Mariana is a therapist specializing in group work — but tbh she’s kind of a wreck herself. It’s been 14 months since her husband’s sudden death, but she’s forced to put her work and sorrow aside for her niece, Zoe. A student at Cambridge — also Mariana’s alma mater — Zoe’s best friend is murdered, and she’s convinced she knows who did it. Greek mythology professor Edward Fosca has a group of female students who are kinda obsessed with him. The rich, beautiful co-eds are called The Maidens and Mariana is convinced they are up to something.

What 👏🏼 a 👏🏼 ride 👏🏼!! I loved so much about this book — the creepy campus setting, the tie ins from mythology, and especially the cameo a character from the author’s previous book, The Silent Patient. If you loved The Silent Patient, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed! Maidens had a lot of characters, but that might be my only complaint.
