Tamsen and the more time he spends with her, the more he finds himself falling head over heels in love with her…
Is a relationship for Parker and Tamsen possible? Will there be another wedding on the horizon in the not distant future? Or will Parker’s investigation into her dad’s past end up costing the two of them their own happy ending?
The Wedding Dilemma is such a fun read! A cute and hilarious romantic comedy full of humor, heat and heart, The Wedding Dilemma is a terrific romp about illicit attraction, sizzling desire and irresistible temptation that effortlessly touches the heart and tickles the funny bone.
Parker and Tamsen are two lovely characters who will steal readers’ hearts and keep them eagerly turning the pages.
Mariah Ankenman’s The Wedding Dilemma is a sexy, sassy and spellbinding romantic comedy readers cannot help but adore!
Tamsen and Parker’s story was fun and I was hooked from their meet-cute. I’m a big fan of firefighter romance, so Parker had that going for him from the get-go, but Tamsen was my favorite. This adorable, clumsy sweetheart brought the comedy into the story…whether she meant to or not!
I know some will see the step family connection and think, ick…but it’s not! Our couple are adults who didn’t grow up together…it just so happens that their parents are marrying each other. It makes the story that much funnier. Not to mention a bit steamy!
I think I own another Mariah Ankenman book, but hadn’t read it yet…but I need to get it out because I love her style. She wrote a great story with really engaging characters, which is exactly what I’m looking for in a good romance. I would recommend this to anyone who loves the genre and is a fan of fun couples.
This was a cute, quick read. I enjoyed the story and It had a little bit of catnip for everyone. Step romance, fireman... it was enjoyable and the writing was good. All opinions are my own. Thank you to netgalley for the ARC.
This was a new to me author but the cover of this book caught my eye and after reading the blurb I just had to read it and I truly enjoyed it. I really like a book that can make you laugh but also give your heart a workout and that is exactly what this book does. Add in a touch of the forbidden (which is like catnip to me!) and I was completely hooked, happy and satisfied. I found Tamsen and Parker easy to love and root for. Their impossible to ignore attraction and hot chemistry gave the storyline plenty of intensity and steaminess. What starts out cute quickly twists into something flirty but emotional and that makes this delightful book one you definitely do not want to miss out on.
I can. not really get into step romance. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. This one was a don't for me. I am trying to put a finger on why, and I can't.
This was my first book by this author!
I read this "so cute" romance in one sitting!
I laughed, I swooned!
Parker and Tamsen were just wonderful characters!
I will definitely check out other novels by this author!
So much fun!!!
Tamsen (FMC) and Parker (MMC) meet when she gets stuck in a plaster cast and calls the fire department to help. They are attracted to each other but do not act on that attraction. They meet again at their parents' engagement party and are forced together into planning a shower for their parents.
It was a good book. I liked the writing.
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley.
Tamsen has unbelievable luck and always seems to be in the most bizarre situations when she runs into Parker. It doesn’t help that he is the hottie hero firefighter. But the last place she expects is at her father’s engagement party and to find out he will be her new step-brother. How will she keep the intense chemistry she feels in check? Parker is fascinated with Tamsen and is surprised to run into her again. He is already skeptical of his mom’s new fiancé but now he has to control the attraction he as to Tamsen. These two are a ton of fun as they navigate planning a wedding shower for their parents while exploring the chemistry that just won’t fade. Is there are way to find love together like their parents? Such a fun and sexy romance. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Loved it!! I am a huge fan of romance novels that add humor and fun to the story, and this book was awesome! This is a new author for me and I will definitely be reading more from her!
The Wedding Dilemma was a fantastic read! It was full of sexy chemistry between Parker and Tamsen. Their casual relationship set up quickly turned to something deeper and as the reader you could feel it coming.
Not only was there a lot of steam and passion, I found myself laughing out loud! This was a new to me author but absolutely will be reading her works in the future.
This was so much fun!!!
I laughed so hard while reading this. The main characters were both endearing and fun to read about.
I wish we had more "firehouse life" included in the book because the firefighters sounded like a fun bunch though I think this is a series so I can't wait to read more about them.
Overall this was a super fun read.
The Wedding Dilemma, is a RomCom about family, trust and laughter, lots of laughs guaranteed.
.
From the first line to the last I don't stop smiling, I honestly don't know where those ideas come from, how Tamsen manages to stay in those situations but she is a character that reflects a funny air, alleviating any possible angst so you can enjoy the lovable and steamy scenes.
.
The characters complement each other so well that I wish they each had their book, I really wanted to read about each story in particular.
.
Parker was the reason why I chose the book, a book about firefighters, about the inside of the life of someone who puts in danger is something fresh and so well written.
.
This was my first book by Mariah Ankenman but for sure not my last one. Thanks to Entagled Publishing LLC and Mariah Ankenman for give me this beautiful book in exchange for my honest review
Who is Tamsen? What is happening in her life at the beginning of the story? Who shows up at her place to help with her predicament? Who are Kincaid, Ward, and O'Neal? Oh, things get interesting as a couple of innocent things from Chapter 1 click into place at the start of Chapter 2 for me. Now to see if I am right. Oh, goodness, not even 30% of the way into the story and I feel bad for Tamsen. What strange things have happened that keep getting her thrown into Parker's sphere? Oh goodness, Cora and Parker are a hoot! I love Thomas and Victoria! He seems very devoted to her. The challenges between Tamsen and Parker are so much fun with regards to the options for the winner and loser. What things do they have in common when it comes to family, love, and trust? What realizations do they each come to? Read and see!
4 1/2 stars.,..
This was such a fun rom-com. Not only was the cover quite eye-catching, the storyline grabbed me and kept me reading.. Parker and Tamsen had crazy chemistry and their sexy times were off the charts. But more than that, they connected on a deeper level, making their "casual" relationship something more. Even though I could see some of the plot twists coming, I really enjoyed this book. The characters were fleshed out and believable. As I read this book, I often found myself smiling at the story.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose two review it and the opinions contained within are my own.
The Wedding Dilemma was such a fun read! This was my first firefighter book that was also a rom com as well as my first book by this author and I was not disappointed!
Tamsen is an artist who is a bit accident prone which I guess works well if you want to meet a firefighter, and that is exactly how she meets Parker. Their attraction is instant but of course Parker can’t act on it while on a call. As luck would have it, they do meet again, but at their parents engagement party! Nothing like finding out you are going to be step siblings to add to the drama.
Parker and Tamsen had chemistry that wouldn’t go away no matter how hard they tried, and I like that it was Tamsen who was the one to push for what she wanted with him. There are some steamy scenes and I don’t want to give too much away, but you may find yourself googling “passion paintings.”
I really appreciated that it doesn’t take long for them to both realize they want more and that the conflict that they have isn’t really long and drawn out (that’s a let peeve of mine).
While you will mostly find yourself laughing at the situations Tamsen gets herself into and the book is generally light hearted, there are a few emotional parts and my heart rate definitely went up with a fire call, but that is part of what’s great about firefighter romances. I’m hoping for more books about the rest of the crew!
